18 RV Parks near Graford, Texas
Jun 2013 - $60.00
Lakeside is a small family owned place on Possum Kingdom Lake. There are 20 nicely manicured, level sites all in a row down one length of the property. PK Lake is down pretty low (10 ft or more) due to the drought. Still a lot of fun but you have to feel for the people with immovable docks Lakeside. Owners were very nice. Place was clean utilities all worked. NO INTERNET. Pet peeve of mine since I work on the road. They have a room where you can go and check online but that's it. Had to use my hotspot. Owners have the place up for sale due to health issues. Maybe the next guys will invest in Internet. Very expensive for what you get. - Patriot04
May 2011 - $60.00
Fabulous place. Best on PK by a long shot. The hosts are awesome and immediately welcome you as a part of the family. This is our second summer here and we get a great monthly rate. All paved and level sites, plenty of parking, great central location. Excellent amenities and facilities. Our kids love it here. No shade but usually a good breeze. Boat ramp is steep but you are very close to several public ramps. Don't waste your time looking for any other RV parks on the lake. This is the one! - ShawnaMarie
Aug 2010 - $17.00
This place is great! Owners are the best in the business! There are a couple summer time full timers but they are great people. The park has a boat ramp onsite (little steep) and dock space for 5-6 boats. The pool on the water is great and well maintained. The rate shown reflects a monthly rate and includes electricity averaged in. My 5th wheel is there now and will stay there as long as the lake stays warm. This is the first full season in operation (2010) so the shade trees are still young and should be great for the 2011 season. Again, this is a great place and is at the top of my list and I'm sure it will be for a long time. - ltwindle
Jul 2011 - $25.00
This is a very quiet campground with some of the best possible hosts. They have it set up for family camping and family fun. It is on a nice beach and the sites are easily maneuvered. This isn't a RV resort with doggy walks and concrete slabs and patios. If you like camping, like we do, then this is a great bargain and a good place to get away or even host a family reunion. - tbax46
Jan 2012 - $12.00
This park is a joke. NO bathrooms or showers. It is only for monthly renters. There are older travel trailers there with no pride of ownership. They have a monthly rate of 400.00. The daily rate is 12.00. So if you plan on staying long term choose the daily rate, as it is actually cheaper. 360.00 a month at the daily rate, 400.00 a month is you pay by the month.??. BAD road going into the place, you WILL scrape your bumpers going in. They do NO clean up, because the place has trash laying around blowing into your area. Dogs run loose, barking all night, the highway noise is pretty bad. Lots of truckers. Electric is hit and miss, our box kept shorting out, and lights dimming all the time. DO NOT stay here. CASH only, and they don't do receipts. - Mr Zorg
Dec 2010 - $25.00
Park is mainly for monthly, only 1 site is open for over night, it's a pull through, but small. The owners do not run the place, the previous owner does manage it, if that's what you can call it. No one cleans, no maintenance is done here at all, faulty electrical. All utilities are paid with monthly and weekly rates. It's a very high price for such an older run down park. Hwy noise is terrible, no naps here people, big rigs running by all the time. The managers are nice enough, but can't give out receipts for your stay. Which was an issue for us. We came here to look for a home, sold our motor-home and purchased a travel trailer cheap, lots of the FEMA units for sale in Ft. Worth and surrounding area. The area has history, but nothing as for things to do, so I guess all that went with the history? You can get DSL cable internet, at the sites, but you will have to pay for it. The manager don't want anyone on his Wi-Fi, because Suddenlink will cut your account off if you download movies etc... We will not stay here again, dogs run loose, including the owners dogs, and the managers dog will bite you if you try to approach their door, not a good way to welcome people at all. - Mr Zorg
Aug 2008 - $30.00
The electrical boxes were old and need replacing, our electricity did not work upon arrival. Luckily some fellow campers were certified electricians and had the proper tools and equipment to repair the box. The cable TV also did not work. The office did not seem to care about the problems with our site, offered us no refund not even a partial! The few RV sites are at the end of what seems to be a trailer park and there are also some cabins owned by the same people that seem to be in a dire need of renovation. There is always a heavy flow of people from the trailer park cruising by on golf carts, sometimes at a very high rate of speed. The management here is not keeping up with the grounds at all. Much nicer RV sites right next door. - FrogDog26
Jul 2017 - $25.00
Nice view of lake, large swimming area but steep entry. Some sites easier to back into than others with large trailer. Easy access to water from most sites. Fully stocked store in park - but beer nowhere near so come prepared. - SDSaylor
Jun 2017 - $25.00
We stayed at Possum Kingdom SP on our way out of Dallas headed west towards Tahoe. We chose to avoid driving on Interstates, so our drive found us passing by Possum Kingdom Lake State Park. We got a late start out of Dallas, so decided to stay at the park for the night. It was very dark and a long way off the state highway (like a half hour). The road was twisty and 2 lane...had we known how far it was, we'd have stayed elsewhere. We arrived after hours, so drove around in our 25' Motorhome with tow vehicle and found a spot. We needed to unhook the toad to back into our site. We had a premium site near the water with full hookups...something not all state parks offer, so this was a bonus. You might want to reserve ahead during peak season to get a spot with hookups if you want them. Most of the other campers were undoubtedly there for the water sports as many had boats. We had our two dogs and walked around with them before leaving and it was typical of many lakes in Texas. I am sure this is a beautiful park, but we didn't really have a chance to explore it...the area we were in was pretty basic. The area we were in had a few trees, but our site was treeless. There was a covered picnic table adjacent to our site and a bath house nearby. I really don't have any complaints, but generally prefer more trees. This is a park more for people into water sports. I'd recommend it if you are looking to enjoy the lake, but for an overnight stop, there might be better options since it's so far off the road and doesn't offer much aside from the lake. For this trip, it wasn't a great choice, but in the future, if we had more time to stick around and enjoy the lake, I'd happily stay here again. The park rangers were friendly. - Mary_O
Sep 2016 - $20.00
Possum Kingdom State Park is on the southwest shore of Possum Kingdom Lake near Caddo, Texas. The park is nestled in the Palo Pinto mountains. The lake is one of the finest in Texas with the clearest water of any lake in the state. The park was the last CCC built park in Texas. Nice hiking trails. Wildlife abound. Great swimming.
Very remote park, the closest town, Graham, is 30 miles away. The park has a well stocked park store.
There are 20 sites in the premium section with 50A electric and water. Many sites on the lake. Only 10 sites can accommodate a 30'+ RV. The water and electric section of the park has 40 sites. Best suited for tents and RV's under 20'. If you have a large RV you should arrive before Friday for best site selection.
We were in site 17 with a great view and access to the lake. We will return. - drfife
Sep 2015 - $20.00
Well you get what you pay for. For $20/night it's a bargain. Don't expect a view, most of the site are full timers (oil rig folks), On the list of rules nothing about keeping the outside of your RV clean, so you may be next to someone with lots of "stuff". It is a decent enough spot to spend the weekend if you can't get into one of the nearby state parks. Gravel roads, the space (30) we had was decent. Connections were dated but usable.
No Table or Patio. Reach out and touch your neighbor, no shade in the middle sections some of the outside sections had trees. No WIFI, Verizon One bar, AT&T one bar. Did not try TV but at 6 miles from town might have been some reception.
Value would be higher if WIFI was available.
Rated high on service due to friendliness when calling to make reservation, Did not see staff when we were there (3 days), have self checking and payment box.
Cleanliness: Let's just say i'm glad our RV shower worked... - Sharpe7tex
Sep 2016 - $28.00
This was just an overnight stay for us and we've stayed here before. The staff are charming and efficient; the park is well-kept and relatively quiet, considering how close they are located to Hwy 281; our site was level and long enough that we didn't need to unhitch. The WiFi was pretty hit or miss (mostly miss). There isn't any cable and the antenna can only pick up very few channels. The park appears to be more of a long-term place than transient, but it's just fine for an overnight. We'll probably stay there again in the future. - Paul Elliott
Jan 2015 - $25.00
This was our second stay at Rocker D because the park is well maintained, the restrooms are clean and the wifi service is satisfactory. All utilities function correctly. Rocker D is a good overnight park and we will stay here again when in the area. - OldeJohn
Mar 2014 - $25.00
We stayed here overnight after picking up our new RV. We chose this campground based on earlier positive reviews. The reviews were right on. This is a very nice campground with very easy access for our 45' rig with a tow. We were not able to pick up any worthwhile TV channels just using our antennae but that wasn't a major issue. We would definitely stay here again the next time we are in this area. - rogueag
Apr 2017 - $20.00
At the last moment we change our plans because of weather, and went here. We are so glad we did. This state park is beautiful. And it has everything a state park needs. Hiking trails, bike trails, swimming, fishing, rock climbing(if you do that), kayaking, etc. Cell phone service was spoty. OTA tv very poor, but that was OK for us. Sites were level and on asphalt. When we stayed park was about 30% full. Lots of wildlife. We definitely will be back. - Denban
Apr 2017 - $24.00
We stayed here when there weren't many other campers so it was relatively quiet and calm. There is a 30 am campground and a 50 amp campground. The 30 amp, Plateau, appeared to have sites with more space around them. My husband used the showers and said there was no privacy in the dressing area. Wi-fi was spotty and irregular even tho we were two sites away from the tower at the restroom. My ATT iphone didn't work at all. My husband was able to call with his simple phone. Due to heavy rain the day before we arrived there was a bit of erosion on the spur to the Bike Trailway and the mixed use trail was closed. However, the two lakeside trails were fine and provided some interesting variety. This is a very pleasant park, with a number of sites on the water and shade trees at the sites. - jhwms
Mar 2017 - $24.00
Spaces are well separated with dense vegetation between. Great sense of privacy. Quiet and well away from freeways, but close enough to Dallas to hear the distant, dull roar of the city when outside the RV. Woodsy smell and plenty of birds. Can reserve, but not a specific site. Plenty of sites when we were there in late March. Campground loops are separated by 50-amp, 30-amp, tent only. - OlderGoat
May 2010 - $18.00
There are not enough trees to shade a gopher. This park is in the middle of nowhere, and there are no amenities. The park manager said that he hates people in general. They have no vending machines, no ice machines They are not equine friendly. There is no pool, just a site that is unlevel, road noise from 281, and no TV, unless you want to get a movie from them that also costs. The only good thing I can say about this park is that I never have to stay there again. - roving cowboy
