Kelly's Pond is a primitive campground in the Sam Houston National Forest. There are no 'ponds' anymore -- the drought has made them mud holes. However, this is the entrance to the Multi-Vehicle trails in the NF. There are 9 picnic tables, grills and lantern hooks available for tents. In addition, you can pitch a tent or park your self-contained RV anywhere along the road or within the perimeter of the forest. There were a lot of dirt-bike riders and trailers when I went. There are also a lot of hiking/biking trails if you have kids that have BMX bikes. There is no charge for Camping; but a $5/day for usage of the multi-vehicle trails only. We camped at Kelly's Pond in a Travel Trailer.Undo
