The park has well kept paved roads easy to navigate. All sites are concrete and most are pull-thru. The back-in sites are near the river. The amenities down by the river are very nice; disappearing pool, gazebo, pier, etc. Sunsets are fabulous by the river. ATT was 5 bars.

We did experience some negatives. The sites are very narrow. If we parked the truck on the side in the intended parking spot, the truck door when opened would hit our neighbors slide. It's a long walk to the river and back. The sites near the river are also narrow, short back-ins, and utilities are on the passenger side. This is ok for class A, but not for trailers. Also the cost is $89 per night for river sites.

Cable TV is provided, but only got 11 channels, so we used our antenna and got many, many channels.

Wifi was also provided but it was too slow for Internet use. We used our hot iPhone hotspot.

We stayed here for location and would not stay again. There are 2 other parks on the same road. We camped at San Jacinto Riverfront RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Nearby San Jacinto Memorial complex was interesting.

An expensive park for a location far outside Houston. They brag about their peaceful surrounding but we could hear the interstate all night. The view from our campsite of the river was very nice but the setup of the campsite was weird. We selected this place because our campsite had a "private" spa/hot tub. What they did not say is the hot tub is on the sewer side of the coach! Not a great location for sneaking out of your coach for a dip in the hot tub when it's on the utilities side of the coach. We camped at San Jacinto Riverfront RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a really nice campground just outside of Houston on Interstate 10, about 15 miles from Houston's city center in a city called Highlands, Texas. It has just about all the amenities one would expect from a resort style RV resort. My site was a deluxe premium site and included a private hot tub and a view of the San Jacinto river. other amenities included

* two fishing piers

* large two story cottages as well as smaller cottages

* Large clubhouse with an infinity pool and hot tub

* Private showers and bathrooms

* Large Laundry room

Cons:

The only cons I had with this place is it's a tad on the larger size and if you have a site near the river, you will find that the workout room, laundry, store and dumpsters are quite a hike away up to the front of the park. Also trash is not picked up at your site as in some resorts so if you plan on staying by the river, you will have to walk or drive to the dumpsters for your trash removal.

I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone needing to stay in the area. We camped at San Jacinto Riverfront RV Park in a Motorhome.

1 night stop over. Getting to the park down the town street was a little challenging. They staff was very friendly and accommodating. They did give us #1 spot near front gate but we did not experience any noise as others have. I would have rated a 10 but think it is a little over priced and their non-refundable deposit rules for just 1 night can pose a problem if you run into RV problems on the road. We camped at San Jacinto Riverfront RV Park in a Motorhome.

Looked like best park to stop overnight before passing through Houston. Over nighters given sights near entry which means lots of traffic with large loud diesel trucks late evening/ early morning. Pool closes at 8:00...why? Close tight sites without view unless next to river. Most expensive park in 6 weeks on road and least enjoyable! We camped at San Jacinto Riverfront RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

As others have stated, I am not sure how this park has rated a set of 10s on Good Sam. The staff was friendly, but while checking in tried to convince me to not go to my next destination by bad mouthing the other park. Unprofessional. If you want to leave the park after 8 PM you have to put down a $25 deposit for a gate card. Ever heard of a keypad entry? Both pools close at 8 PM, including the adults only pool. Not very adult if you ask me, especially when we got there 10 minutes from closing and wanted to take a dip. Their rules say no older RVs, yet they are everywhere. There was trash on our site on arrival, and the drainage is terrible. Standing water and BIG mosquitoes everywhere. The roads within the park are very tiny, and so are the RV pads. The cable has a connector coming out of the ground, and that's it. Just a cable in the grass. There are lots of oil/gas workers here on a permanent basis, so be prepared for lots of traffic and diesels. We saw lots of permanent structures that looked trashy around RVs, as well as one with an outdoor full sized refrigerator. There is supposed to be a curfew and quiet time, but it was not enforced. There were lots of kids riding motorized carts and scooters into the night. There are no picnic tables at your site either. The location is convenient to I-10, but is by no means in a safe area. Highlands is known for trashy meth dealers. The infinity pool (adults) was nice down by the river. The views are mediocre at best, if you like barge traffic, etc. The only reason we stayed here was because it was close to Baytown where we were moving out of our brick and stick home to go full time. It provided quick access. The pictures on their website are deceiving, be sure and visit first. We will not be back, and will not recommend this site to others. We camped at San Jacinto Riverfront RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The only tip I can add is to stay away.

We really disliked this park. We can't figure out how the Good Sam directory gave it 10/10/10. The park is located in a run down suburb of Houston. The entrance had a dead opossum laying on the side of the road, and there was many of the properties along the entrance road are unkempt and unsightly. The check in process was very slow and tedious. You'd think that they'd never operated a computer before. The ladies at the front desk were nice enough though. If you want to come into the park after 8 PM, you need to give them a $25 deposit for an access key. Bring it back and get your money back. You'd think that in this day and age, they'd figure out how to have push button access codes available. I was assigned a pull-through site near the front of the park. Whatever you do, don't take one of these sites. This is the busiest park we've stayed at on our three month journey. The in and out traffic goes on all night long, so you have trucks and cars driving by your bedroom window all night long. All traffic had to go by our site since we were right on the corner. There was quite a bit of trash on our site when we arrived. Included were used band-aids (yuck) and a long piece of wire. Cigarette butts were everywhere. There appear to be lots of workers living here. The sites were level, the water pressure was 45 PSI, and the voltage was a little low at 109 on one leg of the 50 amp circuit. The other leg was 114. I would not stay here again. We camped at San Jacinto Riverfront RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This has been the cleanest, most secure RV park we have ever stayed in. The staff here go above and beyond to help. The security patrols at night and with the gate that requires a key really gives peace of mind. We are here on long term monthly basis, I would truly recommend this park to everyone. This park is mostly full of workers and they aren’t very sociable. It’s great for the park owners that they are there, just not a very friendly park for people passing through. The sites are fine, gravel with concrete pads, but the lanes in-between are very narrow and impossible to navigate through if all the workers are at home as they leave their trucks all over. The diesel pickups the workers have can be heard all day and night coming and going. They drive very fast in and out of their spots. The washroom facility is clean, but was too far away from where we were to use. There are plenty of washers and dryers in the laundromat, but they left our clothes smelling of dog. This did look like the best of the RV parks around this area. We would stay here again for a very short visit. We camped at San Jacinto Riverfront RV Park in a Motorhome.

Campground appeared to be nice. There were a lot of oil country full timers. We spent one night there while passing through. Roads were tight. Since our 30-ft. Airstream was smaller than a lot of RV's we managed to get out without much hassle. Our biggest complaint was the Wi-Fi service. It was non-existent. Office worker said I could walk up to the office and connect. That wasn't what I bargained for. We won't be back. We camped at San Jacinto Riverfront RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Excellent and well kept RV Park. Somewhat noisy in the mornings when people start their diesel trucks to go to work. We were near the exit to the park so we got to hear them all. That is my only complaint. Everything else was great. We stayed a week and are returning for another week. The weekly rate was $209 dollars. It is a beautiful park. I highly recommend it. We reserved a spot with a hot tub since our backs were killing us from a long drive. When we arrived the tub was cold and took all night to heat up. I asked that it be turned on before out arrival. We decided to stay another night and use the tub the next day. The next morning went out to use the tub and workers were there draining it. I asked if there was a problem with the unit and the fellow didn't speak English. I called and was told they clean the tubs on Monday. I would not have booked another day had I known this. The next morning I let them know I was not happy and was told they would check into it. Called back and no one seems to know anything about it. Our site was ok, except there were a lot of long term renters with very noisy dogs. I had to call about the noise a few times. Would not stay here again. We camped at San Jacinto Riverfront RV Park in a Motorhome.

Finding this park is a challenge. When driving from I-10, you first come across "The Original Riverfront RV Park" before you get to the "San Jacinto Riverfront RV Park." The park doesn't appear to be in a great neighborhood. This park is very poorly maintained and has narrow roads and spots. The park is also plagued with fire ants. When we pulled up to register my husband stopped in the designated area and stepped out of the vehicle into a pile of fire ants! The park also has several ridiculous policies, including the $25 charge if you want to be able to leave the park. The gate is always locked and they will only provide you with a key if you give them a $25 deposit, which they say they will return if you bring back the key in working order before checkout. They also nickel and dime you for every little thing, down to my four year old child (they said only my two other children were included in the rate and that I had to pay an extra $6 per day for my youngest child). Showers are dirty and don't have doors or curtains. Small camp store only has a few very over-priced items. We won't be back. We camped at San Jacinto Riverfront RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
