5 Parks near Riviera, Texas
Mar 2016 - $15.00
We really like this county park second time we been here in three months. Planning to winter here 2016. The only knock is the Verizon web signal and the WiFi. We plan on getting a booster for this problem when we return. It looks over Baffin Bay with a pier.
Very friendly people snow birds. Most of the park has concrete site pads our area didn't but there is better views of baffin bay from here. It's the newer end of the park. - JustDon

Played Winter Texan from December to late March. One of the two younger singles among 65-90 year old couples. The other single was 21.
Developed some casual friendships, but most of them gave me no more courtesy than a hello. Lots of cliques especially during meals. I was angrily snarled away from tables several times.
Leadership among the "Winter Texans" controls virtually every activity.
Lots of little people who demand to be King or Queen. I dropped back out of several activities because of attitudes. Even things where I could contribute greatly. I let the little titans have their turf and walked away.
By the end of the three months, I had bitten my tongue to the point of bleeding.
Park Manager was great, Park staff was horrible. Especially the Activities Director. A Witch without a Broom.
Verizon doesn't work there and the park WIFI is a pathetic joke. They try to force you to buy a phone line for DSL. If you can afford to use ATT and have a Hotspot, you'll be fine.
If you are a guy who doesn't fish, doesn't golf, doesn't play poker and doesn't sit around getting drunk, you'll be bored to tears. Most of the activities are for the ladies.
The roads are collapsing, the electrical boxes are very old. No money sucked from the park is being spent to improve it. This is a cash cow for Kleberg County to subsidize the rest of their county.
It was an experience to write a book, but something I will not repeat. - RVWriter
Feb 2016 - $17.00
We agree with the last reviewer that this is a hidden gem. We stayed 3 nights and found the park to be amazingly quiet and clean. Our site was paved (oldish) and level. This is a county managed park, and resides within/adjacent to Kaufer-Hubert Memorial Park, which is on Baffin Bay. Lovely area. We would stay here again. - RDR
Feb 2016 - $36.00
Nature's Own is a very clean, well managed and very nice park. We enjoyed the pool very much. Showers and a community building are relatively new, very nice and super clean. The only real negative is the road noise from US-77, which surprised me with intensity. I assume if you get a space farther away from the road than we were able to book, that noise may be less. Also, there is no cable tv.
Overall, this is a clean, well run and very safe park....essentially gated at night. I would stay again for sure. - Forerwr
Jan 2016 - $55.00
Gated park. Relative to the area, I suppose this is about as good as it gets. Concrete pads are level with rock between pads. Really wish the street sections were as wide as the pads...turning in with 42 ft. coach was a bit tight. Stayed here as an overnighter on the way down to valley. - Smooth Running
Dec 2015 - $36.00
Paved roads and rv pads. Some gravel and some concrete patio areas. Very level. Sites include picnic tables. This park is only a few years old so it looks fresh and new but the downside is no shade. Really nice amenities. In the main building there are 6 private bathrooms with toilet, sink and large tiled shower.
Also in the main building is a large gathering area with sofa seating area around a flat screen tv and several dining tables. At the other end is a workout area with dumbells and several cardio machines. Next to that is the laundry area that includes 6 washers and dryers.
The pool area includes a large covered patio area with lots of seating and a modern pool with small splash pad area for kids at the shallow end and a waterfall. Several grills are provided as well.
We were next to a wifi booster so we had a very strong signal. 2 cell towers were nearby as well.
The lady who checked me in was very friendly and helpful.
As others have noted, the park is right off the freeway so there is road noise. There is a newer development of the Rv park that is further back from the freeway which would be more quiet. This area features another building that has a common area with ping pong table, bar, etc. as well as a dog washing room. There is also a hot tub outside. Looks like new horse shoe pits are being installed.
The park is extremely neat and well kept. There are numerous trash cans with bags for cleaning up after your pet. They also feature 3 large fenced off-leash areas for dogs. - jvkATX
Feb 2013 - $22.00
We stopped here for the night because we wanted to visit the King Ranch. This park is next door to the waste-water treatment plant. There was no odor the day we were there. There are mostly long-term residents here in old run down mobile homes and a few trailers for workers in the area. As the residents got home from work, the dogs were all let loose. There were dogs wandering all around the park as well as cats. There were dogs copulating in front of our RV. The office staff were pleasant, but we left ASAP in the morning. - Earthdog
Jan 2013 - $22.00
Lots of permanent sites but that is expected in this economy. The site was on dirt/gravel and not quite level but placing one board under one side did the job. The managers are really nice and friendly. Noise in evening due to close proximity to Naval Air Station. But that's okay the sound of freedom. An added bonus, the FREE use of the two washers and dryers. - phyllen
Oct 2012 - $22.00
This was one of those quick in and quick out overnight stays. Office staff was very friendly. Park had a lot of permanents but their sites were well kept so that was no problem. I gave a rating of 8 because our site was not very level. Would we stay here again? YES. It is easy to get to from the highway. - daverich
Feb 2011 - $30.00
Not a bad place, but pretty old. Sewer hookup was on wrong side of site, so they said 'pick anyone you want'. Lots of permanent people. Near a Navy Military base, so lots of noisy jets overhead. It's close to the King Ranch, which is what we wanted. - travelingviking
Nov 2010 - $22.00
Since the new owner took over, the Park has added an indoor swimming pool and spa and the landscape is maintained and very clean. The men and women bathrooms with shower are very clean and so is the bathroom and shower area near the pool. Nice clean cemented patio and lawn area. Rec area with Wednesday pot luck and special activities during the holiday season. Staff are helpful and friendly. Very nice, clean golf course located across from the Park. Park has storage areas that you can rent for your golf cart. You can access the park off of Hwy 281, where there is construction going on, however, there is no noise level while in the park. You can also access the Park from County Rd 203 via FM 1418 (which is the back way) where there is no construction. I highly recommend this park year-round as you are centrally located to southern Texas points of interest, plus the weather here is consistently mild. - BusNuts
May 2010 - $22.00
Had to go Falfurrias for my brother-in-law's funeral. The park was very clean and several shaded spaces like the one we had. Had a pull through space with plenty room to park our truck behind the RV. Met the new owners, (since Jan 10), who were very friendly and helpful. They were working in remodeling one section of the park. We look forward staying in the park again. - RVman63
Feb 2009 - $20.00
We were parked on a grass site with "fire ants" and it was not fun. All the gravel sites are assigned to long term residents. Only place to stay between Edinburg and Alice. Old RR crossing a little steep when gaining access, a lot of scrapes in asphalt from RVs. The Valero Truckstop about 1 mile south of town usually has some of the best fuel prices south of I-10. - Teacher's Pet
