Nov 2015 - $15.00
The older area of the park is ok, with some shade, but the new area is just a parking lot. Not a very interesting or pretty park, but it is near a lake. It looks like a nice place for a big picnic, but not really great for a destination stay. The host was super friendly and helpful. The park is a few miles from the base, so no base services, but there is a gas/convenience store within walking distance. There was some traffic noise during the day, but it was very quiet at night. The wifi was inoperative and apparently, no one knows how to fix it. The cell service was good. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this park, but it was a handy enough place to stay for a night. - KAP99
Aug 2015 - $20.00
Great campground. I've stayed there many times. Very convenient to San Angelo. Walking distance to gas station. Staff is very friendly. Showers are satisfactory (body hair - tight space). There is actually wasted space that could be used with towel hooks - benches which would make it more accommodating. Almost zero shade. Would be nice if the overflow got sewage drains and trees. Would definitely stay there again. - r Smith
Apr 2014 - $20.00
Two sections to campground. An older loop right next to entrance, and a new area. Older area has trees, concrete pads, table. New area is a basic parking lot with utility pedestals. Arrived near sunset and got the last site in older section. Campground host very helpful. Some long term residents, but park was clean and quiet. Nice area to walk around. Do be aware that campground is near road, and water front area is a day use recreation area for a training AFB with lots of very young airmen, soldiers, sailors and marines out to party on the weekends. Will stay here again every time we are in the area is space is available. Much better rate for facilities than city owned or commercial CG nearby. - PawPaw
Apr 2017 - $38.00
This has to be the cleanest KOA we have ever stayed in. The owner and staff were very helpful. Trash pickup and a paper at our door everyday. We received a discount because we stayed a week, not shown in original price. We would stay here again. - fred8509
Apr 2017 - $32.00
GPS took us right to the San Angelo KOA. The interior roads and sites were gravel. We were in a long pullthru and the hookups were convenient with two sewer connections depending on which end of the site you chose. We had a satellite friendly site with a nice patio. Although KOAs are generally more expensive than most parks, this one was more reasonably priced, we have started staying more and more. Site unseen you can generally count on a KOA as a good park because sometimes we have been fooled by the website and reviews of other parks and haven't enjoyed our stay. We would stay at this KOA again as there is a lot to do in San Angelo if we came back again. - Bob & Jo
Apr 2017 - $31.00
No negatives about this campground. Smooth check-in. Follow-me to space. All hookups convenient. Short distance on Knickerbocker Rd off Loop 306. Handy for ASU events and shopping. Call ahead just to be safe. Fills up late. - Bill Calvert
Sep 2016 - $50.00
Daily rates have jumped from $38.00 to $50.00 per day! Pricey? Compare the area's other RV Parks.... not a RESORT!
Has a very good store of RV goods and Ice, some food and cold beverages.
Many shade trees.
A little out of town, but right on a lake for fishing, swimming, water sports. - Blackie13
Apr 2016 - $44.00
The park was really clean and new owners were nice. Only complaint is we stayed in site 55 and was way too close. We had about 8 feet between the each. The pullout was in our small camping area when neighbor setup. I would not recommend any of the 50 thru 58 numbered sites. - LuluBoyd
Oct 2015 - $32.00
This park is very well maintained, the staff are friendly and helpful. Park is located on shores of a small lake and at this time of the year it is very peaceful, we've never stayed in the summer so can't say what it's like then This is one of the nicest parks we've ever stayed in. We stayed for a week. Park has two sections the spaces in the older section aren't quite as large as the new section but appear to be adequate if you don't have a hugh RV. We stayed on the newer side our trailer is 45 ft and there was plenty of room for it and our vehicle with lots of room between us and the rv's on either side and there were several sites larger than ours. - Myrtle the Turtle
May 2017 - $24.00
There are two major camping areas, the North and South Shore. We stayed at the North Shore while we found most campers stayed on the South Shore near the lake. We were with 7 other campers in our group and almost had the north shore to ourselves. Signage needs a lot of work, directing people to the camping areas, to the dump station (which is usable but needs work done on it), to the bathrooms, to everything. We saw deer, birds, a snake, and javelinas. Park host was friendly and so was the ranger. Gate guard was indifferent. We ended up with a flat tire and ranger escorted the repair truck to our site so he could find us. Sites were well shaded and spacious. Each site has a covered picnic table and fire pit and grill. - davis0056
Apr 2017 - $24.00
Price includes daily gate fee to the park. Currently, you can't reserve a specific site. Speeding is an issue. Sites are large and may require some leveling. Very close to shopping. Loved watching the prairie dogs play! - jnateg
Dec 2016 - $17.00
Very nice state park. We were going to spend 2 nights, but extended for a third night. The price reflects the 50% discount for the 2nd night when using the Texas State Park annual pass.
The sites are large and spaced far apart. They have both pull-throughs and back-ins with covered picnic tables at each site.
The sites are water & electric only, no sewer.
It's just a few miles into San Angelo for shopping.
We'd definitely stay here again if in the area. - wntrtxn
Oct 2016 - $38.00
Laundry has new washers and dryers.
Only year and half old.
Wide open. Quiet.
All sites are extra long and drive thru
Not much shade for summer heat. - Blackie13
