Overall Rating:

The park itself is very nice, clean and well equipped with pool and shower rooms. The RV spots are very close to each other so slideouts may interfere with the awning on the neighboring RV. Water pressure was good, but sewer pipes were missing the caps. There are no picnic tables or any patio areas at the RV pad. We checked in after staying on the beach, but the tides were coming too high, so we moved to Surfside. Upon arrival, the owner was very helpful and we couldn't decide if we'd need 2 nights stay or just one. We paid for the two nights as the owner told us to let her know what we decided. Around 10 the next morning, we saw the weather forecast and decided to head home. When we asked about a refund for the 2nd night and we were told "we don't give refunds". We stated she had told us to let her know what we decided and she said "that was before you paid". We feel misled and quite frankly ripped off. Which is sad, because we had planned to book next year's reservation here after seeing how nice the park was and how helpful owner had been. But now, we will never book here again. And I will make sure to tell my fellow event attendees, and anyone else who asks, to avoid Surfside as well. After all the add-on fees, like extra people, extra cars, etc..2 nights came out to about $160, $80 of which was not "earned" by the park. Bad business makes for non-repeat customers... We camped at Surfside RV & Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

The park is small, only 45 spaces. I believe it had extensive damage from Hurricane Harvey in August 2017 as the community center and office are brand new, in fact, not quite finished. The brand new very clean bathrooms are private rooms with toilet, sink, and large shower. The showers have great water pressure and plenty of hot water. There's a small pool and spa.

Our 30' motorhome and trailer took up the entire site; we parked our car in the overflow parking. We are parked on a very level concrete site with grass next to us, no patio or picnic table. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to put our rug on the grass. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

There is a fairly short three-block walk to the ocean. There are new front-loading washing machines and dryers - $2.00 each. There's a good selection of cable channels, Verizon works great, free WiFi only in the community center, otherwise, you have to purchase.

We would definitely stay again. I wouldn't exactly call it a resort, but it's a great little park. Eleventh Street is a good street to ride a bicycle on and get into town. We camped at Surfside RV & Resort in a Motorhome.

Decent park if your camping in a little red wagon! Sites are realllllly close. I guess the park was designed for small travel trailers. Anything bigger than our 26 foot trailer and you will be in trouble. Awnings touching, slideouts touching. No room to stretch out and relax. Staff friendly except for one rude workamper, thinks he owns the place and not very good at his job. We camped at Surfside RV & Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Great place to stay that is a quick walk to the beach, but without all the sand. The park is smaller so it is ideal for families. The grounds are well kept, bathrooms are clean, and owners are friendly. We camped at Surfside RV & Resort in a Motorhome.

Sites are very small. I could not get either into or out of my space, except that the pullthru directly opposite was empty and I was able to pull through it. If your neighbor has a slide out opposite yours, you will be very close to them. Wifi is an added cost, which I found unnecessary since they are charging $47 per night plus tax, bringing it to $52 per night. I would not stay here again. We camped at Surfside RV & Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Spent January/February at park for the second year. Made many friends last year and got reacquainted this year. Small park with close sites. Concrete roads and site pads. Hookups are placed well and work well. Park cable is very good. Did not use wifi as we have a jetpack. Close to beach and on shuttle route. Morning mens coffee and HH's everyday. Electric is .16KWH. High imo. We are over 65 feet hooked so hard to fit. Will go elsewhere in 2016. We camped at Surfside RV & Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Take the shuttle to city center. You will pass all the good cafes and taverns and other places of interest on the island. 25 cents per person per stop so its a good deal. Don't miss the belt sander races at the Gaff watering hole during the winter season. Corpus Christi is 30 miles, Flour Bluff with HEB and super Walmart about 22 miles. Ride the free ferry to Aransas Pass and small HEB and Walmart 8 to 10 miles away.

Overall Rating:

Rate is based on two months. Small, very friendly park with winter Texans that have been staying here for years, and made us feel welcome. Mens coffee in AM and HH every day. Games, bingo, pot lucks, Karaoke, and Saturday breakfasts scheduled during winter months. Great family/owners who live on-site. Water, sewer, cable, and 50 amp service placed in sites correctly and worked properly. Things to note are the sites are a little narrow, and the pull-thrus are short. Tow vehicle or car may not fit, too. Laundry could be improved. We will return. We camped at Surfside RV & Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a smaller park so it is more intimate, which we like. It is very clean and quiet and the managers are very nice and helpful. The park frequently hosts various activities and the guest are friendly so the atmosphere is comfortable and enjoyable. We camped at Surfside RV & Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

My wife and I stayed at Surfside from 4-18 to 4-25-09. This was our first trip in our new fifth wheel so we were a little apprehensive about the trip in general. As soon as we walked in the office, the owner greeted us and could have not been more helpful. He helped us get parked and checked on us later to see that everything was in good working order. The park is extremely clean and was very quiet. All of the other guests that we encountered were pleasant. We go to Port Aransas twice a year usually in April and October and have been for about 12 years, our next trip will definitely include staying at Surfside. All in all it was a great experience and the fishing was great. We camped at Surfside RV & Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Sites tight. Washrooms are clean because they have a sign that states "please wash floor when done". We who rent a site do the cleaning. At the price they charge they should clean the washrooms. For a day or two the place is OK We camped at Surfside RV & Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Interior roads and sites are concrete with grass between. The sites are somewhat narrow and backing in can be tricky for a big rig. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay here again. We camped at Surfside RV & Resort in a Motorhome.

A very quiet area with about a 5 minute walk to beach. We were there in the off-season, so may be different in the summer. They require a $20 refundable deposit for a 30 amp to 50 amp line. Cable not too expensive at $2/day. We camped at Surfside RV & Resort in a Motorhome.

We will be returning to Surfside for our 4th year this year. We love it. They are 2 blocks from the beach. The pool and restrooms are kept incredibly clean and the management is super doper friendly. Most RV parks are about the same, but the management of Surfside, (Mr Rhea), truly make this park special. We camped at Surfside RV & Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Can walk to the beach - only a couple of blocks away. Stayed because friends were in a condo 2 blocks away on beach. Small sites - just fit 29 ft Class C and toad. ONLY 50 amp power - have to leave a $20 deposit for adapter for 30 amp. Sites VERY close together, luckily they weren't full. Some long term individuals that let animals run loose and bark for a long time. Also loud music one night. We camped at Surfside RV & Resort in a Motorhome.
