12 Parks near Houston, Texas
Oct 2015 - $50.00
Sites are concrete ad, very narrow. We were here for only 1 nite & our site was right next to office, laundry & showers. Very convenient but no privacy. Entire complex is mostly concrete, narrow strips of grass. Landscaping was nice & well maintained. Laundry was superb. Dog walk area & dog wash facility! Nice rec room & heated pool. Located in a very congested area in back of several car dealerships. Would not stay here for an extended period bit one nite was fine. - Hulda
Jun 2015 - $22.00
We stayed here for 6 weeks while working the floods of Memorial Day 2015. Owners are consistently grooming and cleaning the sites. There are a lot of workers of various occupations, but it's very quiet, people are friendly but not in your business. The laundry is clean with several options of cycles so the $2.50 seems fair. We kept a clothesline between the trees in the back of our RV for line drying and that was readily acceptable. The pool was treated 3 X/day for bugs and the most I saw using it were 3, including me. An exercise room, a computer room, and pool table rounded out the community hall. They recently added TengoInternet, have cable, and Wi-Fi works great. Very close to the 59, the 8, the 610 easy to get to any place in Houston. Found it to be a utilitarian city but lots of wonderful places to eat. Close to La Porte, Galveston, and Beaumont. Would come again anytime. - Barbara Smith
Oct 2014 - $40.00
Oasis in the City! If you have to be in the city of Houston and are RVing, this is an excellent place to stay. Amenities include pool, spa, exercise room, clean laundry and restrooms, clean and well-groomed sites, many with trees. Great for RVing business travelers or temporary work assignment accommodations. We had intended to stay monthly to spend time with family, but it wasn't conducive to activity with our grandchildren. We stayed one week for about $40/night. - HollyLouise
Nov 2015 - $8.00
Managers Bruce & Marjorie were great hosts. Park was immaculate, site great, Amenities terrific, Great cable and WI-FI. We stayed here a month on a special rate. Laundry room spacious, lots of machines, works on a card system. Newspapers, free coffee and popcorn in rec. hall, pool table and cardio machines. Media center with phone, fax and copier free to use. Only negative was near airport and Interstate so some noise. We would stay here again. - DBSnowbirds
Nov 2015 - $675.00
What a nice place to stay. I'm native Houstonian, and a northside girl to boot, so this was perfect for us. For a monthly it's high. But you get really good, fast, dependable wifi, plenty of cable channels, and we were right on the lake. The fitness room is nice, as is the laundry room. The media center was a bonus as well. They even have a dog wash station with hot and cold water AND a blow dryer. - TXTread
Sep 2015 - $21.00
We have been here for 3 months now & we wouldn't think about moving anywhere else. The facilities & amenities are always squared away & gratifying to use. The managers are always available to make sure that your stay exceeds your expectations. We would recommend this resort to anyone whether it is for a long stay or just a few days. You won't be disappointed. - ccjshoe
Oct 2015 - $65.00
Was in Houston for a conference. This is a very well managed park with nice amenities--even has a dog wash! Mostly concrete with some grass, but exceptionally clean. Level sites. Spotless restrooms and showers. - Rv quilter
Sep 2015 - $40.00
Full hook up, level concrete pad sites. Free propane grill use, heated pool, hot tub, game room, leashed dog friendly. - Nat27
Dec 2014 - $54.00
This is a new park in Houston and part of a chain of parks by the same owners around Houston. The park features all wide concrete streets with concrete sites. Most sites are back-in with limited pull-throughs. The park is well maintained with a nice combination lounge, pool and exercise area with very nice equipment. They have a separate computer room for those who need that equipment and a large laundry. The staff was very friendly. The park is gated and you are given a code for the keypad; however, they have brought in a large number of 5th wheels they rent as temporary monthly apartments for workers. The result is a park that is not friendly with many of those drivers who speed through the park although there are small children throughout the park. We saw some kids in the park that obviously did not belong inside the gate, so securing our RV was important unlike many parks where RVers looked out for each other. Fallbrook is a major road with sometimes heavy traffic due to schools on this road. For some reason, GPS fails to route you to the park even when you can almost see the park. There are many stores and a mall close by with most of the food establishments in the mall area. They have Wi-Fi in the park but it is unreliable. The water at the park is good but the pressure is weak. We might return if there was a specific reason we must stay in NE Houston. - Workamper04
May 2013 - $39.00
The park is clean. The sites are nice. I would stay here again if I had plans in Houston. The only issue I have is that many people live here in RV's. I prefer not to stay where people live in large numbers. I would suspect that most people here reside here. Most keep the area clean and you can't really tell that they reside there unless your look closely. However a few have really old campers in disrepair with junk around the camper. It's a bit creepy. The management needs to come down on these people or get them out as it messes it up for others. If they cant fit the junk in their camper then they store it outside. The staff was very nice and helpful. They are on site which makes it nice. I felt safe and it was quiet. Everyone appeared to stay to themselves and respect others. - RV4me16
Feb 2012 - $39.00
Stayed here 3 nights. Not good or bad. Used to be a KOA campground, but no longer. Bathrooms could use some sprucing up. Fairly quiet at night after the planes dwindle down. If back in area, think I'd look for another campground. Internet cut in and out. - PinkPanther
Jul 2009 - $43.00
Stayed here for a week the summer of 2009. Pool wasn't functional. Not really under construction, just torn up. Seemed to not have enough staff to keep up with keeping the park clean. Sites were OK. They did have a small bark park. Neighborhood was tough. OK for an overnight stop, but can't recommend it for a longer stay. - simsfmly
Dec 2015 - $30.00
As others have noted, this park is "very" close to a very busy highway and active train tracks, the traffic noise is significant and goes on 24 hours a day. We've put over 100K miles on our motorhome over a ten year period and this is by far the noisiest park we have "ever" stayed in. If you need to be here for attending one of the many medical facilities, they do have a reduced monthly rate and a free shuttle bus. Other comments: "Very" well maintained park, all concrete interior roads and pads, management permits vehicles to park on the interior roads and not in their assign space which can make maneuvering difficult. Large laundry that's well maintained with an attendant, large rec room, great restroom/shower facility. This is one of the few parks we've been in with a dog wash station that's free (we used it.) Also, I estimate this park is comprised of 90% full-timers in trailers and 5th wheels (be careful walking the dog in the dark about 6AM - lots of pickup trucks heading out for work.) They do have rental park models if you need to be here and don't have an RV. - John - Tx Hill Country
May 2015 - $45.00
It's a great campground in the WRONG location. It's nice, clean and beautiful in the campground but it is surrounded by Highways! We stayed 3 nights and couldn't sleep. Don't take it lightly, if you either a light sleeper or sensitive sleeper. You may find very specific sites where it will be less but in general the entire campground is beautiful but noisy! If you do decide to book there just let them know you do not want to be next to ANY highway or road. Other than that, they have a great recreation room with lots of fun games, free popcorn and ice machine, good exercise equipment as well. The people we met were very nice as well. The park is paved and has nice personal grass area. The sites are very close to each other.
We would not stay there again, it was not worth the money. - MikeMayNaama
Mar 2015 - $49.00
Feel this park is excellent for access to Houston, but is over priced by about $10 for the location on a major highway with road noise 24 hours a day. One of the nicest parks we stay at, very well kept and basically the best choice to be close to the Texas Medical Center. One caution make reservations well in advance as they frequently are full. - Teacher's Pet
Jul 2012 - $30.00
I stayed here in this RV / Mobile home park for 3 months. It's an OK place. It's MOSTLY quiet. I did have a few problems with it tho. Loose running dogs throughout the site would often attack. I walk my small dog on a leash and had been attacked by other loose dogs 9 times. There is a specific family in the park that like to have VERY LOUD live music with mariachi bands that run late into the night. The music was so loud, almost the whole park could hear it and had to deal with it. The manager is a complete space case. Aside from being illiterate, she flakes out on everything she says. She is hardly ever on site and goes on "vacation" often. The swimming pool was mostly filthy all the time. Once the swimming pool was closed due to feces being in the pool. They also inflate your electric bill that you pay directly to them. I've never in my life had such a large electric bill in an RV. The electric bill was about the same as when I lived in my 2500 square foot HOUSE. The only nice things I can say about the park is... it is pretty. A lot of shade trees. And is mostly clean. The laundry facility was working and clean also. - Forestwoman
Dec 2015 - $33.00
Planes, trains and automobiles!!!! No kidding, this is the nosiest campground we have ever stayed in. Right next to a highway on one side, and a railroad on the other and most of Houston's air traffic overhead. Sirens! Train horns! Planes! My family Hates the noise. Maybe, like we did, you look at this resort online and think it's in a nice "out of town" lake area. Well, it's a man-made pond with a fountain in the middle, surrounded by concrete RV pads. They created this resort in the middle of an industrial warehouse area and when you drive into the nearby commercial district, it's not a pretty/or safe part of town. This park is tight- close concrete pads- ours just happens to be a giant puddle after the rain, but it doesn't look like anyone else is. The campground only has one bathroom. So if you need or want this, is a bit of a walk. Half the sites are occupied by full-time laborers.
Pros: clean and well-maintained, nice laundry room, beautiful little heated pool, close to the city, secure.
We will not be staying here again. - Susiecamera
Jun 2015 - $50.00
One of the best RV resorts/parks we have been to! Beautifully landscaped, well maintained, lots of amenities (FREE dog washing center, dog run, recreation room, exercise room, coffee, popcorn, pool, gorgeous stocked pond). The spots are tight but comfortable. Fantastic laundry room with top of the line industrial washers and dryers. The staff are very friendly and accommodating!
I'm a sucker for a good sunset, and I wasn't disappointed here! The beautiful orange, coral, yellow, pink sunsets over the lake while swimming with my kiddos in the pool was nothing short of awesome! So grateful we found this place; just wish we found it sooner! - RachaelJ
Jan 2015 - $21.00
This was the second time we stayed at the park. The first time was 6 months and this time was 1 year. It is a very nice park, very clean, and good staff. The reasons I didn't give a 10 was the noise from the trains at night. During the summer a box fan drowned out the noise. This time we had a couple of neighbors that needed lessons in RV etiquette but these were not the park or staffs faults. We would stay again if we work in the area again. - BJ&ME
Dec 2013 - $26.00
Overall first impression was the camground looked very old. Mostly Long termer here, which is not an issue. Assigned a site and found it was filled. On Duty Manager stated "well if they won't move, I'll shoot out their tires" Second site the electrical meter was broken and live power appeared to be exposed. Site was noting but an uneven hole. Third site more level but uneven ground. Slab was poured crooked which made t hard to back in. Went to hook up power at panel and found inside cover missing "EXPOSED BUSSES". Since I knew something about electricity, I was able to plug in, but a child or unsuspecting adult could get electrocuted very easily. Place needs a ton of work. basically bull doze and start over. Spaces are too tight, I was in a 23 ft Jayco 5th wheel and had problems. Not enough room. Will not return! Good Sam needs to re-evaluate this campground. The rating it gives are too high! - mark-frm-Ne
May 2005 - $22.00
This campground is in poor condition. No one available in office (even to take your money). Rough neighborhood and mostly occupied by permanent residents. Good Sam needs to go out and re-evaluate this campground. We stayed one night so we could visit friends in Houston and would never return to this campground. - jahiggins
Jan 2016 - $42.00
This is a gated facility within the Houston city limits. We had read that a lot of patients seeking extended medical care stayed here and found this is true. We read about road noise and were fortunate to get a site in the middle of the park that was not too loud. The person who greater us the office and her husband were very nice and helpful. However, they don't own the park and seemed to be hand tied by lack of funds. The restrooms should be closed! The access ramp is far too steep, clearly not up to code. Really not sure why Good Sam would rate them so highly. If you have another option, I would seriously consider staying somewhere else. - Ncw
Mar 2015 - $50.00
If you only need a convenient place close to the Houston Med center or NRG stadium complex, this facility is fine. But beware.....there are issues to mention. The roads are very tight. Large rigs will fit but only after a lot of maneuvering and stressful nail biting. The staff is very helpful assisting with this task.
The sites are level and there is a nice concrete patio and quite a bit of shade about the grounds. But beware...the hook-ups work fine but are located at the very back of the site. I had to use my electrical extension cord to reach the pedestal and 2 sections of sewer hose to reach the dump drop. Cable TV is available but half of the channels were fuzzy.
Speed bumps...UNBELIEVABLE...they are everywhere and way too close to each other. Total Overkill. It's not like you can get up to any speed on the narrow tight roads that are also lined with tow vehicles. They could easily eliminate half (or more) of these and still be effective with controlling the non-existent hot-roders
And the Noise. If extreme noise is a problem pick another facility. This park is inches from a very busy Main Street. The noise is 24/7. Loud trucks, fast obnoxious cars, and sirens at 3am.
This facility was satisfactory for what we needed, but certainly not a pristine experience. - Tcamper
Jan 2015 - $38.00
Most people in this park seem to be here for weeks or months for medical treatment so if you are only here for a few nights they put you on sites that are right by Main Rd which is busy and noisy 24/7. We were on site 72 and I think this is mainly used for storage as there wasn't even a cable hook up. Staff was very helpful putting us on site but when I asked about a quieter site he said there weren't any. We booked ahead so if this was the case I feel we should have been informed of the close proximity to the road. Access to the park is also confusing as you enter by a sharp right turn and are confronted by locked gates, we carried on up the road looking for another entrance and ended up having to work our way back round - another thing it would have been helpful to have been told when we phoned. We would not stay here again and would not recommend the park for tourists. - 2onthemove
Dec 2015 - $50.00
Aside from the narrow one lane road to get to the park, the park staff and grounds are great. We have a shorter site than we like but then, it was the last monthly site for December. We had to leave another location and this was the closest to our family so we could spend Christmas with her.
Park is smaller than expected but great for walking. They have a dog walk for our critters but the code for the gate is a hassle but understandable since the park is in Houston (Pearland area). Dog pickup bags are located throughout the park in several areas. WiFi is free and through Tengo. It looks like there are a lot of people who full time in the park, but check with the office EARLY to get a prime spot. The staff is great to work with.
We will be back. - PatJ3
Apr 2015 - $50.00
Park is kept clean and manicured. Sites are level. Access road is very narrow, and is very difficult at times to turn onto connecting road, as traffic is constant. Park is very crowded, neighbors very close, not allowing much privacy, which some long- term residents tend to invade. Dog area is outside the park, unmowed, and not fenced. Many do not pick up after their dogs inside the park. Very expensive park, fees are the same as sister parks that do have pools. Power outages whenever it storms, were without electricity for two days at a time. Not many reasons to refer to it as a resort. No plans to return. Not a destination park. - Ron910
Apr 2015 - $50.00
Clean, Quiet, Safe, Convenient, excellent staff! All roads, sites, and patios are paved. Each Site has table. Beautiful fishing lake with deck. Main building houses office, great rec room with tread mills and weight machine. Really nice laundry room. Enjoy sitting in their rocking chairs overlooking lake in afternoon and watching people fish. - Motorhome rv'r
Dec 2015 - $43.00
We stayed 2 months this time. We have been in the park several times since 2004. Pads are concrete. Some are pull-thru in long term area. In the area set aside for the guest coming for a night or a few weeks, all sites are pull-thru. Good water pressure and Verizon. All sites are 30/50 amp with good power running about 116-118-volts. If you are arriving, take the right gate with RV clearance. RVers in and out of the park, they don't charge a parking fee. They have just changed the park WiFi and it is excellent. Will return again the end of 2016. - Workamper04
Mar 2015 - $30.00
Great site for an overnight, but call ahead to be sure they have availability -- we came in at 4:00pm and got the last pull-thru on a weekday. Events evidently keep this place busy. Concrete pad was level, all utilities easy to reach, no problem positioning the dish for satellite service and everything we saw was clean and well maintained. Biggest problem was pulling into the park; we sat through four green lights at the two-lane entrance signalling our turn while a long line of cars improperly exited here instead of going one block further to the clearly marked exit. After incurring the road rage of those trapped behind us for 10 minutes, we finally lost patience and simply began our wide turn, blocking their way and causing several to hastily back-up or pull right. - peakcomm
Jun 2014 - $30.00
All roads are concrete and the pads are concrete. All sites seem to have full hookups. We used our satellite so I am not sure if the cable TV worked or not. The laundry room (the one that is open) is clean and the washers worked well. When you use the dryers put in a dollar and let it run. Using less lengthens the time it takes to dry your clothes. If you are there on the weekend and have children along, you can buy them a wrist band for $9.75/day that gives them unlimited rides on 11 different attractions in the "flea market". The rate is great; $30 per night. This park should be considered as having no internet access. Another reviewer pointed out that they were working on it in December. It is still not functional in June. The sites are close together so you are forced to walk on the narrow lawn areas between the rigs which are hilly and awkward or walk around on an empty pad (if it exists). The sewers do not have a positive lock (you cannot screw in a retainer ring) so you have to put a weight on the end of the line to make sure it stays in the drain. You are just sitting on a concrete slab which gets a bit warm this time of year and all the trees are in the back where the shorter rigs and full-time residents live. But, if you are not staying long this is not a big issue. The park is located on the north-western corner of Houston which turns out to be quite a way from attractions like the Houston Space Center. You just need to factor this into consideration for the gas you will use to get to the attractions. Things that were different for us versus other reviews: We followed the directions given by the park on their website about how to get there and did not have any problems finding the sign and finding the correct entrance. There is a clear separation between the RV Park and the flea market. We never noticed any flea market personnel near any of the RVs in the park. The lot closest to the RVs is typically used by vendors who are far too busy with their setup to be of any nuisance to RVers. I only mention this since we were concerned about this issue given an earlier review on the subject. We found it a non-issue. We would stay in this park again if we were in this area again. - Bob Stokesbary
Jan 2005 - $36.00
This is a mobile home park that will rent spaces to R.V. campers. The park is fairly dated, but kept clean and the staff is excellent. Located beside Hobby Airport, its a short drive to downtown Houston and all its attractions. Will visit again. - txtransplants
