Overall Rating:

We spent a week here around the 4th of July. First off, you will not find a better "looking" park in the area. Gulf Waters is immaculate. We've stayed here a number of times. It usually gets Ten stars. They can't control mosquitoes, which were horrible the morning hours and starting at dusk throughout the night hours. No drop in rating for that. The park is always packed in the summer, and lots of families come with loads of kids, another pool seems to be a good investment. Wifi here was probably better than any park we visited...anywhere. If you have a smart TV or other device you should be able to stream anything. However having to be forced to rent golf carts from one place is becoming a deal breaker. The "One" cart rental company has added more fees they don't tell you about until renting and the owner is not professional when renting. He knows you can't go anywhere else and he acts that way. I don't use the pool at Gulf Waters because it's almost always packed with kids throwing balls and floats everywhere. I'm sure the cart service won't miss my business, but this is the last time they get $500.00+ for a golf cart rental without any semblance of thanks or generosity. We camped at Gulf Waters RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Clearly a "resort" style park...helpful office staff, privately owned lots...well kept...lots of amenities though we did not use them...walk to the beach, no problem...about 30 miles to Corpus Christi...we were asked to wear "concert" style wrist bands while in the park...seems unnecessary. We camped at Gulf Waters RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This was our third year at this resort for a two week stay. I can't say enough about this beautiful well kept park. Our site this year was a five minute walk to the Gulf of Mexico beach. We came to support this area by eating & shopping this year and we were not disappointed. There are so many choices. We will return! We camped at Gulf Waters RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

If you go to the website and view your site ahead of time you can plan what to bring along. We brought a table umbrella and a play pen for our 3 Dachshunds this year. Golf carts and vehicles are allowed on the beach road but you'll need to license your golf cart in Port Aransas if you are planning to drive the beach.

Very nice RV resort. Staff and guests were all very friendly. Easy in and out with 41' coach and jeep toe. Great beach access although no views of the beach from the resort. Nice pool and hot tub. A little ways out of town but, not a big deal. Good Verizon service. Good cable TV. Never got wifi to work. We'll go back again. If coming into Port Arkansas from North, you CAN take your rv on the ferry if the tide is up. Call ahead to check. We camped at Gulf Waters RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Port Aransas was ground zero for hurricane Harvey last year. The campground is perfect, no problems. The town is starting to get rebuilt and places are starting to reopen.

Very nice RV resort. Large, well-landscaped sites with concrete and stone pavers. Many sites have fireplaces, tables and other improvements. Sites are pull thru, pull in or back in depending on location. Nice boardwalk/ramp over dune to the beach. In looking at other parks in Port Aransas, this one appeared the better option especially if you want the beach nearby. We camped at Gulf Waters RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Beach, shelling, surf fishing are popular options. Shopping, dining in Port Aransas was very limited due to ongoing recovery from Harvey. Corpus Christi is about a 30 minute drive for plenty of shopping, dining, etc. Padre Island National Seashore is about a 20 - 25 minute drive south.

Great "ownership" park that rents out sites just a stone's throw from the beach and Gulf of Mexico in Port Aransas, TX. There are a couple hundreds RV sites, many of them developed nicely with patios and kitchens. There are 3 ponds with RV sites spread around the pond and palm trees. You pull in and your windshield faces the pond. Our site is close to the wide, safe, boardwalk that takes you over the barrier dunes to the beach. You can rent a golf cart in town, store it in your RV site and even drive it on the boardwalk to the beach if you wish. Everything is clean and well groomed. and worth the $64 a night for our 6-night stay. There is a weekly and monthly rate as well if you're staying longer. Many of the sites are owned by "snowbirds" and full all winter, but available for rent during the shoulder seasons and the Summer. We highly recommend this place. PS. We were here 12 yers ago or so, and left a not so good review then, but everything amiss then has been put right now. We camped at Gulf Waters RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We had a great time when we stayed at Gulf Waters. We spent time on the beach, at the pool, going into town eating and shopping. We spent time driving around on the golf cart we rented. Gulf waters is a very nice place for taking your family and we will go back. We camped at Gulf Waters RV Resort in our travel trailer. All the sites are different and plenty of room. This is an excellent park with privately owned spaces that are individually landscaped. There are several ponds and an easy boardwalk to the beach. The sites are all back-in but it's not tight. There is plenty to do in and around Port Aransas with good shopping, lots of restaurants, and lots of water activities. Take the ferry across the channel and visit Rockport with many arts and crafts shops and the famous Fulton Mansion in neighboring Fulton, TX.

The sites are beautiful and well kept. Sites are all concrete with decorative stones. Our site had a picnic table with umbrella, and a tiki hut with bar stools, and large sink. The staff is very helpful and kind. We were chauffeured to our site, and helped with backing in. Easy access to the beach via a cartable boardwalk. Golf carts can be rented (although we did not do that). I can't think of a better place to stay. We came with our grandkids and they loved it as much as we did. Overall Rating:

We stayed here for about a week over spring break. I can't really find anything bad about the place. All concrete pads. Sites are level. Easy access maneuvering about the campground. Sights are enormous and many already come with covered sinks and picnic tables. This is not a campground but truly a resort. Pools were immaculate. Hot tub clean. Bathrooms were spotless. There is a requirement on Motorhome age and size so be wary of that. Wifi was excellent. Campground is 6 miles out of town. You can access town via a beach road or highway. Access to the beach was easy. By far, one of the nicest, if not the nicest, campground I have stayed at. Only complaint I can make is that sight 701 is near the office and a higher traffic area. Had to corral kids out of the road very often. Beach is huge and not maintained near the campground. You can drive on the beach however and even have beach campfires if you wish. The beaches that are maintained are closer to town but accessible as well if you take the golf cart ride that way. Loved this place. I would highly recommend this campground. It is well worth the price and I would suspect that as this area builds up, the price will go up with it. We camped at Gulf Waters RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Rent a golf cart and take the beach road. You can drive the golf cart everywhere except the highway. You can take it into town down the beach (about 20 minutes). They are allowed on roads, in drive-throughs and all over town. We took it to restaurants and shopping as well. It was kind of fun and different. Mustang Island is a nice state park to visit. The USS Lexington and Corpus Christi is about 40 minute ride away and worth a visit.

Truly a resort in all sense of the word. Gulf Waters is the perfect (and by far, the nicest) place to stay in the Port Aransas area, beginning with the office staff. We can't rave enough about these friendly and helpful people, who go above and beyond to accommodate the residents and guests. Connected to the office is a large community center. Laundry/shower facilities, a large beautiful pool, and the hottest spa (wonderful!!!) we have encountered at any resort in our travels complete the office complex. Wide concrete streets connect long, wide concrete pads with tropical landscaping (owner lots which are available to rent when not being used by the owners). There are four ponds within the borders of the resort, so many of the sites are along one of these ponds. From our site (#448), we looked out onto a turtle and fish-filled pond with dunes in the background. Couldn't ask for a more relaxing site! From the resort, there is beach access by way of a private boardwalk/bridge over the dunes. Once out onto the beach, it is a very nice 5.5 mile bike ride [or golf-cart drive (available for rent)] to the town of Port Aransas and its many tourist shops and restaurants. Port A is a 10-minute drive via the highway. About a half-hour drive in the opposite direction is Corpus Christi. It is also a half-hour drive to Padre Island National Seashore. We camped at Gulf Waters RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Landscaped pretty, roads a tad tight, still ok, other campers friendly, helpful for backing into site. Laundry room functional, no chronic out-of-order issues with washers/dryers. No dog park. My biggest complaint is being gouged for cancelling my future reservation, 4 months in advance. Very distasteful policy, a deal breaker for any consideration of future plans. Will never go back.
