This was a good location to visit the Alamo and Riverwalk. Sites were fairly level and the park was quiet. Laundry was clean. office staff were very nice and helpful. Fresh pizza available in the office or delivered to site. We opted for water and electric only to cut cost. Good ATT signal, Wifi good in office, spotty at our site. We camped at San Antonio KOA in a Motorhome.

The city bus picks up in front of the campground and was clean and felt safe. $2.75 for all day. Dropped off near The Alamo.

Overall Rating:

This was our first stay at a KOA and I must admit the facilities were top notch but so were the prices! The sites were all gravel and somewhat level. This is a HUGE campground! There are many very large Pecan trees scattered around the campground which gives decent shade if you get the right spot but can make using sat TV a bit tricky. It's very easy access from I-10 and also if you are coming from or going to Austin again it's very easy to navigate to/from the park. We camped at San Antonio KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Location is excellent for seeing the sights in San Antonio and is literally right down the street from the Spurs arena. We didn't use the bus which has a stop right outside the gate because there are parking lots very near Riverwalk which are very little more than the bus tickets (paid $10 in one and $5 in another).

We have stayed here probably a dozen times in the past. Very close to the AT&T Center and downtown attractions. RV park is right on the city bus line to downtown. Park is well maintained and over the years we have found the owner is continuously putting money back into the park in the form of new structures, evening activities, playground equipment, pool, etc. Staff are always friendly. We full-time and will probably one day make this our home base. Sites are level with reliable power supply and has cable. Campground is easy to get to off of I-35. Good roads throughout the campground and is gated at night providing security. We camped at San Antonio KOA in a Motorhome.

Restaurant on site that serves breakfast that is mouthwatering. Good water pressure and WiFi as well as cable. Showers and restrooms clean and tidy considering amount of people. Would stay here again. We camped at San Antonio KOA in a Motorhome.

Really liked the big old trees throughout the grounds. Everything felt well cared for. Sites are packed tight, as usual for commercial campgrounds. We opted for a water+electric only site to save $10/night. Note that the trail that runs next to the campground does not connect to the River Walk or Missions Trail. We camped at San Antonio KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We do not usually stay at KOAs because they are generally overpriced, old and not big-rig friendly. This location is definitely a step up for KOA. It is still overpriced - but at least the lots and interior roads can be navigated by a big rig with tow. A quaint little feature is there on site "restaurant". This term is used very loosely. (LOL). But other than that - water pressure is good. WiFi is good and there are lots of very tame fat squirrels waiting to be fed. Note: this KOA is a gated location. We camped at San Antonio KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

San Antonia River walk is a short drive away or you can take the city bus from the front gate of the park. The 4 Spanish missions are a definite 'must see'.

An ideal location to access San Antonio using the local bus that stops right outside the gate. This is a gated park and is well controlled. This is also a very quiet park - no road or train noises so a good rest ensured. Food is available - breakfasts, pizza etc. Did not use bathrooms but has a very good laundry. Good WiFi and cell reception. Long pull-thru, FHU sites. Pool was clean and well kept although being holidays was very busy. We camped at San Antonio KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit the San Antonio River Walk and take the cruise. Of course the Alamo where you must see the 17 minute film. Another mission to see is San Jose, just out of town also Market Square. Eat at Rita's by the Walk and also Dick's Restaurant where the staff try not to be helpful!!! Such fun. Drove to Austin from here to visit the Capital building.

Tips for other Campers:

Bike path to nearby parks is nice. Enjoyed Pletz park with fitness stations and open fields to throw the ball with our dog. Alamo was very good, but we preferred seeing the missions. The western art museum was a nice surprise, and it's free Tuesday evenings. Pick up the bus at the campground. Pleasant and cheap.

This was a nice campground with pretty good internet, and cable. They had 200 or so sites, but they were very cramped. We had to pull in to our site so that our door and picnic table were on the same side as our neighbors like a buddy site. We could almost touch our neighbors on both sides when we had our slides out. If they didn't try to cram so many sites into one park it would have been a lot more enjoyable. We were fairy close to the Alamo and River Walk, so the location was good. Nice KOA park. The sites are gravel and flat, but very tight. The park has strong wifi, a small store at the office, pool, showers, laundry room, showers, playground, etc. The sites each have a picnic table and many trees. Location is convenient to the major freeways and downtown. Very good security. See the pictures and full review at our blog at thegilliamsisland. We camped at San Antonio KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The campground is great. Very clean bathrooms and showers, great water pressure in the showers and plenty of hot water, a good selection of cable channels, Verizon gets 4G with 4 bars, staff is fabulous, and interior roads are easy to navigate. We are parked on level gravel lot with a patio. Our site is a bit short for us and a bit tight, but definitely doable. We had a small patio with a picnic table. There is large beautiful pool with a really nice deck and lounge chairs. There is a large approx. 1 acre pond on the property. During the weekends they have various social and food events and things for the kiddies to do. The KOA won the 2015 best KOA award and it's obvious why. Washing machines $2.00, dryers $1.50. It's a short drive to The Alamo and Riverwalk. There is a city bus that stops in front of the KOA that goes to both. We would definitely stay again. We camped at San Antonio KOA in a Motorhome.

Do not miss The Alamo or Riverwalk. On Tuesdays the Briscoe Western Art Museum along the River Walk is free after 4 pm. It's a nice small museum and they have a wonderful diorama of The Alamo with figurines and audio explanations.

One of the best, no question about it. Location is great, city bus stop right at the gate, goes directly downtown to River Walk and the Alamo in about 25 minutes. Big park but doesn't feel crowded, walking paths around the perimeter, fresh pizza available on site, nice people. Wifi worked well. Definitely the place to stay in San Antonio!
