We enjoyed our stay at this campground. We were last here in May, 2013 and the campground is about the same as it was then. We appreciated the ranger giving us a list of vacant full hookup, 50 Amp sites that were available, I think there were 8 or 9. We picked the one that looked good to us and settled into a large, level, gravel site. There's a $3 a night surcharge for 50 Amps - in fact, the power pedestals for those sites are padlocked until the surcharge is paid. This Thousand Trails has both a large "family" pool and Activity Center and a smaller Adult pool with spa and Adult Activity Center. There are many annual campsites that have been improved in various ways by the residents. A surprising number of the residents light their sites at night with "running lights" whether or not they are present. However, if a person arrives looking for a 30 Amp full hookup site they would have many nice spots from which to choose. The roads in the campground are typical Thousand Trails: read rough and pothole filled. We had no problem getting a satellite signal and our Verizon signal was a solid 4G. We appreciated the way campground management worked with us as we needed to prepare to put our pickup in the shop for repairs. We camped at Thousand Trails / Lake Texoma in a Fifth Wheel.

The $3 rate is the 50 amp surcharge for members. The retail price for non members is around $50. We have been coming to this park for over 15 years. It is getting old, rundown and in need of upgrades. The roads are terrible and the trees need trimming. Most of the sites are small and in need of leveling and some gravel. It rained quite a few times during our stay and our site was very muddy. Very few sites are big rig friendly. There are lots of really nice big sites with full hook ups and 50 amps, but they are all taken by annual residents. Those annual residents are responsible for the improvements, not Thousand Trails. That leaves very few 50 amp sites left for everyone else. When the park is full their electrical system has trouble handling the load on hot days. The problem was so bad during the Memorial weekend that they now close a portion of the sites to help lessen the load. That seemed to help some, but we still had problems with low voltage and electrical outages. Luckily we had a generator and were able to stay cool during those episodes. The old water lines are constantly leaking. It is very common for the water to be shut off unexpectedly while they fix a leak. We have learned to keep a full tank of water for those unexpected shut downs. The trash dumpsters are always full and running over after a few days. There is constantly trash piled up around them on the ground. We were there on the 4th of July weekend when the park was full, which was a disaster. Evidently management had decided not to enforce any of the rules unless they absolutely had to. There were dogs running loose and pooping everywhere and the owners were not cleaning up after them. There were people parking in the grass and blocking the roads with cars and boats. Our neighbors were using the road to park extra cars, blocking us in. On the plus side the fireworks display was really nice, but that money would have been better spent on repairing roads and utilities. We camped at Thousand Trails / Lake Texoma in a Motorhome.

We stayed after prime season, but still enjoyed the campground and area. We disconnected our tow vehicle and drove around to select our site rather than trying to navigate the roads with the 43' motorhome + tow vehicle. We stayed in a site that viewed the baseball field out the front window - it was quite private with woods separating us from the rig on one side, and a wide space to the rig on the other side. The $3/night rate reflects Thousand Trails membership and staying at 50A site.

This was the first campground we had stayed in that we needed to have the ranger come to the site to unlock the electric box. I guess they make sure that folks have paid for 50A in that way, or just ensure that the electric boxes are kept in good shape. We camped at Thousand Trails / Lake Texoma in a Motorhome.

We stayed at site B37 on labor day weekend. The sites were pretty spacious and well shaded. The women's restroom was clean and smelled good, but my husband said the men's was disgusting. They had 3 transformers blow, and they have a 10 week wait to get their order since the transformers are going to California and other places in need first. However, they got a generator up and going so that that the family pool could open, they still had music on Saturday night too and had makeshift facilities so some services could be available. Both pools were in great shape. For the amount of sites it wasn't cramped. There are potholes going to the lake, which is pretty much undeveloped. The boat ramp was fine, they had places to tie a boat up near the ramp as well. If you have a super fancy boat, go down the road to the national park and pay $3 to use that. There is also a 15 mile hiking trail at the national reserve area. Our campsite was gravel and dirt, but it was pretty level. My only complaint is that the sewer wasn't maintained, it was concrete and the inlet was too small even for our little piece that screws into PVC pipes, if you didn't have anything to connect it with you would have to go buy something. Even in the shaded area when we turned our antenna we picked up about 40 channels from DFW. We camped at Thousand Trails / Lake Texoma in a Travel Trailer.

This has to be one of the best Thousand Trails park we have ever stayed at. We have stayed mostly in the Pacific Northwest but we are on our way to the east coast. Very well groomed most sites are clean and level. The only down sides are the park roads which need repairing, and limited 50 amp service. We camped at Thousand Trails / Lake Texoma in a Motorhome.

Sites are all gravel. Most are back-in and level. The interior roads are not in good shape. Lots of pot holes. Two crystal clear pools. One is a family pool and the other is for adults only. Miniature golf, shuffle board, horseshoe pits, basketball court, and playground are just some of the activities to keep the kids occupied. There is access to Lake Texoma, but the roads are bad. I would stay here again. We camped at Thousand Trails / Lake Texoma in a Motorhome.

Had not visited here in a couple of years. They have cleaned up some of the "annual" sites and the pools etc. are better cared for. Roads still pretty bad and very few spaces available for traveling people. Sites are somewhat level full hookup dirt and gravel back ins. 50 amp costs $3.00 per day extra. They have removed ALL grills from this property. They will rent you one at the store if required. We camped at Thousand Trails / Lake Texoma in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed our stay while we were there. We had a spot near the playground which was perfect for our kids. The mini golf course seemed in great condition. Activity center was nice and has free wifi. Sites are clearly labeled. We got a spot that had plenty of room although there are some areas where spots are closer together. Restrooms were clean. Would stay there again. Tips for other Campers:

If you are willing to take a drive, Sherman has just about anything you need. Lots of grocery stores, shopping, restaurants. If you decide to go grocery shopping closer to the campground, don't trust Google to be up to date. Ask one of the locals for a suggestion.

We loved all of the amenities in the park. The park isn't close to the lake at all, and if you want to take your boat there will be travel time. I wish the store to check out game equipment stayed open later. We camped at Thousand Trails / Lake Texoma in a Fifth Wheel.

I am a very long time Thousand Trails member and know this park extremely well. Unfortunately, this park is aggressively deteriorating fast. Electrical power is terrible (specifically 50 amp). Severally times we had to run our refrigerator on gas to have enough power to run 2 a/c in the Texas heat . Roads are in terrible condition and constantly in need of repair. The most disturbing issue we have with this park is the staff (specifically the rangers). First impressions and helpfulness are always important after a long day on the road but it is "always" a chore to get the rangers to come out and help (usually camped out behind their TV). If anyone is thinking of joining the TT network please do not compare the facilities at this park to other TT parks. If you did you probably would not join. We camped at Thousand Trails / Lake Texoma in a Fifth Wheel.

Continues to be one of the worst Thousand Trails Parks we have stayed at. Interior roads are terrible (pot holes), electrical and water service were marginal at best (numerous time water and electric went off unannounced – incoming power at 30 amp pedestals was 15-20% below 120v), and, finally, staff continues to be extremely unfriendly and non-responsive. This resort continues to be a weekend destination for most TT members with extended memberships initiatives (cash flow) directed towards annual site leases. Anyone considering an investment in outdoor camping with TT (specifically zone memberships) should inspect what they can expect at TT Texoma. We camped at Thousand Trails / Lake Texoma in a Fifth Wheel.

This park can be described as both full and empty. There are many RVs here but most are unoccupied. The many annuals make it a bit challenging to find a good site, but we counted 5-10 acceptable vacant full hook up sites that weren't in use when we arrived. There are both family and adult only pools/spas and activity center plus adult only activity center. WiFi is available only at the activity center (even with a WiFi Ranger I get nothing). In spite of being near the lake, the only access is by driving out a back gate and a then a distance down to the lake. Sites are large and reasonably spaced. The cabins look real nice. We camped at Thousand Trails / Lake Texoma in a Fifth Wheel.

Thousand Trails rate. Yes, there are a lot of long term lease sites, but there was no problem finding a good site. There is lots of real estate between sites so there is privacy and elbow room to spare. Bathhouses and laundry were clean and well maintained. Some 50 AMP sites available. Staff was friendly and courteous. Catfish Haven & Catfish Platter both a short drive away & good grub. The only real issue is the interior roads which are a little rough. Sites take a little leveling but utilities are convenient. There is lots of grass and plenty of hiking trails. Lake Texoma is huge and Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge is nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will return when through the area again. We camped at Thousand Trails / Lake Texoma in a Fifth Wheel.

We received a free membership with the purchase of our new RV. We decided to give the Lake Texoma facility a shot and camped here recently. The facility has the appearance of once being very nice, but hasn't been kept up quite as much in recent years. Lots of long term lease sites, so weekenders don't get first pick of the nicer sites. We prefer more wooded sites and the A loop -- which is fairly wooded -- does not have FHU. Bummer, but we only camped on a long weekend, so no big deal. There's a nice playground for the kiddos and lots of bathrooms throughout. Don't forget your Claritin-D! The pollen here is thick and can make those with allergies pretty miserable. We have 30 plus years experience staying at this park. Have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly. Sad to say we only stay here out of necessity and not by choice. Park continues to deteriorate and has lost the majority of its open and best sites to annual storage and/or leases. Roads are consistently in need of repair and general maintenance is visually nonexistent. We camped at Thousand Trails / Lake Texoma in a Fifth Wheel.
