Talk about confusing. All sites with water and electric are reservation only. We arrived to find only one other RV in the whole campground and all the water/electric sites padlocked closed. The fee for the electric only sites was the same as the W/E sites. After consulting with the very accommodating host, we were able to get a W/E site for one night. All the sites could use some work, but it looked as if some upgrades were being done. The area is very pretty with large pines and hardwoods. We would stay here again if passing through. There is not much to do in area. The fee was golden age price. We camped at Ratcliff Lake in a Travel Trailer.Undo

This is the same reviewer as below, with the 8/10 rating. I want to correct the first review in that there are four "full" hook-up sites, and 9 additional sites with water and electricity that can be reserved through the Recreational Government website. Also, there are now two restroom facilities on the RV loop that have "hot" showers. The showers and restrooms are normally cleaned on Friday, so they're clean for part of the weekend, but get rather messy by the end of the week. This is still a great park to take your kids and really camp in the great outdoors! We camped at Ratcliff Lake in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

This is a National Forest park so it is not designed to be like a commercial RV park. If you're looking to camp in a natural area -- in this case a mixed pine-hardwood forest--where deer, squirrels, and other wildlife are available then this is your place. A 40 acre lake, which has yielded a 12+ pound bass is available, as are rental paddle boats. Only four sites have four hook-ups, and usually one or two of those are used by work camper hosts. The sites are usually limited to 35' units, with all being back-ins. It's an older, CCC-built park but they have made many changes lately and are trying to improve the park. The showers are clean but COLD--no hot water! If you have kids and want to have a real camping experience, then this is a great park for you. If you just want a overnight stay and are in the East Texas area it will serve that purpose well. Just don't expect WiFi, swimming pools, cable and other such things as one would find in a more urban or commercial setting. We camped at Ratcliff Lake in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

National Forest campground. Sites for RV's and tents. Some sites have electricity, water, and or sewer hook-ups. Reservations through Reserve America. Many RV sites are "tight" and only suitable for RV's under 28'. All sites are in the trees. Site aprons and roads are mostly unlevel and in need of repair. Overall, facilities are old, in need of repair, but most are usable. We camped at Ratcliff Lake in a Fifth Wheel.Undo
