We stayed here over the Memorial Day holiday and the campground was packed tight. First, the good stuff. The campground is very well maintained and is very clean. There are two pools and a hot tub, which our children enjoyed. The sights are level concrete pads surrounded by grass. No mud, dirt, or sand to be found. Nice. Beach access requires a short drive. Even though the campground was completely full, it was pretty quiet. No rowdy campers, also nice. We spent a lot of time at Mustang Island state beach and, even though it was Memorial Day, we had plenty of space to pull our truck onto the beach and enjoy our own personal slice of beach front property. Now for the not so good. This campground is _extremely_ tight. When you open your awning, it's only 3 or 4 feet from the camper next to you. Parking for tow vehicles was also very tight. Often, some of the full size trucks would be protruding out into the main drive, which made getting in and out with a trailer a challenge. At times, we thought we might not be able to get our trailer through. The spots also did not have any tables which meant eating inside every night. Finally, there are no trees of any sort anywhere in the park, which means no shade. The lack of trees or landscaping detracted from the visual appeal of the park. It's basically just a giant parking lot, albeit with plenty of grass. In conclusion, you could do far worse than this RV park, but you'll come here basically for it's proximity to the beach and overall cleanliness. It's not a destination in and of itself. We camped at Port A RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

While our site was in a corner that overlooked a wildlife preserve, we probably wouldn't pick it again. The utility pole was in the middle of the pad which was awkward with the driver side slide out. They do pick up your trash and the pools are lovely. We camped at Port A RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

First off I do not often write reviews. This is actually my first review I have written for an RV park on my year long journey across the USA. The Basics: Staff: super amazing, treated people with respect and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Cleanliness: the place was immaculate and, considering most of the town is still pretty unkempt due to Hurricane Harvey, this is a big plus. RV Spots: Our 31' class A fit without a problem with plenty of room to spare. Nice grass on the side of every RV spot. Amenities: 2 pools, a super nice lounge with a full kitchen (open 24hours a day), close biking distance to all Port A attractions and super close to the beach (not visible). My personal story: Arriving at the site our power hookup wasn't working (due to the hurricane) and they had not known the 30amp breaker was out. They immediately moved us to the spot next to us that was bigger and nicer. The owner personally handled this. Over the next week of our stay the staff was friendly and by that I mean they asked how you were and would stick around and talk to you for as long as you needed to express how you were doing. The people in the park were friendly (unlike many parks). People next to you came out and got to know you. It was fun! We spent a lot of time by the pool enjoying a drink and conversing with the other visitors. At night it was quiet, well secured, and well lit if you needed to use the bathrooms outside your motorhome. The owner at one point even drove us in his super cool VW Bus to a restaurant because we didn't have a ride and lyft/uber wasn't working. The park in itself was worth visiting Port A. 10/10 I would recommend. We camped at Port A RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Nightly rate reflects monthly discounts without electricity ($0.14/kWh). Park just opened a second large heated pool and new clubhouse for the approximately 180 sites. Well managed, friendly and helpful staff, facilities are clean and maintained, great landscaping with concrete roads and pads, and some grass at each site. A bit more room at each site compared to nearly all others in Port A visited during our stay. We camped at Port A RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Fins and Virginia's provided the best views for dining. Local wildlife and birding preserves a must see. Biking on the wide sidewalks and local roads - not SH361, encouraged. Loved the food and soup/sald bar at Spaghetti Works. Enjoy the great beach views and Jetty walk.

Overall Rating:

We stayed for the Month of February and could not be anymore pleased and made reservations for next year! The staff is very professional and genuinely interested in the quality of your stay. The amount of work done post Hurricane Harvey to get this campground ready for campers was nothing short of a miracle. The campsites are all concrete with ample room to park your tow vehicle and generous space between your neighbors. They are putting the finishing touches to an additional clubhouse that should be completed this Spring. It will house additional restrooms, laundry rooms as well as a huge area for social gatherings plus an exercise facility as well as an additional pool . We camped at Port A RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

FANTASTIC staff from front office to grounds and maintenance. These people worked long hours with a generous heart to accommodate almost 80 of us who came to Port A to assist in rebuilding efforts after Hurricane Harvey. The Community room and the kitchen are wonderful, the pool and hot tub divine, the grounds are immaculate. This is a favorite RV park for us. We camped at Port A RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

VERY DISAPPOINTED... we made our reservation on line never having been to this park. we get there and had to wait 20 minutes to check in because the guy was on the phone. the spaces were so tight we had difficulty pulling our 39ft 5th wheel, very sharp turns, cars parked in the road, after we set up another RV pulls into next to us and with both our slides out were mere inches from each other. no picnic table as was told was in every site, no grass to walk the dogs, a neighbors PIT BULL was running loose, their "dog park" as small as it is was full of stickers and weeds. When we left had to ask several people to move vehicles to get our RV out. they just park everywhere. then I get a bill for electricity because we stayed a week. I HAVE NEVER STAYED IN A RV PARK WHERE WE WERE PENALIZED FOR STAYING JUST A WEEK. I wasn't told about being charged for electricity. very disappointed in this place. If you have a larger RV don't stay here. It was somewhat clean, the pool looked nice but we didn't use it. We camped at Port A RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This was my first stay at this new RV park. Rate reflects weekly rate (plus utilities). Plusses for me included the ability to select my site on their web site and secure it online. This allowed me to secure a site that gave me morning sun and afternoon shade on my patio side. Because it is new, the restrooms and other facilities are very nice. Although this park is on the wrong side of the street to have beach access, getting to the beach is only a short drive. Staff was extremely friendly and onsite trash pickup was a nice bonus. About the only negative I could come up with are the narrow roads and lack of a "check-in" area that allows one to unhook their tow car without blocking traffic. As a frequent visitor to Port Aransas, I would definitely consider staying here again. We camped at Port A RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The owners and staff were very friendly, helpful, and work hard to keep the park clean and looking nice. The park has cement drives and pad sites, with good grass coverage between sites. Nice pool and club house, the rest rooms are kept very clean as well as the laundry rooms. The only down thing are the site utilities are to close to the pad which can make it a bit tricky working to park the RV with slides. Great park and will be staying here in the winter. One of the best I have been to. Staff is awesome. This is the place we will always stay at. Heated pool and hot tub near by. 2 sets of bathrooms around the park with more to come as they are expanding. They will soon have another pool and clubhouse in the new addition of 100 more spaces, with game room and workout room to be added with the addition. I can't wait. Spaces are big enough to hold my 44 ft toy hauler and my 1 ton 4 door Dodge dually. We camped at Port A RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

First long stay of our 3 year travel plans, have been to the island many times but 1st time to stay here, new park opened in June 2016. Everything is new and looks great, super staff also. Pool and hot tub are the best I have ever seen in any resort, heated pool was great during our stay!!! The fishing pond was a memory for our grand kids that they will never forget, caught over 10 fish in less than 30 mins and saw crab in there too!!! Stayed here for a month $640.00 plus elec and cable. All worked great, WiFi was great and fast. Paid 40.00 for cable but there are a lot of locals without it. Felt very safe here for us as well as our kids!!! We camped at Port A RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Newest & IMO the best RV park in Port A. All concrete streets & pads. Staff will bend over backwards to assist you for everything.... really flexible. Clean sites, dog walking areas (3) poop bins emptied weekly or every other day. Sites can handle 45 ft rigs. Heated pool & jacuzzi. Clean laundries (2) and washrooms. Everything is new.. The opened last fall and are adding 85 more sites with separate lounge & laundry & pool. This is the best & least expensive ($573 for the month) RV park in the area. So good we made reservations for next year. (2017-2018) Junk equip & bad people not allowed. Lots of pot-luck dinners & camper interaction- really friendly, pet oriented. We stayed 2 months. Admin note: rate based on monthly rate. We camped at Port A RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
