7 RV Parks near San Angelo, Texas
May 2018 - $35.00
We got a deluxe site which overlooked a nature trail with lovely wild flowers. Unfortunately the first site we were assigned was very unlevel front to back; front wheels were about four inches off the ground. We moved to the one next door which wasn't level either, however we had blocks to fill the two inches the front wheels were off the ground. While there are mesquite trees around, most of the CG is a parking lot. The one way signs have been ignored by guests as has the 5 mph speed limit with no enforcement. Site 66 was very sloped. - Tony Connie and Rusty
May 2018 - $35.00
ok KOA. Our particular site 141 was so unlevel that we could not use our jacks and therefor could not use our slides. It rained the night we were there and it was a river down our site. - Phoenixaway
May 2018 - $32.00
The park is well maintained with level gravel sites long enough for our 35ft motorhome and tow. Top to tail parking enabled wide spaces between sites. Picnic table provided at sites but very little shade. Good wifi and cable. Trash is collected at site daily or you can use the bins. The park was quite quiet the 2 nights we stayed. Very little road noise. We would use again if in the area. - OzFrosty
May 2018 - $20.00
We stayed for 2 nights on Site 4 of the Red Arroyo area with FHU. We did not have a view but the setting was still very nice. Had we known that a little further along we could have had a lake view, we would have asked for that. We didn't use restrooms. The level pull-thru was plenty long enough for our 35ft motorhome with tow and well away from the other sites. Nice covered picnic tables. Rangers were extremely helpful when we rang to book and advised us to enter via the South Entrance. A very quiet park but not much shade. It was very windy but also very warm. Would stay here again. - OzFrosty
May 2018 - $20.00
We stayed here for a quick overnight while driving through Texas. We had a site in the Red Arroyo CG and had a lake view. It was quite a trek to the restrooms, but they were clean, as was the campsite. As is typical of Texas in the summer, lots of ants but we didn't have trouble keeping them out of our trailer. The pads all looked pretty level, and they have covered picnic tables. Excellent Verizon coverage. There is a very nice HEB just a few miles from the park if you need to stock up. Like all Texas state parks, there is a per person entrance fee that is waived if you have a parks pass. - wulfleton
Mar 2018 - $20.00
First visit to this beautiful sp. The campsite was great not on top of other sites plenty of space. Restrooms in the bald eagle area were clean for the most part. Better than what I imagined. The south entrance has a firewood vending machine just in case you forgot to grab some before coming in. The bald eagle area is really close to 288 and the south entrance is closer to town and the lake. Our site had no shaded picnic table but others did. We actually set up in the wrong area due to failing to read the sign off the highway (our fault) just know that there aren't signs inside the camping area to let you know where you are at. There was some sort of race going on at the park over the weekend so it was booked but never heard anything and neighbors were very quiet. We had 41 mph winds hit early in the morning some people packed up as their tent didn't hold up but we stayed. Would visit again in the future it was great. Staff was friendly at both ends of the park and very helpful. - dathasha
Sep 2016 - $50.00
Daily rates have jumped from $38.00 to $50.00 per day! Pricey? Compare the area's other RV Parks.... not a RESORT!
Has a very good store of RV goods and Ice, some food and cold beverages.
Many shade trees.
A little out of town, but right on a lake for fishing, swimming, water sports. - Blackie13
Aug 2016 - $55.00
We loved the new site renovations. They are large and spacious with fire pits and picnic tables. Quiet and peaceful on the lake. Lake front views, great walking/running paths. Bath facilities left a little to be desired. An upgrade to those facilities would be super. We have an RV so we were fine, but would have benefited from nicer facilities for restroom and bathing with having larger families. Love this park, great distance from our home in Midland. Can't wait to come back. - thecollinsclan
Apr 2016 - $44.00
The park was really clean and new owners were nice. Only complaint is we stayed in site 55 and was way too close. We had about 8 feet between the each. The pullout was in our small camping area when neighbor setup. I would not recommend any of the 50 thru 58 numbered sites. - LuluBoyd
Oct 2017 - $33.00
They asked to call a cell # 15 min before arriving, I got no answer, called the office again and she had someone call me. Entrance is a little tight but not awful. Then directions to office are not obvious. Paperwork for overnight was intrusive... Date of Birth??? Employer??? 3 pages long... obviously set up for long term rental. They Recommend surge protection on Elect. Park is clean, reasonably quiet (a little road noise). WIFI instruction sheet came with a gift bag of 3 mini bottles of water, a packet of tissues and some candies. The instructions included the comment "When it works, it works, when it doesn't it doesn't"... slow, but ok for email. Map of park on wall in office is not to scale, I followed the route and couldn't make the turn, but circled around took a different route and made it OK. As an overnite it's OK. - Casarolls
Oct 2016 - $38.00
Laundry has new washers and dryers.
Only year and half old.
Wide open. Quiet.
All sites are extra long and drive thru
Not much shade for summer heat. - Blackie13
Jun 2018 - $15.00
Park for active and retired military only. Two areas.. trees for long term, parking lot for others. Easy access, pull thru though we don't unhook and was out over travel lane and nobody had a problem. Stayed 1 night and didn't unhook due to early departure next morning. Check in was easy, very nice and professional. Would not recommend extended stay due to lack of shade trees and sparten parking lot conditions. We will stay again because of cost and convenience. Great park for passing through. - Semper Paratus
May 2018 - $20.00
We arrived at Goodfellow Rec Camp on a Wednesday afternoon for a two-night stay. We had made telephonic reservations 45 days out. However, the Office is closed on Wednesday, so when we arrived the Camp Host directed us to a couple 50A FHU back-in sites from which we could select. We parked and connected. Sites were concrete, however they had not been swept or edged in some time. Trees had not been trimmed, grass mowing, weed-eating, edging and cleanliness through-out the park was not a priority. An oddity was the enormous cast steel ground box with lid that covered the water hook-up. It had to be manipulated to access the water hydrant. No idea why that was there, it was so hot from the sun, when we arrived that you couldn't lift it without gloves. Trash cans had overflown near the restrooms. Camp host was very friendly and offered his assistance several times. I visited the Office the next morning to pay, they were not welcoming nor informative. Just took my payment. No welcome, do you have any questions, here is what we offer, etc. This park is in an excellent location, and with some work could be an outstanding park, however, currently it is not. - T_E_B
Nov 2015 - $15.00
The older area of the park is ok, with some shade, but the new area is just a parking lot. Not a very interesting or pretty park, but it is near a lake. It looks like a nice place for a big picnic, but not really great for a destination stay. The host was super friendly and helpful. The park is a few miles from the base, so no base services, but there is a gas/convenience store within walking distance. There was some traffic noise during the day, but it was very quiet at night. The wifi was inoperative and apparently, no one knows how to fix it. The cell service was good. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this park, but it was a handy enough place to stay for a night. - KAP99
Apr 2018 - $35.00
Not set up for anything but long term campers. Utilities were at the rear of RV and shared. We will not stay there again. Go farther into town! - MajandMrs

Water Valley is a tiny community with an RV park that is located just out of San Angelo, Tx. Tom Green County maintains the park. When you arrive at the campground, you park where there is an available site (first come, first serve). An attendant will come by your RV to collect payment. Even though there are no sewer hookups at the sites, there is a dump station. This is a beautiful park, next to a small river. It is very quiet & you can't hear highway noise. There are no showers, but there are small wooden structures with toilets. There is also a stone, covered building/pavillion that can be rented out. The lightening bugs are wonderful to watch here. There are lots of trees. This place is perfect for just getting away. - SassyPapasan
