Just a quick overnight pass thru. Office people were informative. Lots of working full timers. Oil business has picked up in the area. Despite the desolation look, staff seemed positive. Gusty winds in the morning. Generally quiet. Ciggerate butts everywhere but no riff raff. Don`t expect much...good for overnight. We camped at Tra-Park RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Travel Trailer.

We are Escapees members so stayed here overnight as we are traveling. This park is full of oilfield and pipeline workers, some who have lived here over 5 yrs. There were no vacant hookup sites so we dry camped in a level pull through site with concrete pad and some grass. The office staff were very friendly. There is no real store, just a book exchange, movie checkout and small kitchen area. The place is dusty, filled with overhead power lines, but is quiet and was fine for our needs. No WiFi or other real amenities. Not really a destination place. We camped at Tra-Park RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a typical West Texas, oil field RV park: few trees, dirt-and-gravel roads, many long-term residents. Our pull-thru site had a level concrete pad, good water and electric service. We shared a pedestal with another motorhome. We took the 30 amp outlet; he took the 50 amp outlet. We were in for an overnight; the weather was mild; we were fine. My only complaint is that they need an additional RV Park sign: the city of Pecos has not replaced the missing "Moore Street" sign on the I-20 south service road. Our GPS "turned" us but it would have been nice to have another TRA-Park sign there to help us get in. (Tip to others: the Office is in the back of the RV park....go all the way back, almost to Easterbrook Drive; the office will be on your left.) We camped at Tra-Park RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

I wish I had only reserved for an overnight or not at all would have been fine. But we are here for 3 nights. Guess I will spend the time cleaning house, doing lots of laundry, give the pups a bath and hair trim cause I surely don't want to do anything within this park. It is disgusting, dirty, trashy and the office guy has a nasty attitude. We made reservations and reserved 50 amp pull through. Every other pull through has a patio, we don't. We asked for 50 amp, paid at check in for 50 amp (they actually charge a $1 a day extra for it) but the guy next to us took it instead of the 30 amp, so I had to take the 30amp. He is a TT and I am a 40' MH. When we brought it up to the office, the guy said, Oh your neighbor must have taken it, be up in the morning and move it over cause he leaves tomorrow and I will give you your $1 back. Really? NO, you go tell him he didn't pay for it and needs to move it. Thank you. The guy in office said, I don't have another spot for you and you live with 30 tonight or if you want, I will give you your money back and you can go elsewhere. Well at 5pm and sun starting to set now and after 5 hrs of driving....I should have gone and found a parking lot somewhere but instead we stayed. Mainly because we have a package coming on Wed here. No one on the pull thru, pull in straight so you have to pull in like a snake. We are about 3-4 ft from the main road because we had to pull far forward so we could open slides. Space was not wide enough and neighbors slides were out and we would have hit them. This is an Escapees Park and I am not an Escapees member but was intending to after first of year after we have wintered down. But now.....not so sure. This wasn't impressive It wasn't even just near ok. Would I stay here again. Never! Never! Never! This is not a good place to stay at all. As many have mentioned there are not a lot of RV park options when cruising across West Texas. Tra-Park is fine for an overnight stop. Easy access from the highway, gravel pull through sites and solid electric (important in 103 degree July Texas heat). No wifi. No amenities other than an older but clean bathhouse. Good place to pull in for the night. We would stay here again in our Motorhome if we had to. We camped at Tra-Park RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

Escapees membership park. OK for overnight. Packed gravel roads and sites. Mostly locals and oil workers. Visitors sites gravel and no trees. No rec room, pool or playground. On site laundry. The pull thru sites are long and wide with FHU. ½ mile off I-20. Good Verizon cell signal and 4G mobile hot spot, good satellite signal. Office staff friendly and helpful. Park clean. We will stay there again. We camped at Tra-Park RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We were quite surprised to find Tra-Park RV Park in the Escapees Family of Parks, but the pickn's are slim in that part of Texas, so you take what you can get. There really isn't anything 'wrong' with the place. Friendly, Helpful and Courteous service greeted us upon our arrival. We only needed a place to stay for the night that provided electricity. Tra-Park fit our needs perfectly in that respect. Hence, the High Numbers in our review. Quite a number of the residents of this RV Park made their money working in the Oil Business in one capacity or another. For the sheer number of rigs on the property, the place was much quieter at night than we would have expected. Then again, we were passing through on a weekday. Things might be different on the weekends. Again, using the metric of 'Needs Met (or not)', Tra-Park provides a reasonably priced 'overnight' stay in an area where not many options exist. We'd overnight here again if the need ever presented itself. We camped at Tra-Park RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

This is a no frills park. An Escapees co-op park. It it mostly populated long term by oil field workers (an Escapee worker told us it's their only park that makes money all year long, thanks to oil workers). We stayed on a Saturday night and it was quiet enough. We were parked a couple hundred yards from an oil rig but couldn't hear it with doors closed. We got a 50amp FHU but many are 30A. Check in was friendly and efficient. We had only called a couple hours ahead to see about a space. No warm and fuzzies here, or pools, spas and the like. Not a resort by any stretch, but was an ok place to stay while passing through headed east. Water pressure was good. I believe there was Tengo Net wifi but we didn't purchase it. Our VZW jet pack was getting 4 bars LTE. We camped at Tra-Park RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

Come on people! If you are traveling across the state and want to get a good night sleep TRA was the place to stop in Pecos! Let's be real, if you're in an RV does it matter if their showers open or not. Have you tried to sleep in the rest areas off the freeway lately?

We called an hour ahead, was given very polite service and directions as well as a site to pull into. Yes, this place is not a resort, not intended to be as such. But it was the quietest nights sleep we had on the road in 3 days! As far as safety concerns, we walked all around park and down road with our dogs at 11am with no concerns. Also seen local police make rounds during the night. So give the place a try. Huge pull thru for our 63 feet of RV and trailer!

Will stop again in future . We camped at Tra-Park RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

This park has many oil workers with rv's using 95% of sites, but enough sites for travelers. The sites are gravel, level and full hook-ups are good. Too far off I-10. Decent w/d and reasonably priced. Restroom/showers adequate, but half way cleaned. Won't stay again. We camped at Tra-Park RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here one night. This stop does not deserve the poor ratings. We have stopped here twice and have been satisfied with our stay both times. It is more or less a parking lot, but nice and level. It is great for a one night stop getting through Texas. The woman in the office was very pleasant. We have no complaints. Very run down.

Power went out twice.

Two spots over from us the sewer was boiling out around the hookup and going across the space next to us when we came out of our motorhome to walk down the street to have dinner. Basically this is a gravel pit. Spent one night and will never go back. We camped at Tra-Park RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

This is the dumpiest Escapee Rainbow Park we've been to. Junky yard areas around trailers, junker cars, basically a confusing site system of gravel sites, the utility/sewer hookup space surrounded by busted up concrete curbs, and all in an eyesore area of Texas (desert and oil rig equipment). We stayed one night only, I would rather stay overnight at the Pecos Walmart and save the $21. We wIll not be back. We camped at Tra-Park RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

The rate of $21.50 is the Escapee club rate. The park looks a little run-down in appearance, but once situated, everything works ok. We arrived late in the day without a reservation, so the park looked nearly full. We were given a drive-through site that was quite tight. The park is quite tight and we had to drive around a bit to get headed the right way. This is an OK-place for an overnight stay and we would stay again.
