6 RV Parks near Riviera, Texas
Jan 2017 - $11.00
Stayed for 3 months with a monthly rate of $325. This is a great park that is mostly occupied by snow birds (Winter Texans). Lots of activities and great fishing on the bay. Staff is great. Paved roads and paved sites. Huge recreation hall with a large kitchen, game room building with pool table and ping pong table and a nicely stocked library book exchange room. Laundry is very good. This is a county owned facility and the county is not putting quite enough money back into the park as is needed for proper maintenance. Consequently, there are some needed repairs that are not getting done. But, overall, the park is still in good shape. It is a bit isolated. To do any shopping you have to drive about 25 miles to Kingsville. But it is an easy drive on mostly four lanes. I can definitely recommend this park. - littleapple
Mar 2016 - $15.00
We really like this county park second time we been here in three months. Planning to winter here 2016. The only knock is the Verizon web signal and the WiFi. We plan on getting a booster for this problem when we return. It looks over Baffin Bay with a pier.
Very friendly people snow birds. Most of the park has concrete site pads our area didn't but there is better views of baffin bay from here. It's the newer end of the park. - JustDon
Mar 2016 - $10.00
Played Winter Texan from December to late March. One of the two younger singles among 65-90 year old couples. The other single was 21.
Developed some casual friendships, but most of them gave me no more courtesy than a hello. Lots of cliques especially during meals. I was angrily snarled away from tables several times.
Leadership among the "Winter Texans" controls virtually every activity.
Lots of little people who demand to be King or Queen. I dropped back out of several activities because of attitudes. Even things where I could contribute greatly. I let the little titans have their turf and walked away.
By the end of the three months, I had bitten my tongue to the point of bleeding.
Park Manager was great, Park staff was horrible. Especially the Activities Director. A Witch without a Broom.
Verizon doesn't work there and the park WIFI is a pathetic joke. They try to force you to buy a phone line for DSL. If you can afford to use ATT and have a Hotspot, you'll be fine.
If you are a guy who doesn't fish, doesn't golf, doesn't play poker and doesn't sit around getting drunk, you'll be bored to tears. Most of the activities are for the ladies.
The roads are collapsing, the electrical boxes are very old. No money sucked from the park is being spent to improve it. This is a cash cow for Kleberg County to subsidize the rest of their county.
It was an experience to write a book, but something I will not repeat. - RVWriter
Feb 2017 - $17.00
Excellent park, very clean and well maintained. Wide concrete interior roads with both concrete and gravel sites. Great laundry, nice pool (didn't use), and garbage pickup each morning at site. The utility setup is the best I've seen. Everything on concrete including the sewer. Only negative is Hwy 77 in front of the park. Didn't bother us but heard complaints from others that are more sensitive to noise. - gobigred
Oct 2016 - $36.00
A great place for an overnight stay. Only 4 years old, the pull through was concrete, wide and level! Perfect for a big rigs. Wide streets, good security, power and hookups correctly placed. All good. Would stay here again! - MerBee
Feb 2016 - $36.00
Nature's Own is a very clean, well managed and very nice park. We enjoyed the pool very much. Showers and a community building are relatively new, very nice and super clean. The only real negative is the road noise from US-77, which surprised me with intensity. I assume if you get a space farther away from the road than we were able to book, that noise may be less. Also, there is no cable tv.
Overall, this is a clean, well run and very safe park....essentially gated at night. I would stay again for sure. - Forerwr
Feb 2013 - $22.00
We stopped here for the night because we wanted to visit the King Ranch. This park is next door to the waste-water treatment plant. There was no odor the day we were there. There are mostly long-term residents here in old run down mobile homes and a few trailers for workers in the area. As the residents got home from work, the dogs were all let loose. There were dogs wandering all around the park as well as cats. There were dogs copulating in front of our RV. The office staff were pleasant, but we left ASAP in the morning. - Earthdog
Jan 2013 - $22.00
Lots of permanent sites but that is expected in this economy. The site was on dirt/gravel and not quite level but placing one board under one side did the job. The managers are really nice and friendly. Noise in evening due to close proximity to Naval Air Station. But that's okay the sound of freedom. An added bonus, the FREE use of the two washers and dryers. - phyllen
Oct 2012 - $22.00
This was one of those quick in and quick out overnight stays. Office staff was very friendly. Park had a lot of permanents but their sites were well kept so that was no problem. I gave a rating of 8 because our site was not very level. Would we stay here again? YES. It is easy to get to from the highway. - daverich
Feb 2011 - $30.00
Not a bad place, but pretty old. Sewer hookup was on wrong side of site, so they said 'pick anyone you want'. Lots of permanent people. Near a Navy Military base, so lots of noisy jets overhead. It's close to the King Ranch, which is what we wanted. - travelingviking
Jan 2017 - $26.00
Stayed for just an overnight at this RV Park. We were warmly greeted by the owner of the park. They purchased the park about a year ago. Very clean park, nice grounds and all of the sites I saw were all pretty much level. We were escorted to our site and he stayed until we were plugged in to make sure everything worked alright. They also invited us to the clubhouse for root beer float night. Several upgrades have been made to the park. They have 97 sites now and each site has a concrete patio to the side. Easy access to the water, electric and sewer hook ups. The clubhouse has a small kitchen area, an area to visit, game room, pool table and restrooms. In another building, there is a small swimming pool and a large hot tub. Both appeared very clean and well kept. The laundry facilities looked clean, however, we didn't use them. $1.50 to wash and $1.25 to dry. The restrooms and showers are very clean, but they do need some updating. A few long term people, several Winter Texan's and even a few families are here. Several people in small gatherings visiting. Park is big rig friendly. Just off Hwy 281, easy in and easy out. Owners are very friendly, helpful and seem to enjoy visiting with their residents. They also have internet, but we used our own, so not sure what their's is like. It appears the new owners have put a lot of work into improvements in this park. We recommend this RV park and we would stay here again. Stayed in a 40' fifth wheel and paid $26. - Digetydog
Jan 2017 - $22.00
The place is kept clean and well groomed. The management is constantly upgrading facilities and doing preventive maintenance on the sites, making this one of the nicest parks we have visited without being expensive. Rate shown is weekly. Daily rate is $30. Activities are as mentioned in previous posts. Laundry has 6 washers and 6 dryers and is well maintained. The only negative is that there are no major TV networks off the air and no cable TV. - Russ & Glynna
Nov 2016 - $35.00
This is a winter texan park, that the recent new owners are working hard to improve. Some worker campers, but off in their own section. Fairly quiet when we were there. Staff and owners are very welcoming, as were the few people who were already there for the winter. Fresh oranges and grapefruit right off the trees next to our site. Not sure I'd want to spend the winter in this area but it's perfect for a short stay. - Voyageurs
