Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Arrival: You have to travel 18 miles south to get there but it just may be worth it

Roads: Excellent all the way coming and going. Except... we called the site owner in advance and she told us not to follow the GPS. So true. Drive in to Pittsburg and then approach from the south. I drove the GPS road in my TOAD and thought I was going to die!

Sites: Excellent. Plenty of space and well maintained. Full hookups. DISH by every site... but you have to pay huge to get it running.

Restrooms: Reasonable.

Cost: $32.50. Website says there are discounts -- none. Park owner's excuse is that she can't update the site.

Local Area: Rural. You have to drive back to Mt Pleasant to get anything you really need.

Internet: Advertized free internet -- false. Limited cell phone reception. Clear views of all skies and/or plug into DISH.

Other: One dumpster at the end of the park. Inconvenient. Many excuses for not delivering on advertised amenities. We will not stay there again. We camped at Big Cypress RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Nice quiet park about 2 miles from Lake Bob Sandlin. I was on the only cement pad in the park on Site 17. Electricity, water and sewer connections are at the back of the site. Be careful pulling into sites because of this. Roads are gravel in the park and a little narrow. Sites are kind of close together but not on top of each other. Verizon service is 3 bars sometimes, but mostly 2 bars or less. Wi-Fi was not working during my stay, they said it was "hung up". Owners are very friendly. They are improving amenities in the park continuously. There are picnic tables in a pavilion in the park and they have just completed a nice large pet park. Area is still a little muddy when it rains, but they are working on landscaping in the park. Entrance drive to the park is a little obscured by some trees and it narrow. I would stay here again. We camped at Big Cypress RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Los Pinos Ranch Vineyards is a nice place to visit for wine tasting and eating. Pizzas are wood oven cooked and very tasty.

Overall Rating:

We were transferred to Pittsburg with my husband's job. The owner was very friendly. The spaces were tight, but very long pull thrus, allowing ample parking for both our vehicles. There were small shade trees. The park was located in a very beautiful, hilly area, making the drive a very pleasant one. The Laundry room was very nice and the shower house was clean and nice as well. The park was fairly new and immaculate. We were there only 5 months and would definitely stay there again. We camped at Big Cypress RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Lake Bob Sandlin was within 5 miles with a very nice recreation area. Shopping was a bit of a drive. There was a grocery store in Pittsburg, but I had to drive 13 miles north to Mont Belvieu for more shopping opportunities! There were a few restaraunts in the area but we difinitely had to go to a large town for more options! This area is better for recreation than for working, full time residents. I would stay there again if transferred to the area, because it was extremely quiet there!

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this RV park! A very clean and safe place to stay. They offer free laundry. The laundry room is secure and spotless at all times. They also have free shower rooms that are also keep neat and clean. Very pet friendly! They recently added a fenced in area for your pets to run. There is a host that lives on site but the owner is there almost daily as well. The owner planted several trees for shade during our stay. There is a small park with a paved walking track and nature walk just minutes down the road. Easy accessibility to groceries, gas, churches, schools, parks, and shopping. We wished we could have stayed longer! We camped at Big Cypress RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The old man who was host was very rude, the prices were jacked up due to a pipeline in the area, and bathrooms were nasty. We camped at Big Cypress RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice sites with full hook ups. Quiet and very well maintained. Clean public bathrooms. The laundry is free, which is very nice. The owner and host are very friendly and will be more than happy to help with any needs. Pet friendly! Only 1 mile to Lake Bob Sandlin. We will be here for an extended stay, and have been made to feel right at home. We camped at Big Cypress RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Great place to stay. As was quoted it is not a resort, but offers a big heart atmosphere from owner and host. Has everything needed for a pleasant stay. Still has free laundry, close to shopping. This was a pleasure stop for sure. We asked if we could have a package sent there UPS, not only was it OK, host offered to help put the part on we ordered for our RV. We will return... Date of Stay: November, 2010 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Add us to the list of satisfied customers. Although it's not "resort" quality, we awarded it a "10" based on the friendliness, nicely laid out sites, free laundry, and great Passport America price. We were met by the owner on arrival, welcomed and told if we needed anything to call him immediately. Interior roads and sites are gravel, and the long, terraced pull thru sites are level and adequate in size. Each pull-thru site has grass, new trees, and a table. Back-in sites ring the back of the park and are tree-shaded and spacious. The free laundry has two each washer/dryers and they're the new high tech front-loaders. The free secure Wi-Fi worked well, as did Verizon cell and Aircard. Very quiet at night, and an easy drive into the town of Pittsburg. A perfect overnight or longer stay, we enjoyed the quiet and the price made this stay and exceptional value. We camped at Big Cypress RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Extremely nice park. Private bathrooms were clean as well as was the laundry room. And the laundry was free! Sites are nice a level pull-thrus. Close to town and fishing without having everyone on top of you. Wi-Fi worked great. Fast connect and we didn't get booted off at all. They take Good Sam too. We are thinking about spending the winter there this year. Worth the trip. We camped at Big Cypress RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a new campground and the owner is extremely nice. The showers are very clean as is the free laundry. We used our Passport America so is was only $11.00 (can't beat that). The owner is very busy building more sites. We will definitely stay here again We camped at Big Cypress RV Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at a great, tucked away campground near Mt. Pleasant, TX. It's not a large Campground which we like, and still offers free Wi-Fi, free laundry (high quality washers and dryers) and has an instant hot water service that gives immediate and endless hot water (how nice), with strong water pressure in the “private” showers. We were here 2 months working at the power plant and it's location to everything is perfect. It's only 1 1/2 miles from Lake Bob Sandlin (GREAT BASS FISHING), and we found local golf courses. Nice level sites with FHU for 20, 30 and 50 amps. Most sites are pull through. The Owner is super helpful. You've got to check this place out. It's just outside Pittsburg, TX. Look them up, you'll enjoy it. We camped at Big Cypress RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
