Nice big sites with asphalt and cement patio. There is no grass and just weeds and dirt between the sites, the wind blew the whole time it made it hard to keep the coach clean. The pool area is nice and they had live entertainment one night that was enjoyable. We got no wifi and the phone was just one bar making getting emails tough. We camped at Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Big Bend NP is worth the long drive to get there. No shopping so come fully stocked. Our GPS took us through Presidio which was longer and the road not as good as the road from Alpine.

Overall Rating:

Beautiful park with lots of amenities and nearby activities. Enjoyed walking about the resort and looking in the shops. There are several eating options on site and many more nearby in Terilingua. The atmosphere in Lajitas is more upscale and the views are prettier than the views from Terilingua. Check in was very friendly. My site was quite large and easily accommodated my 25' trailer and truck. Utilities were well cared for and worked as expected. Access to Big Bend Ranch State Park and Big Bend National Park was very easy from here and there was plenty of hiking and boating opportunities within minutes. The only drawback is the 'buddy' site layout, which I'm not a fan of. It means you share a utility post with your street side neighbor, and they will be just a couple feet away from your rig. In my case, this meant a giant Class A bus with a/c that sounded like a freight engine just feet from my head as I slept, ruining the peaceful atmosphere of the otherwise quiet park. It also means your door will face another campers door, though there is plenty of space on this side. Depending on who your neighbors are, this might be a little odd. If you're lucky enough to get an end space, this is less of an issue. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would come back even with the drawback of the 'buddy' layout. We camped at Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Ask for an end site. Take the drive to Presidio and checkout the beautiful views along the way. DB's BBQ Truck in Terilingua has some of the best brisket I've ever had and will sell you a whole, smoked/frozen/vacuum packed chicken for $10. Santa Elena Canyon in Big Bend NP is close and worth the visit.

Excellent park and good people, I am not a lover of the double sites - lots of room on one side and shaking hands distance on the other - all utilities worked great and a great addition is the fenced dog park they just added Verizon cell phone worked but data was slower then the parks WiFi We camped one week in Rio Grande Village and one week here to hit both sides of the park Nice laundry in the park. The sites were flat and spacious. There is little to no tree cover. It is part of an upscale golf resort. You have all the privileges of other resort guests including a nice discount for the beautiful golf course. It is definitely out of the way. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Lajitas is a fabulous resort.....we dined, played, and truly enjoyed the resort (which was included in the stay at the RV Resort). We mainly used the RV Park as a jump station to "old town Terlingua and Big Bend.....however, we so enjoyed old town Terlingua as we dined at the Star Light Theater, enjoyed all of the local musicians who played almost every night (they were really good) and enjoyed the starkness of the area. It was a trip we won't soon forget. The WiFi was not great, but our WiFi Ranger solved that problem. Just remember you are in a very dry, desert type environment....which can truly be beautiful. Its a nice place in a wonderful location and it has a very nice pool with cabana, but its not a "resort". Its just a nice rv park attached to a resort. A "resort" would have level sites, nicer showers, better wifi, available ice, etc. We camped at Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Big Bend National Park is spectacular. The nearby Lajitas and Big Bend Ranch State Park bicycle trails are great. The general store (Sunoco station) is very nice, well stocked. Can't say anything about the golf course or non-rv resort facilities.

Nice large sites with concrete patio, WIFI was so-so on actual site, our site was fairly level but heard many others complain about their unlevel sites. It is a long way down there with not much in between. Big Bend Nat'l Park was 50+ miles away so if going there daily, I would choose a different park; Big Bend State Park was much closer. Lovely area for peace and quiet, just go well-stocked, very expensive there. We camped at Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort in a Motorhome.

Beautiful area! Arrived at park to find someone in our spot. Went back to office and they put us in Site 94, which is a little shorter but three times as wide, being a wedge shaped corner spot. Everything worked great. Laundry was small and crowded. When you go, be prepared to spend the day. WiFi was sketchy, luckily we had On Star WiFi via our two vehicle, just had to start it for service. So extraordinarily quiet here, and the stars and constellations are amazing. Bring your camera everywhere you go. Big Bend National park and Big an end Ranch State park both very scenic. Avoid the trip from Lajitas to Presidio in the motorhome take your two or toad. Brand new dog park, great tasting water, cable tv. Trails for walking the dogs, nice looking pool, did not use it. Weather was always sunny and sixties or seventies. Cool at night though so bring a space heater or plan to run your furnace. Generally cooler at Big Bend then here at the RV park. Take a camera, a jacket and binoculars everywhere. Drink a lot of water, this place dries you out. Visit the 'Short Time' liquor store in Terlingua. Plan on stargazing, this is a dark sky r.v. park and the constellations will blow you away.

We didn't get a site with cable TV. However, we watched a lot of football in the clubhouse... which was adjacent to our site. This is a nice park... no other parks in the area are in the same class... We had dinner across the street at the resort, and simply charged it to our RV site as you would a hotel room. The staff was friendly and helpful. Now for the not-so-good... AT&T signal in the area is 3G and spotty.. very difficult to maintain a connection and streaming is poor. Same with the park WiFi. That being said.... I would definitely stay here again, and may book next December again.... We camped at Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort in a Travel Trailer.

I think the mgmt is listening as we had no trouble calling for a reservation. They are booked for Thanksgiving week and we could only stay for two weeks. Our weekly rate was ok but going up soon so we heard. We had no trouble with power and the minor problem with excellent water pressure was resolved quickly. WiFi was slow but not horrible. This should get better as repairs are scheduled next week. The pool was a little too warm to use as a cooler for our beer when we arrived but a heat pump was installed while we were there and the RV pool is warming nicely. The maintenance guy was great to talk to. Most sites have fire rings and a concrete or stone patio with nice tables. We camped at Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Phoning for a reservation is dreadful! Besides phoning three days in a row I sent a detailed email requesting a return call. Never happened! Upon arriving without a reservation I inquired about the outdated answering machine message and the full message response. I was told there are only a couple working and they don't have time for phones. Other than that the park is well laid out, PLENTY OF SPACE IN THE LARGE SITES, and the employees are very helpful. Great location, good prices and clean!!! Certainly will stay there again in in the area! We camped at Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort in a Motorhome.

We really enjoyed our stay at this park! Wifi was pretty ok. The location was decent. We definitely spent a ton of time driving to the national park, but it was really close to the state park. It is about 15 min from Terlingua Ghost town which is a must see while visiting Big Bend (go to Starlight cafe)! Everyone was so nice in the park and our kids, ages 9 and 10, made some friends and loved the campground. It was quiet and the stars at night were fantastic. We hiked the Santa Elena, did the Chisos Mtn hike, bathed in the hot springs and did the canyon hike in the state park. We saw a ton of road runners, javelinas, giant lizards and a pack of mountain goats! Maverick RV resort was perfect for us. We camped at Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

First, the good. For ambiance, I give this park a "10". It is in a beautiful setting, well-kept even though the trees and grass are sparse; this is, after all, a severe desert area. They are a "dark nights" park, asking that you turn off outside lighting at 9 p.m. I don't think I've seen that many stars in 50 years! There is a LOT of open space between paired sites. My husband was concerned about being near some dumpsters, but theirs have plastic tops so there is no banging noise at all. There are two dog-walking areas with poop-bag dispensers. AT&T cell service good. If you don't want to boondock in the national park, this is really the nicest place nearby. Now for the not-so-good. #1: As another reviewer mentioned, it is impossible to reach them by phone and they don't reply to messages. I was very close to changing our entire itinerary until I was able to get a confirmed reservation through RoverPass. #2: This park assigns specific spaces at reservation time, so if you want to stay longer the only option is to move. I've only encountered this kind of inflexibility at one other park and it really annoys me. If you have a space for me to move to, then just put the incoming rig there - it's not rocket science! #3 : A surge protector is HIGHLY recommended for this park; ours tripped almost every night. If we hadn't had one, our DVR would probably be fried. #4: wifi was pathetic, even by RV park standards. We camped at Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort in a Motorhome.

We never could contact them by phone to make a reservation; no one ever answered or called back. I finally called the resort hotel front desk and they passed a note to the RV park side to call me, and they did. This is a nice park from which to explore the area, but compared to staying at Study Butte, you'll add 40 minutes to a round trip to Big Bend. The streets are wide, the sites are wide, and there's a concrete patio and table at each. Wifi was good and there is Verizon 3G. The resort next door is beautiful, the restaurant is elegant, and there are lot's of activities; just be prepared to open your wallet. The RV park pool was open in March. IMO, this is the best RV park in the Lajitas/Study Butte area. We camped at Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort in a Motorhome.
