Have never been treated as well as we were here. From registration to leaving everything was very professional. Assisted with finding our site, helped with parking as it was dark, security, they sprayed around all campers for insects. Just awesome people. Very eager to please guests as we had 2 fifth wheels and a tent they made it possible to be together. Will definitely be coming back. You are right on the water and boat ramps right there onsite. A playground for the kids and places for bike riding. Although we didn't use the showers, other in our group did and they were very pleased. Everything is clean and staff is quick to pick up trash. We camped at Wind Point Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We had stayed here YEARS before but had heard they made some major upgrades. Did they ever!! This park is really nice and clean with waterfront sites added. They are continually upgrading other long term and short term sites. The grounds are gated and a code is needed to enter. People are friendly and also helped with backing into the site. Some pull throughs and some back ins. Clean restrooms, screened shelters, cabins, and tent sites. If you have to cancel, they will not give a refund but they "credit" you for your next stay. We stayed for a weekend and will be back! We camped at Wind Point Park in a Fifth Wheel.

.From looking at the dates of previous comments, there have been many improvements in the last year. We have a waterfront site. Off waterfront are less.

Simply beautiful lake!!

Very friendly staff. Very quiet and peaceful.

Like the fact that they enforce pet rules and quiet times.

Picnic tables and fire pits at each site.

Great fishing pier. There are cabins, shelters and tent camping for non-RVers. Playground for our grandkids when they came. The security is great. Spaces are wide!! Large, beautiful park!! Herds of deer roam through the park.

We have been here a month, before we go back on the road. Will definitely be back here anytime we are staying in the area.

Rates vary with length of stay. Love this spot. Take sunset pictures every night.

Not crowded at all during week.

Fills up some on weekends. We camped at Wind Point Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The staff is friendly enough and the grounds are pleasant enough, but a couple of big problems would prevent us from ever returning. We checked in just before the office closed and discovered while setting up that there was no power to our site. We presumed there was a bad breaker. But the office had already closed and we ended up running the generator all night. In the morning it was learned that power had been shut off at the main junction box for the segment we were in. management apologized profusely and since no harm was done, we put it behind us.

The next morning was when the real problem arose. We should have been forewarned when we noticed that just a few minutes of setting the dog's bowl on the ground it was swarming with ants. We dumped it out and resorted to feeding them inside. That evening I kept noticing ants walking across the sofa and would occasionally have to pick one off my arm or leg. I then spotted a stream of ants marching up the wall of the kitchen and into the cabinets. I moved all the food to the refrigerator and sprayed the cabinets with bug spray. That seemed to take care of the situation. About 2:00 am I woke up with a tingling sensation, turned on the light and saw that the bed was absolutely covered with ants. They were all over the bedding and the pillows, which I took outside and sprayed. By morning time the kitchen and bathroom floors were just crawling with ants.

Later that morning someone from staff came by on a golf cart and asked my wife if we had any problem with ants. She described what we had endured last night and the person sprayed something around the RV. This only reinforced in my mind that the staff knew about the ant situation and just chose not to warn anyone.

The other problem was gnats. I don't know what attracted them, but at night whenever you opened the door they would swarm in like a cloud and fill the interior. Horrible.

Worst camping experience ever. We camped at Wind Point Park in a Motorhome.

I brought my family to this park again last weekend. I wanted to let folks know this is a nice park. While the facilities are older, they are clean and the park was clean as well. There were plenty of trash receptacles throughout. I asked about the boarded bathrooms and learned they had been vandalized. Also, while bugs are a part of camping, Lake Tawakoni was in the news this summer for giant spider webs, so it makes sense spiders were plentiful. Great place to relax, view wildlife, go fishing and get back to nature. We camped at Wind Point Park in a Tent Trailer.

This park was a destination resort in the 1970's, it is now nothing more then a fish camp. The pull thru spaces have many trees but the ground was weeds and dirt. You were also parked next to old permanent based RV's. The beach was dirty and the bathhouse was boarded up. I did not visit the bathrooms because of the giant Banana spider webs that were across the partitions to the bathrooms, I figured if I can't get in then what were the chances of it being clean! This park has had it's better days but for now it's rundown and unclean. We camped at Wind Point Park in a Motorhome.

We had 3 RV's for 1 night. We picked this park based on the reviews on this site. Although it looks out of the way for a 1 night stop; if you are going between I-30 and I-20 in that area, it works great. We would use it again. Great security. We camped at Wind Point Park in a Travel Trailer.

This park has something for everyone. There were large pull through sites for RV's, tent camping, shelters, and cabins. Tent campers can camp in developed sites or a primitive area they call "rock road". We camp mainly to do some fishing and view wildlife and we were not disappointed...although the lake was very low. They have a large swimming area where we could cool off, a fishing pier, lots of bank to fish from and we saw so much wildlife!! There were deer, raccoons, oppossum, skunks, and armadillo. We also saw many types of birds and later read the lake is home to something like 130 different types of birds. The buildings are old, but the staff keep them very clean; even the fish cleaning station was clean. They also had baseball diamonds, volleyball courts, boat ramps, and the roads looked safe for kids to ride around on their bicycles. The sunset on the lake was beautiful! Great trip! We will definitely go back. We camped at Wind Point Park in a Tent Trailer.
