Played Winter Texan from December to late March. One of the two younger singles among 65-90 year old couples. The other single was 21.

Developed some casual friendships, but most of them gave me no more courtesy than a hello. Lots of cliques especially during meals. I was angrily snarled away from tables several times.

Leadership among the "Winter Texans" controls virtually every activity.

Lots of little people who demand to be King or Queen. I dropped back out of several activities because of attitudes. Even things where I could contribute greatly. I let the little titans have their turf and walked away.

By the end of the three months, I had bitten my tongue to the point of bleeding.

Park Manager was great, Park staff was horrible. Especially the Activities Director. A Witch without a Broom.

Verizon doesn't work there and the park WIFI is a pathetic joke. They try to force you to buy a phone line for DSL. If you can afford to use ATT and have a Hotspot, you'll be fine.

If you are a guy who doesn't fish, doesn't golf, doesn't play poker and doesn't sit around getting drunk, you'll be bored to tears. Most of the activities are for the ladies.

The roads are collapsing, the electrical boxes are very old. No money sucked from the park is being spent to improve it. This is a cash cow for Kleberg County to subsidize the rest of their county.

It was an experience to write a book, but something I will not repeat. We camped at SeaWind RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Closest town is 10 miles away. Gas station and a Dairy Queen.

All supplies and most other daily necessities require a 27 mile one way drive to Kingsville.

Both access roads to the park flood during heavy rains.

Ambulance is 10 miles away if you're lucky.

We really like this county park second time we been here in three months. Planning to winter here 2016. The only knock is the Verizon web signal and the WiFi. We plan on getting a booster for this problem when we return. It looks over Baffin Bay with a pier.

Very friendly people snow birds. Most of the park has concrete site pads our area didn't but there is better views of baffin bay from here. It's the newer end of the park. We camped at SeaWind RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Museums in Kingsville and places to eat there also. All we did is stay at park except when we went to Walmart and bought groceries. We also eat at Pizza Hut and it was good.

Greetings!
Thank you so much for your kind review! This is a wonderful park and we enjoy all kinds of visitors like yourself. The WiFi is not the best. For that we apologize.
Thank you again,

We agree with the last reviewer that this is a hidden gem. We stayed 3 nights and found the park to be amazingly quiet and clean. Our site was paved (oldish) and level. This is a county managed park, and resides within/adjacent to Kaufer-Hubert Memorial Park, which is on Baffin Bay. Lovely area. We would stay here again. We camped at SeaWind RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This is a great birding area. Kaufer-Hubert Memorial Park is listed as the number one birding hotspot for Kleberg County, according to Cornell's e-bird.

This park is a hidden gem! All paved roads with grass around sites. All the staff and winter Texans were so nice that we stayed for a month instead of the 2 weeks we were planning. Lots of activities to occupy your time. The office managers and staff went out of their way to please. Right beside a state park and bay with beautiful landscape. Park has ice machine for residents there. Used laundry rooms, they were spotless. Wifi was come and go at our site. Will be coming here again!! We camped at SeaWind RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a great park. We stayed only 3 nights but very friendly staff and basically everyone in the park! We were lucky enough to be there on Friday night Fire Pit night - cook your own meat on a fire pit, baked potatoes supplied and eat in common area. Wifi was very slow, but sometimes doable. We were backed onto a little pond that had turtles in it - nice. The laundry was excellent. Only negative, was there really weren't any walking trails - just on the nearby roads. We camped at SeaWind RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is by far the best RV park we have stayed at! Paid by the month $325 plus electricity. Staff was friendly & goes out of their way to please everyone. Great WiFi. No pool but park is situated off of Baffin Bay. All roads paved. Shuffle board and walking/biking trail. Clean laundry room. You can get quarters for the machines in the office. Gates are locked at night. Lots of activities. Park was full of snowbirds that were so friendly & all adopted our 10 yr old son. Our site was level, paved, and had shade and nice shrubbery. Can't get any better than this! Definitely would stay here again! We camped at SeaWind RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful park with friendly people. The location is fairly remote, about 25 miles from Kingsville, which is both a plus and a negative. It's right next to a county park with a great fishing pier. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at SeaWind RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is right on the bay and it is very big. We asked for a pull-through and it was more than long enough so we did not have to unhook. We were only staying for the night. The pull-throughs do not have sewer so we had to use the dump. We were also put at the far end of the park which means that unless you unhooked, you were far away from everything, even the showers. No cable TV but antenna reception was excellent as was the Wi-Fi. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at SeaWind RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Definitely lives up to its name Sea Breeze, but a very nice park with nice managers. The grass (weeds) needs some mowing, and bushes need trimming. Clean park, friendly people and within walking distance to fishing pier at state park. Will come back again. Stayed here in a 5th wheel for 4 days and paid $22.50 with GS discount for 50A full hookups. We camped at SeaWind RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Super scenic park located right on a Gulf inlet, right next door to a neat county park with a fishing pier- great for fishing and birding. Free wifi available in some areas for the park. Short term sites do not have sewer hook-ups. (We stayed two days for an en-route break.) Friendly people in the campground. We will stay here again for a longer period to do some fishing and hiking. We camped at SeaWind RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Very nice county owned and run park, great for fishing, boating access from the park to the Gulf. Very quiet 10 miles from main highway. Staff friendly and helpful. If you want to get away this is the place to do it. Full during the winter months so suggest you call ahead for space before making 20 mile round trip to highway. We camped at SeaWind RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful well kept campground. Extremely friendly and helpful employees. Small lake on premises and State Park next door with fishing pier and boat ramp. Plenty of places to walk and "bird". 20 miles to town and groceries etc. In spite of that would stay there again. Campground lived up to its name 2 of the 3 days we were there. Great little park on Baffin Bay. We stopped in on the way north from the RGV, and enjoyed the laid back, quiet location. Close to Kingsville, for shopping, restaurants and the King Ranch. The fishing pier and picnic areas are part of the park, and skeet shooting in the RV part. Clean bath house and lots of winter Texans. We camped at SeaWind RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We spent only 1 night here, visiting friends that winter here. This park is a county run park and was very clean and neat. Sites were large with plenty of room for our slides and awning. Plenty of activities planned nightly. Close to fishing pier on a bay off of the Gulf. Very well kept. We were here in a 38' motorhome and will be returning when in the area. SeaWind continues to be one of our favorite RV parks. Just got back from another week + at this park and found it is still well maintained, everything ship shape as usual! Staff is great! Keep up the good work. We camped at SeaWind RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
