This is our home park its a little old but has the homey feel, everyone is so pleasant as are nearly all Escapees members, there were many activities going on, the pool is small but nice and clean and open till 9pm we were thankful it was HOT everyday. Our site was nice and shady and we were able to wash and wax the motorhome, our neighbors were wonderful. Water is good no problems with electric, nice club house, a great Ice Cream social at the club house and Pancake breakfast at the care center. We camped at Rainbow's End - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

Really good value for members, and not bad even for non-members. The overnight section of the park is like many decent older parks. There are a lot of mature trees, so lots of shade. We were under a tree, so satellite didn't work, and no cable or OTA stations, but that was OK with us. People were friendly and helpful, typical Escapees. In the full-time residents section of the park is the Escapees national headquarters, handy for members or those who want to join. There are some activities going on pretty much all year, and generally everyone is invited. Verizon cell and internet worked. No Wifi for short-termers. We camped at Rainbow's End - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

I used the SmartWeigh service to weigh my motorhome. They use individual wheel scales so you can figure the right inflation pressure for every tire, as well as if you are within weight specs for your axles and tires. Lake Livingston is a short drive away for boating and fishing.

Had made a reservation for 4 nights and all paperwork was complete prior to my arrival except final payment. Grass is nicely mowed and no trash anywhere. Great DVD/Video library for members with 100's of titles. There were activities, but I did not participate. We camped at Rainbow's End - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

Large Escapees park with many activities catering to full-timers and snow birds. Selection of full hookup shaded or sunny sites and some boon-dock sites with no services. Paved interior roads and grassy gravel & dirt sites. Pool was closed when we visited in mid-March. Two fenced dog areas available. We camped at Rainbow's End - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice RV park in a lovely area. Huge level sites. Pull-thru, FHU-50 amp. Inexpensive - Already low price, plus 7th day is free. Very quiet! Must use own WIFI and TV reception is nill...so bring your satellite if you want to watch TV. Pool. Picnic table. Book & CD library. Internal roads are good. Trees are well trimmed. Fun to tour the incredible mail facility and the Care Facility. Really enjoyed our stay and would love to stay here again. We camped at Rainbow's End - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Needed to stay for a few days to use Smart Weigh, pulled in after dark and settled in to site #82 right next to weigh station. Had good 4g with both Verizon & AT&T, and good clear view for my DirecTV antenna. Got here the day after the pool closed. So happy hour and the tours were what we chose to do. We full time in our RV. We work or volunteer. This is our vacation spot. We come here for a month a couple/three times a year to shut down for a month. A nice friendly park and staff. Dog park we use. The other amenities we don't. For $360 a month plus electricity, you can't beat it. It is a Winter stop over for many Winter Texans. You need a satellite and a cell phone to enjoy your stay. Also, we use the mail forwarding service for Escapees and they do a great job. We camped at Rainbow's End - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Travel Trailer.

In consideration that this is the headquarters for the Escapees Club I would expect a top-notch RV park. I was very surprised. Over the years, since the start of the Escapees Club, this park has been added on and added on. As a result it is a mish-mosh of deeded lots where people have built houses or built buildings around their RV's and RV sites. Our site was okay - a pull-through - but there were ant hills and unmowed grass. The park has a pool, a nice club house, and a care center for the elderly. My biggest disappointment was there was no cable and the WiFi that was available is a pay-as-you-go by the local WiFi supplier in town. Not having cable was really a problem. The stations were obviously coming from Houston which is some distance from Livingston so the shows would pixelate and lose signal often (and we have a King Jack antenna). If this park was NOT the home base for the Escapees Club I might not have been so disappointed, but I found it a big let-down to find the headquarters' RV park so wanting. We camped at Rainbow's End - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The value here comes from the rate for escapee members and the friendly people. Definitely showing it's age. Would not go out of way to stop here but would if passing through. Slow check-in. Was wondering if they were also going to need parents and children's names, DOB and phone number. Enjoyed the ice cream social. It has been a year since we stayed here. Things are pretty much the same as last year except that there seemed to be less activities. I was told there is no activity coordinator so no one to organize things. People are friendly here, the sites are adequate. Picnic tables are still old and there is no free wifi or cable tv. As Escapees members we would still come here as we use the mail service and we believe the Care Center is a great idea. Not the nicest Escapees park, but we will always support the organization. This is our first time to stay at this park, we had visited the Escapee Headquarters previously. We were rather disappointed at how the park looks. Everything utility-wise worked fine, but the park just appears to look rundown. I don't know if it is how close the sites are and how short they are that everyone has to park "T" to their camper and it makes it just looked jammed in or if it is just that so many of the rigs themselves looked rundown, but we just weren't impressed. The people are friendly. We had several stop by and talk to us. The laundry was very clean and cheap at $1.25/load. The person checking us in seemed rather rude, but when we stopped to inquire about their mail service we had the same reception since we stopped there not knowing the headquarters was at a different spot. Proud to be an Escapees member but sure expected a better looking park. We camped at Rainbow's End - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an older park, and the upkeep is not what I expected. The sites were fine, and utilities were good and positioned good. With that said, the people are what makes this park, they were so friendly. Lots of activities if you are so inclined. If you are an escapee, you need to experience this park.
