19 Parks near Kilgore, Texas
Aug 2007 - $30.00
I lived in this park for about six months and I am very glad I moved to a different park (Shallow Creek RV Resort in Gladewater, TX). This was basically privately owned land that the owner had put many RV sites on. It was not well kept, had all dirt roads that were VERY bumpy, and some of the residents were very loud. I used the laundry facilities once and never did again because my clothes stunk after they were done. They were very nasty facilities. The trees are pine trees and dripped all over my trailer. I am still working on cleaning up the mess. The owner is very strange and has a lot of rules that no one seems to follow anyway. The sites are not paved in any way. I would not recommend staying at this park. Instead, try Shallow Creek RV Resort in Gladewater, TX. - A.J Meals
Sep 2016 - $15.00
This was a great find. Elec and water. Has dump station on the way out. Very quiet. Nice park connected with children's playground and tennis court. Nice walking path. If you're between Dallas and Shreveport on I-20, check it out. Probably not a good park if your RV is longer than 34 ft. - LisaTom
Sep 2016 - $15.00
Very nice park, well maintained, clean and quiet. No working 50 amp at any of the sites the night we stayed there, but 30 amp was fine with the use of an adaptor. There is no sewer hookup at the sites but there is a dump station. As other reviewer wrote: "The RV park entrance is on the west side at South Commerce street between Harris Street and West Woodlawn (Hwy 42)." We will stay there again when in the area. - Mom_of_Two

The other reviewer provided a good description of the RV park, but as he indicated it is difficult to find. I spent over a half hour at dusk looking for it, finally getting correct directions from someone walking his dog. It is in Driller Park, a very large park. Correct GPS coordinates are listed in the new version of rvparkreviews.com, but for those people who do not have a GPS.... The RV park entrance is on the west side at South Commerce street between Harris Street and West Woodlawn (hwy 42). There is a RV park sign at the entrance, which includes a location that is only close on my GPS. I could not rate service, since nobody was there. I did not have time to go to City Hall and look for the correct office the next morning. I'll telephone them and mail a check when I return home. We would stay there again. - Jim22
Dec 2016 - $30.00
"Big Rig Access" should be removed from this park's description. Entry is abrupt and narrow, and what passes for the "exit" point is so steeply dipped that there's risk of scraping a long motorhome's underside and possible damage. Ours is 43' long, and I refused to use the "exit". There are scrape marks on the concrete attesting to this danger on the exit. We exited through the narrow entrance, and we won't return here. The park is primarily full-timers in trailers; few motorhomes were present when we were here. The entire property is on sloping terrain. - racklefratz
Oct 2016 - $21.00
This is a very clean park with all concrete sites and roads. Each site has room for 2 vehicles and they each have a picnic table. The staff was very pleasant and helpful during my stay. It is mostly a live in park and not many travelers passing through. The bathrooms were very clean and were individual rooms with a toilet, sink and shower. Laundry was good and the machines were $1.50 each. The golf course is not part of the park anymore but it can still be used for a fee. My husband tried to fish in the pond but it is more of a drainage hole rather than a good fishing pond. We paid a weekly rate of $150.00 which I thought was a very reasonable rate for such a clean park. - younglisa
Oct 2016 - $30.00
This is an older RV park that has been updated with the times. Sites are all concrete pads with grass areas in between. Site spacing runs from close by to somewhat spacious. The park has both pull through and back in sites. The utilities are located in the rear 1/4 of the site so long hoses may be needed. All utilities worked very well. Warning you may need a water pressure regulator to protect against burst pipes and hoses as the pressure is very high. Cable has 24 somewhat clear channels, and 15 OTA channels. Satellite should be available from most sites. The facilities are clean and well maintained. - lllkrob
Feb 2017 - $40.00
Quiet, clean and well-maintained park. Far from the highway. - Dead Mule John
Jan 2017 - $41.00
Very nice park with paved roads and paved sites. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. There is a small dog run but a large open field adjacent to the park that can be used for pet exercise. Verizon reception was good and the park has good WiFi. Cable is also included in the rate. Water quality is very good. The park has a high percentage of permanent residents but all of the sites were very orderly and clean. We will definitely stay here again at some point. - Don & Jean G.
Nov 2016 - $42.00
Access is good. Interior roads are very wide and paved. Sites are long, wide, level and paved. Utilities are very good. Small dog park (could be a lot bigger). But, lots of areas in a nature area to walk dogs on leash. Staff is very friendly. Landscaping is beautiful. The long term campers keep their sites neat. There is a gun club next door, and you can hear the shooting into the afternoon, and then is disappears. You can't hear it in the coach. We got a premium sited - but not sure what made it premium . . . it looked like the others. We have stayed here before, and will again. This place is a gem. - okdiver
Oct 2015 - $26.00
Made reservations prior and arrived Sunday. Office was closed and no envelope for us. The camp host did not know we were arriving. A poor start but found the park satisfactory.
A cleaning lady made us feel welcome, contacted the park host, and overall did a great job helping us.
Park was clean, sites have concrete pads, grass between sites. All utilities worked well.
We found a constant noise from a motor running on the property close by. Not extremely loud but consistent.
Overall a good place for an overnight. - RDRV
Sep 2015 - $26.00
Nice park, large level gravel pull-throughs. Individual bath/showers, very clean. Note that they no longer except PPA. Slightly disappointed because it was one of the reasons I chose the park. - SnowBird 5050
May 2015 - $26.00
We arrived on a rainy, stormy evening and were greeted with a warm welcome from the office staff. We were given plenty of information on local places of interest. Our site was a level concrete pad that was much appreciated during the huge downpour. The amenities were absolutely first class and we really enjoyed our stay. The hosts were super friendly and we take away some lovely memories of a great night of music. - KenandCathy
Nov 2016 - $12.00
We stayed here for a couple of nights using the Passport America rate of $12.50. It is sparse, but clean. Sites are all back-in and not really level, but you can level. Owner was very nice. The park is on the outskirts of Henderson, but there was some traffic noise on our weekend stay. Nothing that would disrupt your sleep. The park itself was quiet and peaceful. - User2260
Sep 2016 - $12.00
Certainly not a destination park, but certainly great for a night or two. The owner is very friendly and although very spartan, the park has large sites, plenty of space between sites with gravel pads and grass for each site. As a previous posted stated, the electrical boxes are installed in such a way that it is difficult to plug in and probably impossible to plug in a portable surge protector. Would stay here again. - nmunozjr
Oct 2015 - $13.00
Price reflects the Passport America discount. This is a newer park with nicely spaced back in sites widened to accommodate a second vehicle. Sites are packed asphalt and many are slightly unlevel front to rear. The pedestals have been installed way too low. It was difficult to install my 50 amp cord and impossible to plug in my surge protector. Most sewers are located too high.
Passport America web site has the address on 2068 State Route 328 (Van Buren St). It is really on State Route 323.
We called ahead of time to verify the availability of an overnight site. The owner answered and said that sites were available, but that she was out of town. She recommended a site and explained how to leave our payment. WiFi was not working when we arrived. Another RVer, who had been in contact with the owner said that the WiFi would be restored at 4:30 PM. It was. - BobatRetama
Feb 2017 - $18.00
This is an easy location to get to. Very friendly staff. The park is out in the open with out trees. There are a few covered sites. We had a pull through on asphalt. The park sites are spacious. There is a dog run but I was very disappointed that visitors had not cleaned up after their pets even though there were bags and trash receptacle. I even walked my dog on another grassy area that was littered with poop! - oniedu
Nov 2016 - $21.00
Passport America, Good Sam. Fairly new park. Very nice asphalt slabs w/very good gravel roads. No grass or trees in park. Free WIFI works well. Apx. 6 covered sites. Easy access, friendly host. My only caution would be the utility hookups. They are at extreme rear of the site. A long sewer hose plus an extension will be needed, especially for a motorhome. The sewer connection is also rather high above the ground making dumping difficult for motorhomes. Water & electric connections are very close to the ground (perhaps 4 inches) ...connecting is a little more difficult than normal because of being so close to the ground. - AFChap
Jan 2017 - $28.00
Easy access, sites a bit unlevel for long motor homes but are workable. Roads are a bit rough. Utilities good with reliable electric and good water pressure. 30 sites total, 10 pull throughs. Corral available for horses. Very nice club house/meeting hall with kitchen and rear deck, bathrooms/showers, and laundry. We found it difficult to walk our small dogs due to many residents allowing their large dogs to run loose (not vicious but quite intimidating), but otherwise enjoyed our stay. - AFChap
Jun 2015 - $27.00
We stayed in a pull through for $400.00 a month. We chose pull through because we have a 42 ft big rig. Do not have to pay electric if in a pull through. Park really not good for big rigs. Too close for comfort. Very nice people work and live at park, especially front office staff. She is the best. Washers and dryers area is very clean. I would stay again for overnight. We flooded at our trailer during heavy rains. - sherry whorton
Apr 2012 - $27.00
We have stayed at this park numerous times. Per the last reviews it is only 1/4 mile from I 20 but great convenience. The restrooms, laundry are very clean, the staff are very friendly. Good pull through sites. The only "small" concern is their dog area has a lot of stickers/cockerburs which tend to get all over the dogs but lots of room for the dogs. Wish this small concern could be addressed. But love this small/family owned camp area. - Dixie Darling
Apr 2012 - $28.00
Advertised as a Passport America park, but would not honor their discount. Office was closed on Sunday. NOISY park: our site was 150 feet from a busy 24 hour convenience store and 300 feet from a BUSY intersection. Loose dogs in the park. Park was clean, easy to get into and out of with big sites. - Hayseed
