Rate reflects Senior Pass. Very pretty park on shore of Lake O The Pines. Part of a complex of several COE parks. Gate attendants are very nice, helpful and knowledgeable about both the park and area. We were in Area 2 which is nice, sites away from the water are more spacious. Power voltage was very high and we had problems with shut offs. Our EMS showed up to 130 volts at times. The park staff came and check the line and felt the problem was from the local electric company.

We ended up moving to the other area, Area 1 which is newer and had steady 124v power. Water pressure was about 65PSI. Sites in this loops are level and spacious: all with very nice lake views. Only issue with Area 1 is that is it right next to their "group camp" and we were unfortunate enough to have a wedding taking place the weekend we were here. So loud music and traffic into the early hours. We might stay here again, but would ensure nothing is happening at that group camp area. We camped at Alley Creek Camp in a Motorhome.

Second stay in 3 years. We stayed in the group site this time and last time too. Wonderful quiet location. Group sites are not for big rigs over say, 32'. Excellent lake views. Only issues we have is that the group shower house showers have a < 3 minute hot water supply so they are basically useless unless you are just rinsing off, making a 150 yard+ walk to the next shower house, (which is basically like new). Other issue is an open gate overnight so anyone can come and go at will We camped at Alley Creek Camp in a Motorhome.

We stayed in the new area, non reserve, and loved it. The pads were very large with room for the picnic table and large enough for our motorcycles and trailer. The only drawback to the lake sites, is the pads are built up, so the incline is not a gentle slope getting down to the campfire ring and water. The restrooms had a lot of bugs in them in the morning from the street lights, but otherwise were clean. The Camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. There are very clean and well kept grounds. We camped at Alley Creek Camp in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful park: has great swimming (not too cold or too warm), and a beautiful view with several deer roaming around. Only a few pull-through sites. Has friendly staff. Army Corps owned and run (open to civilians, of course). Only negative was the lack of cell service through most of the park and no WiFi. Otherwise we loved it. We camped at Alley Creek Camp in a Motorhome.

Great host. Gave me a ride around in a golf cart allowing me to pick the site I wanted. I didn't see a bad one. Just a matter of which side your awning and hook ups are on and if you want the sun shining on you or not. This Camp is only an hour or so from us. We will be back. Golden Passport honored here. We camped at Alley Creek Camp in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: March, 2007 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Alley Creek Camp on Lake O' The Pines is a Corps of Engineers campground with many RV pads lakeside. (Number 22 in Area 2 is great!) Grounds were well kept, employees very friendly and helpful, restrooms clean, swimming beach clean and sandy, RV pads level with picnic table, fire ring (bring firewood) and lantern post. Lots of trees and shade. The weather during Spring Break, 2007 was perfect, but I would think that heat and bugs would be significant during July and August. Has a very nice tent camping area. Excellent campground overall. We camped at Alley Creek Camp in a Motorhome.
