This is a large Park. Playground, swimming, fishing, boating and etc. The park was closed Friday thru Sunday as the surrounding lakes are closed due to flooding, but this park is high enough that the rise in water was not an issue. Gate Attendents are top notch, they check the park many times a day as well as a ranger. There are some trees, but most sites are in direct sun. It was hot when we stayed, 98 degress, with heat index of 108 so getting outsided after lunch was not acceptable unless you were in the water. A lot of history, as there is an old family cemetery in the campground dating back to 1838 as well as Dawson, TX, first town in the county and other historical markers. One negative is the Argentine ants. In some sites the ants will haul your RV to the next campsite! They will warn you about the ants, so take some type of ant repellent as most seemed to use Comet around their Jack pads and wheels and also anything that touched the ground. We did not have issues with the ants but we did see other that did. We will be back. We camped at Liberty Hill COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There are several walkup sites with 50 amp service and water but no sewer. Some do have shade, but all sites have shelters over the picnic tables. Most sites are 30 amp so be careful when picking your site and be aware that 50 amp service is not the norm.

Very nice Corp park. We almost had it to ourselves for the 2 weeks we stayed. Part of the park was closed for winter. We enjoyed our stay very much. The bathrooms need to be updated but they were clean anyway. We camped at Liberty Hill COE in a Fifth Wheel.

This was a very nice setting but did not feel it was quite up to the COE standards. All the sites sat above the lake. Attendants were helpful. Grass was not mowed and was almost knee high. There was only 3 or 4 campers besides us during the week, more on the weekend but it was not full. Most came for the fishing. We camped at Liberty Hill COE in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped in a double site, number 29. It was away from the other sites. Edges of lake were clean and the grass was mowed. The site was beautiful. We had a double-covered picnic area with a fire ring. Traffic was low in this area, so that the kids were able to ride their bicycles. Sites were level and shaded. Very nice! We camped at Liberty Hill COE in a Motorhome.
