Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed the month of December. There had been a lot of rain before we got there. The sewer was full, but they had it pumped out the next day. Like most COE camps nice size sites. Not a lot of shade, but a shelter over picnic table. Really liked this it was big enough to use as car port for our motorcycle. Of course no wifi. No trouble with cell reception. Only 4 or 5 campers here through the week and only a couple more on the week end. Only around 25 sites here. You can see the lake from all sites. there is also a horse area with some trails. No play ground for kids. We camped at Willis Creek COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Each campsite has a nice pavilion over the picnic table and park hosts were nice.

Our site had several piles of dog feces that I had to clean up. There were also cigarette butts all over and a pile of dead bait type fish poured out near my water spigot--25 or more small, smelly, rotting fish.

Our campfire ring was full of ashes that I had to scoop out. Our grill was full of ashes and debris and the lid was non-functioning.

It's a small park with virtually no trees and no privacy from neighboring campers. Each space is very narrow and you are literally right next door to your neighbors. You can hear, see and smell everything they are doing. Everything. On Sunday of Spring Break, the camp ground was full and noisy. Many ill mannered children were running amok.

There is only one bathroom. We were there during Spring Break 2015 and the one bathroom had two toilet stalls and one shower (maybe two, I didn't look). The bathroom only had one functioning toilet (women's side). The other was clogged. There was wet toilet paper and human feces and blood all over the entire restroom! Not just on the floors. Apparently the park hosts don't clean the bathrooms. A scheduled service comes in and does that. I don't know how often.

I reserved 4 days at this park and I have to go home everyday to shower (70 mile round trip) as I'm a tent camper. I also had to drive about 5 miles to the nearest convenience store to use their toilets.

There were several barefooted children playing in the bathroom! Their mother was outside the bathroom sitting on a retaining wall playing her iPod very loudly and yelling at the children to hurry up. We camped at Willis Creek COE in a Tent.

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is located in a quiet rural area on the shore of Granger Lake, 40 miles northeast of Austin. The lake is quite popular this comfortable time of year with boaters and fishermen. The online reservation system was informative and easy to use, and the gate attendant was friendly and helpful. The pads are level, paved, and spaced far apart, so there is plenty of room. I visited during a very busy time at the lake - spring break - and the bathrooms showed it. They were too nasty to use. Based on the pristine condition of the rest of the park and campground, I imagine this is not the norm. Clean bathrooms and Wi-Fi would have resulted in a score of "8" or "9". We camped at Willis Creek COE in a Motorhome.

Very nice and quiet. Like most COE campgrounds it is very well maintained and easy to get into the sites. Would recommend it to anyone with any size rigs. We camped at Willis Creek COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Nice out of the way park. Sites are paved and needed a little leveling. Good spacing between sites and each site has a covered picnic table. Also has a fire ring and bbq grill. All sites are closed to the lake and you can fish from the bank. The only thing that caused concern was that the power was only 110 volts during our stay. We camped at Willis Creek COE in a Fifth Wheel.
