Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $17.00
It's a nice place to stay, very quiet. Sites are large with combination of gravel and dirt. The pool was closed and there weren't many activities that appealed to us, but the other campers were fun to get to know. We camped at Rainbow's End (Escapees Only) in a Motorhome.
Tips for other Campers:
Not much to do in Livingston, but do take time to eat at Florida's Kitchen for some of the best ribs you'll ever taste.
Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $24.00
Home of the Escapees. We were a little disappointed, park is rather aged. Not a lot to do in the area. Office personnel unfriendly at best. Doubt that we will ever come back. We camped at Rainbow's End (Escapees Only) in a Motorhome.
Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $21.00
This is a great park. We especially like the area that is known as 'the hill'. Spaces are very roomy with nice grass. The area known as 'the Oaks' has WiFi available. Escapees is an organization that really wants older RV'ers to remain active and healthy and there are a lot of activities. There is a very nice library, a game room, movie library, and even an ice cream stand. We will certainly be back and may spend the winter here. We camped at Rainbow's End (Escapees Only) in a Fifth Wheel.
Date of Stay: January, 2015 - $20.00
This is an Escapee campground that is the headquarters for the Escapee club and also has a Care Center that helps members with their health problems. It is a nice park with lots of streets to walk on. The only problem is that NO ONE adheres to the speed limit and drive very fast throughout the park. We camped at Rainbow's End (Escapees Only) in a Motorhome.
Date of Stay: November, 2014 - $24.00
Rainbow's End is the home location for Escapee's RV Club. The vast majority of the sites here are occupied by permanent residents or long term stays. There are, however, at least 50 spaces near the entrance that are for the use of short term campers. We stayed two nights in a level gravel pull thru with 50 amp, water and sewer. The campground is adequate, friendly and located about six miles from shopping in Livingston. The office could use some TLC but it certainly met all of our needs. Not attractive for kids but for the older crowd that seem to make up most of the membership is was a good stop. We camped at Rainbow's End (Escapees Only) in a Motorhome.
Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $23.00
We were in a pull through (92) site that was plenty long and wide & level. Rooftop dish, Verizon cell & hotspot worked well as did the utilities. Wife used the pool several times. Laundry was $1 to wash or dry. Road was gravel as was the site with grass between sites. Non Escapees can stay in Escapee parks, too. Staff was friendly. We camped at Rainbow's End (Escapees Only) in a Fifth Wheel.
Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $21.00
This is Escapees headquarters. They have a lot of activities to participate in (geared toward retirees), well kept facilities and pool, and it has a very social atmosphere. The downside is it is located in Livingston; not a lot of choices in shopping or nearby activities. The on site Care Center is a very big plus for the elderly and/or infirmed RVer. We camped at Rainbow's End (Escapees Only) in a Motorhome.
Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $20.00
We camped here for two days, had a nice spot with very friendly office and staff people. We were camped on the side with the trolley. Someone told us that was the new section. Showers, laundry, and bathrooms were very clean. However at the time we were there they only had one bathroom and one shower available. We did drive around to get our mail and visit the headquarters with a few questions. Everyone provided our needs. Campgrounds is older than most we have been at. However, it was clean from what we seen and people were friendly there. Our pets were given little doggie treats too. We camped at Rainbow's End (Escapees Only) in a Travel Trailer.
Rude is the only way to describe the park managers. We have stayed at most SKP parks throughout the United States and never found such rude people. The park is old, dated, dirty, not well kept. We will never return to this park!! We camped at Rainbow's End (Escapees Only) in a Motorhome.
Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $14.00
Park office staff barely had time to greet us as they were talking to friends. Not the usual Escapees greeting we are used to. Dated facility catering to long stay campers. Site was uneven even in the Oaks section. Could only get my truck off the road by parking it parallel to the road. WiFi is Tengo, so it might as well have not been there. If I hadn't had an appointment for Smart-Weigh, I would have left sooner. We camped at Rainbow's End (Escapees Only) in a Fifth Wheel.
Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $15.00
Rate is based on Escapees' "stay and play" rate and includes electricity for our 20 nights there. This is a great park - friendly staff, good selection of planned activities, nice facilities. We will definitely stay there again. I lowered my rating a bit for two reasons. First, the campground's Internet service. It's through Tengo Internet, which in Spanish means "I have Internet" but is really more like NO tengo Internet (slow, unreliable connection). Definitely not worth purchasing if you can avoid it. Second, park rules prohibit the use of washing machines because of the septic system. We had to pay to use the park's laundry. A bit inconvenient if you're a full-timer who is used to doing laundry in your rig. We camped at Rainbow's End (Escapees Only) in a Fifth Wheel.
Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $19.00
We have stayed at a lot of SKP parks and this one is the worst! The good part are the managers are wonderful and very helpful. BUT: this is a prime example of the SKP club forgetting their roots: it has become more of a subdivision of homes with RVs that haven't been moved in years; barking dogs; more traffic than many small towns; plus constant (day and night!) golf cart traffic. To top it all off, if you stay in the Play and Stay sites you get to listen the mail truck run for 3 hours every morning Monday through Friday. If you like noise and camping in a neighborhood, you will like this park! We camped at Rainbow's End (Escapees Only) in a Travel Trailer.
Date of Stay: February, 2014 - $13.00
Upon arrival we were welcomed by the park manager in a friendly and professional manner, even receiving the traditional SKP Hug. Extended our stay twice due to having work done on the RV. Staff were professional and courteous. The last time we stayed here was 2006. This time we stayed in the oaks section. Sites are well spaced, easy in and out, and level. Although we did not attend any functions, neighbors were considerate and friendly. We will return when in the area. One neighbor took my trash to the dumpster with his. Thank you for the nice gesture, and I will pass it on. We camped at Rainbow's End (Escapees Only) in a Motorhome.
Date of Stay: January, 2014 - $21.00
The previous reviewer from November has this place figured out perfectly. Particularly the part about it being very dated. This is a membership park that claims to be super friendly, but we didn't find that to be the case. Unless you have a satellite dish, TV watching is limited to a few religious and Spanish channels. There is no cable. They will allow you to wash your RV, which is about the only thing this park has going for it. We camped at Rainbow's End (Escapees Only) in a Motorhome.
Date of Stay: January, 2014 - $13.00
Noisy and not well kept. As members of the same club we expected a friendly greeting. The park managers were the rudest we've encountered in years of full time travel. The main part of the park and the care center have wonderful people and lots of activities. However, we would not return if it required dealing with these park managers. We camped at Rainbow's End (Escapees Only) in a Fifth Wheel.
