This is really a resort. Lots of classy rigs here, even stick built homes across the pond. Close to town. Many stay here all winter. We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Motorhome.

Excellent office staff. We have stayed here many times. One of top Rv resorts in Texas. Beautiful grounds, Rv sites and easy access from I-10. Short drive into town with lots of shopping, restaurants, speciality shops, Walmart, HEB grocery, etc? Some slight noise from I-10 traffic if your site is on freeway side. Excellent pools- one is adult, exercise facility, pickle ball & tennis courts, library, rec halls, outdoor social bar, movie theatre, general store, etc. We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Property is not gated at night but well lighted. Wifi & cable strong. curbside trash pickup. Separate ownership section. Easy access to Rv resort from I-10...suggest reservations. I am told a large medical complex. USNails & Spa was great in town...Some sites in center of resort have some huge trees that could block your Sat reception.

My wife and I found this "GEM" of an RV resort/park while checking out RV reviews in the fall of 2016. We had been wintering in Fredericksburg, previously. We reserved the month of April in 2017 and enjoyed our stay immensely. Lots to do. Not far into Kerrville or even a short drive to Fredericksburg, if one wishes. Much to do. Dining out, shopping, grocery stores, etc. and just a short drive. You can participate in senior activities as much as you like or just stay to yourselves. All the roads and pads (sites) are paved. Some commented that the nearby highway can be noisy, but we did not notice any noise where we were located. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. WiFi needed work because the reception was somewhat weak and spotty, to say the least. I think they were planning to add more WiFi stations soon after our stay. Hoping this improves as the only WiFi that was acceptable was the club house, laundry, and office. No shade trees to speak of, except our site and I'm not giving that out. Negative about our tree?... Bird poop, but you get that with trees. Always washing our truck. We stayed in our 5th wheel. There is an RV washing service, if needed. RV washers/detailers come into the park and offer their services. (arrangement with management). Somewhat pricey, but they have to make a living and do a 90% job. Have reserved our 2018 stay for March/April. Decided to extend a month over 2017 because this park is just so nice. We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Nicest resort ( truly a resort ! ) we have ever stayed in. Sites are all concrete and grass. We stayed on a pull-in, very nice. The park was decorated for Christmas, beautifully done. Everything is top notch. Wide roads, nice lots, great staff, little store, movie night and plenty of other activities. We stayed a week but would be a great place to stay the winter. We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Motorhome.

This is an excellent park, well laid out, wide paved roads, paved, concrete pads, and grass, with patio, and extra long. Ample pull-throughs and back in sights as well. Number of sites are waterfront sites, and as a plus they have an Executive Adults Only section with its own pool, hot tub, bath and shower house. Friendly staff with well stocked store. 4 pickle ball courts and 1 tennis court. Two pools with hot tubs (one adult only). Good WiFi (most of the time), convenient to I-10, easy on/off, though can be noisy, but not too bad. Convenient to Kerrville, Comfort and Fredericksburg (nice to be here W/O the traffic of Fburg). We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There really isn't that much to do in Kerrville that was of interest. We ate lunch at Rails which was excellent. Visited James Avery. Go to Comfort. Their downtown area was so cute and clever. Miss Giddys was my favorite. Eat at Hays!

We only stayed overnight on our way back to the West Coast. Very large concrete pads. Plenty of room for our RV and tow. Nice patio. They have nice wide paved streets. Nice dog park for the pooches too! There was a lot of road noise from I-10. We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Stayed in this park for 2 nights in mid September. Convenient access from I-10 westbound. Did not really use any of the facilities besides the shower/bathroom area. One of the pools had been drained for maintenance issues. Nice long pull through spots (level). Spaces were about 10-12 feet from neighbor next door. Nice concrete patio at each spot. It is near the interstate, but road noise not too bad with A/C on. It does have cable TV plus free WiFi. We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The RV park is very convenient to I-10 interstate. We stayed at the park while attending a reunion in Kerrville. It is about 5 miles west of Kerrville, but has handy access to the interstate. No restaurants nearby, but easy to get to Kerrville for groceries and/or shopping.

Overall Rating:

The resort is conveniently located off of I-10 and appears nice from the road. The staff was less than thrilled to see me, I didnt appreciate the way they greet new guests. The sites are nice but it was too much like a concrete neighborhood for me. I prefer alittle more nature and less highway. The breaker tripped multiple times (which hasn't happened in any other campground I've been). The WIFI is a complete joke and unreliable. The highest speed result i got was 0.98mbps! Rude people were all around popping fireworks in the street (July 4th) and I didn't really feel welcome. We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Still the best in Texas. Asphalt interior roads, level concrete pads. This park is well maintained and the staff is friendly. Lots of amenities. Great adult section with it's own shower/laundry building and pool. Great park for rallys. Easy access to interstate 10. One hour drive to San Antonio. Local town has good shopping for basic needs. Super Walmart 10 minutes away. We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Motorhome.

One of my favorite RV resorts in Texas, if they would clean the showers and restrooms every day (not every second day) I would give this resort a 10! Big concrete sides and wide paved streets make it easy to navigate and hook up the RV. There is also a nice fanced dog run and a very quiet area for adults only with a extra pool, restrooms and showers. The internet is good but the wifi signal is not very strong but for around $25 per month you can rent your own Internet box and with your wifi router you enjoy your own strong internet connection. We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Motorhome.

We were last here 4 years ago and gave this park one of its less than glowing reviews. This time was similar. This park would be a "Great place to stay for a few days" as long as you are the kind of customer they prefer. Having a "glory suit" would help you fit right in. The sites are FHU, but ours was not level. The cable was OK, but the Wi-Fi was useless. Once again, we (and my 50ish, very professional, mixed niece who visited us from Dallas) felt very uncomfortable in this atmosphere. We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Motorhome.

Here for a rally. Great park. Loved the wide open areas behind our site, 6111. Great for the dogs. Nice maintenance man who loaned me tool to fix a slide. Clean park with excellent facilities. About a 10 min. drive to town. Close to I-10 very convenient but some road noise. Would definitely go back. We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Motorhome.
