It deserves the 10-10-10 rating by Woodall's!! Everything works including cable and wifi - super nice staff. Nice extra touch of rock areas where water would accumulate in heavy rain - to eliminate any mud. When it's raining we search for concrete pad sites!! The nightly rate is based on the weekly rate we paid. The park is clean, all paved, concrete pads, wide sites with grass between them. There are activities and breakfasts in the barn. We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Motorhome.Undo

It just doesn't get any better than this. This park only has three surfaces: pavement, concrete, or grass. Sites are perfectly level and hook-ups are state of the art. The people are wonderful. We had a small ant colony we reported to the staff, and within two minutes the gardener was at our site with spray and poison. Stay here any time you get a chance.. We camped in site 6051 and got the rally camping rate. We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Motorhome.Undo

Rate reflects the Good Sam rate in the adults only/executive section of the park. Phenomenal RV park! No complaints whatsoever. Very beautiful setting. Everything is in tip top shape. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the adults only section, and the adults only pool. Water, power, and cable were good. Wi-Fi was OK, it took some constant tinkering, as some networks seemed to "time out" or freeze up. But, there are enough Wi-Fi networks available, I would just connect to another network and it worked fine. BBQ dinner and ice cream social on Sunday night for the Labor Day weekend were well attended. My only wish is that this park was closer than 4 hours from home for us. We will be back for sure, and I would recommend this park to anyone. Office staff and grounds staff were great, and the store in the office was well stocked, and had very fair prices ($3 for a good sized bottle of BBQ sauce, probably would have cost $4 or $5 at HEB). This is our favorite park we have stayed in yet, and we did so based on the reviews on this site. Thanks Buckhorn for a great time, and keep up the outstanding work! Excellent RV park. Site was a long, concrete, level pad with plenty of room between sites. No real shade to speak of at the waterview sites, so took a pull-through. Our site (#6065) had lots of shade, so would recommend. Wi-Fi worked great, and cable had plenty of channels. Easy access from I-10, but a little road noise comes with that. Couldn't hear the noise inside the RV. Plenty of walking space, and there is an off-leash dog park. Rate reflects a Good Sam discount. We would stay here again. Rate is after Good Sam discount. Always A++++ RV resort. Strong WiFi, shade trees, immaculately maintained, very nice staff, great for rally's, quiet and easy access off I-10 freeway. About 7 miles into town and about 4 miles to HEB grocery store. We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Motorhome.Undo

Do not often give a 10 but this is one RV park with resort in the name that actually is one. Level concrete pull-through and back-in sites. Rate is for back-in with Good Sam discount. Good facilities, e.g., event hall, 2 pools, etc. Has a private owner-only access area, an adult only area, and a general area. Laundry is a bit pricey but comes with the upscale features. Curbside daily trash pickup. Will stay here the next time through this part of TX. We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

This is an exceptionally good resort. All pads are level concrete and all drives are asphalt or concrete. Grounds were neat. There is an excellent park for walking dogs that includes a large fenced area for activities off leash. Our rate was a rally rate. There were excellent meeting rooms for the rally. Only downside was constant noise from gasoline engines on pressure washers during the day. It is an upscale community and many "coach washers" were on site each day. Nightly rate for river view (well worth it!). Showers large and clean, heated swimming pool. Hookups were great, good water pressure and electrical power. Concrete pads, asphalt roads, landscaping. (We choose our parks based on RVParkReviews.com, so we "luck out" more often than not.) We would give this one an 11 if it were possible. We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Motorhome.Undo

We are in our 12th year of fulltime RVing and this park is in the top five of all the parks we have stayed. There are very few parks in this country where the WiFi is good. So, we have our own MiFi which is what anyone who really needs the internet should have. Thus said, I give this park a 10/10 rating. Friendly staff, convenient, good cable, clean, nice sized lots. Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $38.00
This is a big rig friendly park. Showers and laundry are a little far from perimeter. Has leased sites across the stream and an adult only section. Facilities are well planned and sites are separated nicely, with many trees. Utilities all functioned properly. Although in sight of I-10, noise is minimal. Easy distance from Fredricksburg. Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $42.00
Very nice resort. Concrete pads and roads, well maintained facility with a nice store (wine!) and cabins (we didn't use them). Decent WiFi. There are fancy houses on the other side of the "river/lake/whatever" that divides the motor homes (etc) from the houses. It was a little too up-scale for us. The only reason this place doesn't get a 9 or 10 is the road noise, which is aggravated by tire noise on the I-10 bridge. We would stay here again especially if we want to explore the hill country. This is a really nice park in a great location to travel and visit the Hill Country. The TV was OK, nice pool and activity room. There is also a very good store. The lots are adequate in size. There is entertainment in the barn that comes to the resort for a dinner and show. When I was there they had a country singer that had a few records out and people came from outside to hear him. There are trips from the resort by bus. The downside is the Park is pricey. $245 a week plus electric. I was charged $40 for one weeks electric and because I didn’t read the meter when I got there. Oh well. I have never had a electric bill over $118 a month at their .14 Kw rate. They advertise free internet and it is basically non existent. But you can buy internet from them for $7 a week. I had propane delivered while I was away and that was added to my bill but I never got the bill. I really liked the place but I felt like I got nickel and dimed at every turn. This park is very nice but I can't give it a 10 because the WiFi is very slow. Neither of the pools are heated even though the park is full. Yes it is immaculate with paved roads, concrete pads, grass, two pools, fitness center, most pull thrus, a stream, and ponds. At the price and with such great amenities, it is inexcusable today to have such poor WiFi. We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

Not as "homey" as some of the other TX Resorts we have frequented but nothing missing from being a true Resort. Pools (one adult and one kid friendly), exercise room, event hall, outdoor grill, fishing on the property, large off leash dog park, kids play area, seemed a little narrow getting to our site and a bit hard to turn our 45' around the corners, but there were some shaded sites and we fit fine with all 4 slides out. There is the ability to lease casita's if you own a Class A rig. Lots of events. On the down side, close to major highway, very near large utility wires and I only was able to get WiFi after 11pm. Other than road noise, it was quiet. We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Motorhome.Undo
