We stayed a week while we did some sightseeing in Galveston. Over all a very nice place. net, well ordered pleasant helpful staff. The pool was cold but the hotter was great. There is a hotel attached to the complex so it is great place for RVers to stay with family. The cable was fine and internet worked so so. You have to change which one you are logged into. We could see the breakers from our windows. We had a huge cement wide pad. Easy on and easy off and a lot of staff always around working and cleaning. 16 block walk to historical downtown and a short walk to the seawall and beach. We slept to the sounds of the ocean. The only down side was there is a green ditch full of water just beyond the fence and at night the mosquitos were horrific. We camped at Sandpiper RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This park is in a great location - short walk to the beach. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby. The facilities are in need of some paint and TLC, but overall a nice park. We camped at Sandpiper RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice park, walking distance to the beach. Very clean, nice pool tho we didn't swim. Laundry room was fine. The pads are nicely spaced and fairly large, level concrete. Water, power and sewer were all good. Wifi was good when the park was 25% full, at 75% it became dicey. Access is easy from the Seawall Blvd just after the Broadway intersection. A bit $$$ but location is great - I guess you get what you pay for. We camped at Sandpiper RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

It's Galveston, Gaido's and Benno's are our go-to places. Fishtails, big, popular, we weren't impressed.

Sites are close, but this goes with closeness to the beach. Park was full; rigs come and go, but full. 43 sites, mostly back in, but some pull thrus. Expensive, but we would stay again.

Lot spacing was nearby with sunny/open exposure. Site surface was a concrete pad and featured a picnic table. We camped at Sandpiper RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Arrived with no reservation, no trouble getting in and had the pick of a few sites. Sites long and wide but overall a small park. Any size RV will fit in sites, even back in sites are long.

Gated park but gate not working so anyone can come in, and it is located on a road to the beach. Painting was in progress so things are looking good.

Bathrooms had only one toilet, 3 showers with no privacy, a problem for some.

All services worked good. We camped at Sandpiper RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We were here for 10 days while I visited customers in Houston. The wife and little dog enjoyed the day while I was out.
Spacious concrete pads with sitting and picnic table area. Thick grass and palm trees cover open areas (there is no dirt or gravel). Campground has a security fence around it and electric gates in and out. I think this tends to keep any casual traffic out.
It is about a 200yd walk to the beach where you can rent umbrellas etc.
The location is right off Seawall Blvd and you can drive down to Pleasure Pier within a few minutes - much to do there and you can explore "Old Galveston"
We cooked fresh seafood at our campground and met many nice people.
As always the WIFI was weak but, we made do. We'll be back here for sure next year.
DON'T FORGET MOSQUITO SPRAY - THEY WILL "TOTE" YOU OFF (only negative) We camped at Sandpiper RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Didn't get Good Sam discount. Pricey but if you want on the gulf, you have to pay it. Big sites, concrete paved, decent wifi and utilities. We camped at Sandpiper RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We loved this place! Stayed three weeks with 4 kids, and it is right on the beach. Bathrooms and showers were adequate, and I saw them being cleaned often. Staff friendly, but a word of caution: don't bother mailing anything with them. Our letter sat on the counter for 3 days before I finally took it back (just mailed it myself.) For the location, this place was awesome! We camped at Sandpiper RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed 4 nights. It was great. No shade, but we had an awning. Walked to the beach. Could see the water from our space. Very clean and well kept park except it needed mowing when we were there. Nice cement slabs, good parking for tow vehicle. The WiFi was excellent but the TV reception, even with cable, was poor. The bathrooms were not very accessible (upstairs), but the pool/hot tub was over the top. The water was heated every few minutes in the hot tub and the pool was beautiful. Would stay here again. All cement sites and roads and GREAT Wi-Fi! I thought we had found the perfect 10 park on the beach, but alas, some failings. They have a push button system in the showers so the water shuts off every 60 seconds. I would rather pay into a machine than that. At least you get water for 5 minutes! One of the showers I could not get hot water so had to switch. I didn't find the staff particularly friendly. The other drawback is that we weren't able to enjoy the pool hot tub area two of the evenings. The first evening a couple of families from the area came . And the 2nd night, the park I assume had let the girls softball team have a party. I think they should have told us. When I asked the next day, front office guy said he didn't know anything about it. When we checked in, we were given a bunch of codes to "prevent the local KIDS from using the pool in the evening" there is no code for the pool gate and the locals know it. Someone is around in the evening because they shut the gates at 10 and turn off the music. I think they look the other way or those people are their friends. Very off putting. Now that we have done the touristy history stuff of Galveston, we would go to the other end of the island in the future. This place does have the best location. Access to beach wonderful. And like I said one of the strongest consistent Wi-Fi we have experienced. We camped at Sandpiper RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Nice location close to beach. Desk staff acted like he didn't want to be there; we had to pry info out of him. They put us on the street/sidewalk outside the park, twenty feet from the street (Seawall St). Lots of foot traffic. We had to lock everything up and listen to racing diesel pickups and motorcycles all night. Then there's the large security lights that shine into your coach all night; no sleep. After two days we were able to move into the main park. Level concrete pads, good utilities, and beautiful views of the beach. The park was clean, and well groomed. The security gates were left open all night and were used for short cuts by non-guests. When you make reservations ask if they are putting you on the street/seawall. We camped at Sandpiper RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This RV park was apparently destroyed in 2008 by Hurricane Ike, and has been completely re-built. Nice level spots, but no shade, and little privacy from your neighbors. Great location - you can be walking on the beach in three minutes. Wi-Fi speed was very slow and cable TV selection poor. They advertise security but, in the two nights we stayed there, the sliding gates were left open. Still, a nice park and close to the city center and ocean. We camped at Sandpiper RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Last year the owners of this park did everything right. They created a first class facility at a great location. Something has gone wrong. The Handy-man/care-taker is gone. The dumpster is gone. They installed fencing around the park, but the gates stand open 24/7. Any landscaping that dies is not replaced. There are only 20 cable channels, and the Wi-Fi is spotty at best. The fees continue to climb at an alarming rate. When you check in the clerk will take your money and assign a site. They will give you a sheet of 65 rules and warnings. You will never see the staff again. Weeds have overtaken the sod. The doggy receptacles over-flow. Site assignment defies logic. When we were there, pop-up campers and mini-trailers were in the big pull-through sites while large fifth wheels and coaches struggled to back into the smaller perimeter sites. Those of us who camp more than 200 nights per year can tell when the owners are not involved in the running of a park. If the owners would make an effort to learn what their customers need, this would be an outstanding resort. Instead, this park is quickly sliding into mediocrity. The "7" is for facility and location, not for hospitality. There is none. We camped at Sandpiper RV Resort in a Motorhome.

I've always liked Galveston Island and Sandpiper RV adjacent to Stewart Beach is a welcome addition to rather scarce camping facilities in the area. The location is excellent. The elevated swimming pool, hot tub and waterfall are very nice. The large concrete sites are good. The campground employees offered little to this paying guest and dismissing me with as few words as possible. The men's facilities were not very clean with standing water in the middle of the room. Wi-Fi signal and TV cable are barely functional. We camped at Sandpiper RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

All amenities of the park are adequate and in very good condition, as this park has just opened fall of 2011. Be advised that this is first come first served. Be sure to book at least one month in advance. If there is a means of being able to reserve a specific spot, that should be made available if at all possible. We camped at Sandpiper RV Resort in a Motorhome.
