We always like Corps of Engineers campgrounds and Twin Dikes Park on Sam Rayburn Reservoir near Jasper, TX is no exception. This is a great campground. There are a variety of spacious well-laid-out campsites ranging from full hookups with screened shelters (even running water in the sink) down to nice tent sites nearer the lake. The full hookup loop has 30 amp electric while the water/electric sites have 50 amp service. The park is clean with wide paved roads and paved campsites. This is a first rate campground in a pretty setting. I was able to get two of my three Dish satellites for TV and our Verizon 4G signal was very good. This is a popular campground that stays busy, especially on weekends so reservations are highly recommended. The next time we come this way we'll plan on a longer stay. We camped at Twin Dikes COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Great spot with full hook ups, which are rare at COE parks. The reason for the bad rating on service, no one was at the entry booth. If this had been our first visit it would have been very confusing. and it isn't for lack of people. There are 4 couples parked near the entry booth who are volunteers but they are not being required by the managers to be in the booth since it is off season. I think that since they are getting a free site they should be in the booth at all times. What if I didn't have a reservation and wanted to pay at the booth. Aggravating! otherwise a nice stay at a nice park. Our discount was with our Senior Access Card. We camped at Twin Dikes COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:
Mainly boating and fishing. But it is a very relaxing place. Shopping is in Jasper, about 10 miles away. there is a Super Walmart there.

Lovely park and very peaceful, even when full over the Easter week-end. Beautiful lake and the views are spectacular. Only downside is the lack of a sewer hookup at our site. Also, they do not have a dock at the boat ramp which is a real necessity for boaters. We really enjoyed our stay here and will return. We camped at Twin Dikes COE in a Fifth Wheel.

I must say Twin Dikes is one of nicest Corp parks we have stayed in. The camp host was friendly, and we had a choice of 4 full hook up sites. We were lucky to find a nice back up site which was fairly straight. Many of the sites are curved and slanted upward making it difficult to back a rig into them. It was very quiet, and since it was off season, we didn't have to hear yelping kids. Also nice to have a burn ban in effect, so we didn't have to smell someone else's smoke ring; nice to open the windows and smell the cool fresh air. Would recommend this park, especially for the off season. We camped at Twin Dikes COE in a Motorhome.
We can't say enough good things about this park. It is one of the few Corp parks that has a few full hookup sites. The park was clean and there are good places to walk. The workers were very friendly and helpful. We recommend it. We camped at Twin Dikes COE in a Motorhome.

This park is wonderful. It is small but the sites are large. All sites have a view of Lake Sam Ray Burn. We were within 15 minutes of Jasper, which has a Super Wal-Mart as well as HEB etc. We were within 30 minutes of Lufkin which had all the big stores. We use Verizon cell phones and wireless internet and we had a good strong signal at all times. We only paid $9.00 per night because we are seniors. Great park!
