Really nice park for a reasonable fee. River side loop has easy access to river and greenbelt path. The loop across the road is forested with access to hiking/MTB trails. We camped at Kerrville-Schreiner Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Greenbelt path is nice. If you like mountain biking, check out the trails off the other loop across the road. We visited the WW2 museum but didn't enjoy it as much as the WW1 museum in Kansas City. Kerrville has everything you need. Visit Fredricksburg if you're into wine. Propane at KOA, but they charge by the tank.

This was our second stay at this former state park campground and we knew enough to get a Deerfield Loop FHU site down the hill from our previous W/E site. The only difficulty is having to check in and get the gate code in the smaller, cramped, riverside section of the park, then turn the RV around and cross the busy road to the larger, more spacious section of the park. But, being right in town, close to relatives, shopping, and restaurants, this park couldn't be any more convenient or practical for our stay. We will very likely stay here again in the future. We camped at Kerrville-Schreiner Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Great natural setting. We stayed on the opposite side from the river. Sites are arranged to give some privacy. This is a city run park. Great location for visiting the Hill Country with all it has to offer. We camped at Kerrville-Schreiner Park in a Fifth Wheel.

WOW - what a great campground in a municipal park! Two weeks prior, we made reservations through the Park website where we were able to select our exact camp site. We arrived right before 1pm on a Friday and was processed quickly and given directions to Deer Field Loop,, which is on the other side of Bandera Highway, not next to the Guadalupe River, and thru a closed gate requiring an access code. Deer Field Loop is only pull-thru sites with full hook ups. There is no cable or wifi. Very level asphalt sites, concrete picnic table, fire ring, partial shade and utility hook-ups close to each site that were in good condition. Sites had very good distance from the next site. There were 4 other RVs in this loop during this weekend and a couple tents and pop-ups in the nearby camping area, so it was very quiet the entire weekend. We did not hear any noise from Highway 173, but we did notice this Park is on the approach pattern for the Kerrville Municipal Airport, so the low-flying aircraft/helicopters were interesting. Loved having the deer roaming around in the mornings and evenings. I suppose the 100 degree weather kept campers away. Even though we didn't use the public restrooms/showers, we did a quick walk thru to see the condition and they appeared to be very clean except for the moldy shower curtain in the women's shower. I would of rated this "excellent", but the concrete picnic table was approximately 50 feet from our RV in a grassy, full sun area and it was unmovable and therefore not useable. We camped at Kerrville-Schreiner Park in a Travel Trailer.

Former state park now run by the city. Nicely spaced asphalt sites. Riverside area has significant car noise from two sides. Not a problem at night. Only complaint is the oddly located utility hook ups. Water and power on one side, sewer on other in Sycamore loop. In other loops they were on same side but sewer very far away. That being said, we will return. We camped at Kerrville-Schreiner Park in a Motorhome.

This review is for the Riverside Campground, along the Guadalupe River. Clean, quiet, campground run by the City of Kerrville. Good, paved interior roads. Site are half-circle pull-throughs along campground loop. We stayed in Sycamore Circle; 50-amp, full hookup, roomy sites with grass, trees, a river view, and nearby river access. This is a very nice park; we will definitely stay here again. We camped at Kerrville-Schreiner Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Dry camping at a city park along the banks of the South LLano River. Directions: From East bound Interstate 10. Take exit 456 and follow it into the town of Junction ( it becomes main street ). You will see a bridge that crosses the Llano River, just before crossing it turn to the left and go down to the river, this is the City Park - AKA: Schreiner Park. There are a few wides spots off the road and a couple of 'pull thurs' in the trees, pick one and enjoy a peaceful evening. When you leave in the morning, go over the bridge and travel a few miles before reconnecting with Interstate 10 east bound! We camped at Kerrville-Schreiner Park in a Motorhome.

We've enjoyed this park before. It is a good place when passing through for the night or a few days get away. Verizon signal is good here. Good over the air TV channels. Site 213 was not very level side to side. We camped at Kerrville-Schreiner Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is the perfect stop if you're headed west from Austin or San Antonio. The town of Fredrickburg was amazingly cool. It's a german based town with lots of great food, and drinking in the streets. The shopping was great. Kerrville itself was also a nice little town. All of the necessities are in Kerrville. The park itself was beautiful with excellent hiking trails. There are 2 distinct camping loops. I was in the river side in the 50 amp full hookups. The other side is more private and larger. There's a company out of Bandera, TX who will deliver propane to the RV here. Mission Gas...call them if you need propane filled. The only negative thing I can say about this place is the noise from the highway was really bad. I'm not overly picky about campsites being dead quiet. This was the worst I have stayed in. Site accessibility (Excellent roads, easy to park) - 4 Campground location (30 min drive to Fredricksburg, 5 min to Kerrville) - 4 Nearby amenities (Everything you could need was within a few miles) - 5 Site Privacy (The river side was pretty wide open. The other loop was more private) - 3 Campground amenities (No laundry. Dumpsters were easily accessible. The bathrooms were clean) - 3 Dog friendly (Great hiking trails. Accessible directly from the campsites) - 5 Activities (Hiking, shopping/dining) - 4 Cost ($28/night for 50amp full hookups) - 5 Staff friendliness (nice staff who left you alone) - 4 Connectivity (Good voice signal w/out a booster for both ATT and Verizon. Verizon internet was sluggish and in and out. Maybe the towers were having issues but I struggled to keep an even connection during the day. Streaming at night was fine though. OTA was limited to only a couple of crappy channels) - 2 Total rating = 3.9. We camped at Kerrville-Schreiner Park in a Motorhome.

GPS had a little trouble getting here as it took us to a park entrance across the highway. Once we got checked in at the park office on the right side of the highway by a courteous staff we headed to our site. Here is where it got even more interesting. The hookup locations are strange which causes you to approach the site with the power pedestal on your hookup side. But that is backwards as the sewer connection is on the other side, and the covered patio is on the electrical side. Once we got settled in at the right direction it was fairly easy to hookup, although we needed a long water hose and our extension on our sewer hose. The park roads and sites are asphalt. We were in the Sycamore Loop which is all 50a FHU pullthrus. Most sites have a good line of sight for our roof mounted satellite dish. This really is more of a weekend park than a destination for full-timers. There is no clubhouse or social activities of any kind. We camped at Kerrville-Schreiner Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed overnight as we passed through. Easy access from I 10. County road passed by close to our site so we had some road noise. Most of the sites in our section were mostly shaded. Large pull through sites are level gravel or blacktop. Full hookup, good water pressure. We camped at Kerrville-Schreiner Park in a Truck Camper.

Stayed 4 days, but didn't use restrooms or showers. However, outside of buildings are fairly new. 50 Amp FHU site, but the water and electric are on the wrong side so had to run the cord and hose under MH. Nice covered picnic table at each site. Nice city park on the River. Fairly Quiet even with highway close by. Only 5 other campers here. We would stay again. We camped at Kerrville-Schreiner Park in a Motorhome.

It was hard for me to rate this park since we wound up leaving before staying overnight. We reserved 2 nights during Texas Spring Break Week. When I made the reservation I explained to the lady that we have a 37' fifth wheel (like I always do). Upon arrival, she seemed concerned to learn that we had that large a rig. There were only a few sites open (they assign them to you upon arrival). Long story short, all of the sites were short, but I could have squeezed into them. The big problem was they had thick tree limbs overhanging about 12' off of the ground. We are about 13'-4" tall. Consequently we had to leave and try and find a new place to stay. The girl in the office could not process a refund and said a check would be mailed. Next day I get a call from the park asking if we left early since no one was in our site. I explained all over what happened and was again promised a refund. Seems like a nice park but better tell them 4 times what you are driving or you might not get in. We camped at Kerrville-Schreiner Park in a Fifth Wheel.
