We are on our 2nd month stay here and our daily rate is based on that. This park nestled in rural East TX, has grown over the years and is always being improved on. It is about a mile off Hwy 155 and the road to the park has been repaved by the city. The park roads are gravel and whilst maintained, can be dusty and bumpy in areas. The sites, some hilly, have flat concrete pads with water, electric 30/50 and sewer hookups. There are shady and open spots to chose from. Some have a covered patio and shed near their pad. The free wifi serves our needs for now. No problem with Verizon cell phone coverage.

There are 3 ponds, one under reconstruction due to a leak and will be restocked later. There is a nice pool and a great clubhouse that has a kitchen, bathrooms with showers, library room, pool tables and comfy couches to watch the big screen TV. There is also an event center that can be booked for parties and gatherings.

The grounds have picnic shelters with grill pits. It is a lovely little park with piney trees, well mowed grass areas and quiet and peaceful. Everyone is friendly and helpful and it makes for a comfortable stay as we have to be here d/t a family illness. We camped at Watts RV Park & Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Few rules of the park: The pool is closed Tuesday and Wednesday. The clubhouse is open from 10am - 10pm.

The park roads are a bit rough to drive on. Park management will complain to the neighbor behind if/when we smell a sulfur odor coming from his property. Management is around to make sure all is well.

The city of Gilmer is about 10 minutes drive away. Restaurants, Brookshires, Walmart etc. Longview, Tyler and Lindale are 30 - 50 minutes away.

The first site C1, was so narrow and uneven that after putting slides out there was no site left. Moved us to B1 which was more level and spacious. Because of drought, no grass and lots of cockle burrs everywhere. Could not walk the dog and carried the burrs in on shoes and clothing. Extremely dusty. Lost power several times but management said no one else was having a problem. Oil refinery behind park and natural gas odor and noise was overbearing. No Wi-Fi although thy gave us 5 different sites that should have popped up, none did. Office was filthy and unorganized. Park manager was nice but not a decision maker. We found another park and pulled out after just one night. No refund! We camped at Watts RV Park & Recreation Area in a Fifth Wheel.

Cost based on weekly rate. We had a break down in our truck with our 40' RV in tow. Luckily we made it to the Walmart parking lot. We ended up having to spend the night in the RV. The next morning I called Watts RV to see if they knew someone who could help us get the RV to their park. The site manager, went above & beyond to help us. She found a very nice man to come & get us. They both made sure we were set up & had everything we needed. Do not know what we would have done without these two. They were truly a blessing!

The park itself is very nice. The roads are gravel, but no problem navigating. There isn't any cable TV, but we were able to get 17 channels using our antenna. WiFi works okay. Nice little pond & the spot we have is huge. The grounds are kept picked up & are patrolled all the time to keep an eye on things. Please try this park the next time you're in this area. You won't regret it. We would definitely stay here again, if in the area. We camped at Watts RV Park & Recreation Area in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice RV park. Friendly staff. Waited for us to arrive, as we were slightly past closing time. Very accommodating. Site was a bit of a chore, as we remained connected and the pickup was quite a bit higher than the trailer. Wasn't bad, though. Their clubhouse is amazing! It has a big screen with sound system, fireplace, kitchen, dining room, pool table, card tables, etc. Nice clean pool. Would rate a 10, but for two reasons - and they are small. 1st: Location. You have to drive through hillbilly alley to get to it; off the beaten path. It would be more suited for a family camping vacation due to this than "passing through", but it was still beautiful. We took pictures which is something we rarely do of a campground. 2nd: The roads are gravel and slightly hilly which causes the rain to erode somewhat, but it wasn't a problem and wasn't too bad. Just being frank and open. We WOULD stay here again. Our rig is 36' long. We camped at Watts RV Park & Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.

Will love to return in a few years and see how it's changed: they are adding cabins to complement the cement pull-through slabs. Everything we saw was great except, like most of East Texas, be prepared to combat ants in the summer. Not far off a state highway but located in the country and secluded. Surprised more haven't found this campground. We camped at Watts RV Park & Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects nightly rate for small rally group, dusty roads, nice concrete slabs, wifi weak but reliable, grill on site good food & prices, good utilities, 40' RV w/toad had no problems with trees on access roads or park roads as cited earlier, we would stay here again. We camped at Watts RV Park & Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects weekly rate. This is a nice park still making improvements/additions. We found the staff extremely friendly. I cannot with a clear conscience say it is "big rig friendly". Chinaberry Road is narrow with low branches and there were low branches inside the park. Sites are concrete, some with concrete patios. There are several ponds but we did not fish. We had Verizon signal problems both with our cellular and our internet connection. The Wi-Fi in the park was difficult to find and we were never able to connect to it. There is a sulfur smell related to a plant of some sort next door. Beautiful clubhouse but the pool was closed in late September when we stayed. We would stay again if we did not need cellular and if there was not something more big rig friendly and convenient. We camped at Watts RV Park & Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Nice clean park, bathroom was spotless. We were put in unfinished area so it was pretty muddy. Manager argued with me over length of our bus conversion. Never told us about Wi-Fi and was overall pretty rude. We camped at Watts RV Park & Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

A very nice park in a rural setting. Great clubhouse with a fireplace, kitchen, pool table, lounging area, and three TVs. Individual shower/restrooms are super clean and well maintained. The manager is always available and keeps the whole place in order. They continue to add sites with perfectly level concrete pads. Fishing pond with not license required. Park is 1.2 miles off TX155 on wide and RV friendly oil road. Plenty of signage to direct the way. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Watts RV Park & Recreation Area in a Motorhome.
