A bargain for the Passport America rate of $16. Staff was exceedingly accommodating and left our check-in paperwork taped to the office door as we arrived late in the day. Office opens again on Monday morning for business and we will pay for our stay then. Easy peasy!
We didn't spend very much time here but used it as a convenient base to visit The Lakewood Church in Houston as well as a visit to Galveston.
Most of this park contains older, permanent mobile homes but there is a section for travel trailers which is well groomed and perfectly acceptable. Our site was a pull-thru, with plenty of room for our truck and fifth-wheel. Each site has a covered, cement patio with a freshly painted picnic table and the grass around the sites was recently mowed. Conveniently placed hookups for electric, water, and sewer, but no cable. We have our own WiFi so can't vouch for theirs. Peaceful and quiet in an otherwise very busy area. Would return if in the area. We camped at Safari RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
Call ahead to get directions before you come. Parts of Calder Drive are under construction so the staff gave us alternate routes to avoid the messy detour.

This is an old, rundown trailer park with RV sites around the outside. Definitely not worth $32 a night, barely worth the $16 a night with Passport America. Sites are dirt/gravel and close. The only good thing about this place is that the sites are level. We camped at Safari RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for 1 month. The restroom/laundry room area is only open for a limited time due to previous vandalism - 8:30am to 9pm. There is a recreation area but with a few books in it and is only open during business hours. The water and electric are good and conveniently placed. They have pull thru sites and back in sites. It is a mobile home park and there are a lot of mobile homes which brings down the niceness of the park. They have a pool and is family friendly. No playground and no where for kids to play. They allow pets but do not have a pet area. They have WiFi that costs money and no cable. The roads could use some maintenance and the sites are fairly close together. If at all possible, next time we are here I do not want to stay in this park. Unfortunately, RV parks in Houston fill up fast due to people living in their trailers working in the area. We camped at Safari RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
We checked out some of the other parks in the area and would recommend Galveston Bay or Marque on the Bay, which are right next to each other - real nice parks. Others I would recommend that we looked at are Bayou Campground, Palms RV Park, Marina Bay, Willow Lake RV Resort, Marina Bay, Gordy Road RV Park. Stay away from the city of San Leon.

We have stayed here many times using Passport America, we are now staying for a couple months using their monthly sites. The park has good electricity. The Passport America sites are all pull-throughs. This park is about the only one in this area that allows daily and weekly stays. We camped at Safari RV Park in a Motorhome.
Safari is close to a lot of shoppings places, hospitals, and Galveston Island.
Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $16.00
We stayed here for 2 1/2 weeks, and have been here before. The weekly rate is $150.00 or get a discount rate of $16.00 by using your Passport America for 3 nights. There are 11 sites all pull thrus. The sites need some TLC. The manager of the park has no maintenance person to help. The park is close to anything you might need. We camped at Safari RV Park in a Motorhome.
You are close to the Johnson Space Center, Kemah Boardwalk, and about 22 miles to Galveston Island. You are also close to a big outlet mall to the south, and about 5 miles north to Bay Area Mall. There is a Propane Gas place about 1 block north from the park on the same street.

This place was okay. Nothing great. The road coming in is narrow. The roads in the RV area are dirt and gravel and get torn up a bit if you get a heavy rain. Campsites are close together. The restrooms were pretty dirty, and the showers didn't work. All-in-all, a decent enough place to stay for a few nights, but I wouldn't want to stay here for much longer. We camped at Safari RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Roads getting to this park are horrible. Narrow and very rough. Inside the park not much better where the RV's park, large potholes. Power and water pressure good, site level. Staff friendly and helpful. Have to drive a ways to get supplies. Would stay here again if I learn Calder road has been fixed and widened. We camped at Safari RV Park in a Motorhome.

Rate is based on Passport America. Located this park due to proximity to Space Center Houston. Park has a few decent short term sites, but mostly permanent mobile homes and RVs, many in not great shape. It would be an OK overnight stop if you do not require use of the bathrooms and showers, as they are in despicable shape. During our visit only one toilet and one shower were in working order. When we woke up the first and only morning of our stay, the toilet was plugged, with no one available to fix it until 9:00am. As we travel in a VW van, working and reasonably decent bathrooms are very important.. We had unfortunately paid for four nights, and the manager did graciously refund the remainder of our fee, when advised that we just could not stay considering no guarantee of a working toilet. Also, although they advertise Tengo internet, we could not detect a signal at our site, and even standing just outside the office, the weak signal would not allow our connection. Cannot recommend staying here. We camped at Safari RV Park in a Motorhome.

Safari RV park is a Passport America park, with rates for 3 days. If you stay longer you get a discounted rate off their regular rate. My wife and I have stayed at this park off and on for 8 years. The park has the same manager. Safari also offers long term camping in their RV section or mobile home section. The park's location makes it very convenient to a lot of places to explore. We camped at Safari RV Park in a Motorhome.

Office closed when we arrived and is not open on Sunday or Monday. We arrived on a Saturday for 4 nights and registered on Tuesday. We used 3 nights of Passport America for $15./night. Fourth night was 25% off for $22.50. Sites are long pull through with gravel pads and small concrete pad. Site for the RV was below the sewer connection so had to raise hose to drain, Power and water pressure is good. There is a major problems with large dogs roaming or being walked with no one picking up. I had to clean up my site and dogs continued to use my site for their doing their job but I never saw them. Campground is filled with mobile homes and RV's that people full time in; only one other camper came in on an overnighter. Close to NASA, Kemah and Galveston. Also close to friends and that is why we picked this location. No cable with OTA proving a number of stations with about half of them Hispanic or religious stations. Would have been a plus for cable but at the rates we paid, we got a good value. Advertised WiFi but my computer never picked up a broadcast. We camped here with a 5th wheel and would probably stay again but only because of the location we needed. We camped at Safari RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a wonderful park for touring the surrounding area. Office staff was friendly and helpful, all utilities were up to par and over the air TV was good. Verizon service was on the slow end but tolerable. I would give this park a 10 but some sites were not satellite friendly because of trees, and the gravel exit road after a rain was muddy. Rate reflects a Passport America discount. We would stay here again if in the area We camped at Safari RV Park in a Motorhome.

We have stayed at this park several times. We always use Passport America. The park is close to any place that you might want to visit. They have short term and long term camping. This park is a split park. Part mobile homes and part RV. Our stay was very pleasant. The sights are very spacious. We have not used their Wi-Fi because we have our own hot spot. I think you have to pay for their Wi-Fi. We camped at Safari RV Park in a Motorhome.

Rate is with Passport America discount, cash only. We were underwhelmed with this campground after reading the previous reviews. Mostly full time residents who do not maintain their campers or mobile homes. The ladies shower was "out of order" and there is only one men's shower stall, and one toilet for men, one for women. Long gravel pull-throughs that are level. My neighbor decided to start his diesel truck at 6:11 AM and kept it running until 6:37 AM. Good over the air TV. If you are desperate for a spot for one night, this campground will be OK. I doubt we'll be back. We camped at Safari RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Great location. Close to Johnson Space Center and lots of shopping. The owner (I guess) went out of her way on Father's Day to make sure we had a shower key. Only downside was no cable. We would stay here again. We camped at Safari RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
