Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This review pertains to site 76. We stayed at Wagon Master RV in late September in our 43' Class A motorhome with tow. Site 76 is a pull through with water & 50amp service only, no sewer. Plenty long for our rig and tow, literally next to a barn. As far as the park overall, it would be WONDERFUL if the large entrance area and egress into the campsites was paved as this gravel area kicks up lots of dust! Many of the spaces at Wagon Master are filled with long term residents, so if park is full it seems it is because they simply don't offer that many true RV spaces. Sites are wide with plenty of room between. Clean showers, restrooms and laundry. Staff was very pleasant and we had fun watching the alpacas in the fields nextdoor to our site. We would stay here again if in the area & willing to put up with the dust. We camped at Wagon Master RV Park in a Motorhome.

Wagon Master RV Park, owner at Wagon Master RV Park responded to this review

Thank you for your review. You visited us after a solid month of no rain. Normally our gravel roads are smooth and virtually dust free. We have twelve sites designated for weekly and daily campers, and yes, we could rent 20 more nightly if we had them. RV parks have to cater to the demand of the area, and we have many monthly folks here because of doctors and grandkids in the area. Glad you enjoyed the alpacas.

The staff is really friendly and will come to your site to address any complaint. It is kept immaculately clean with no trash anywhere. The alpacas are in a large 2-3 acre field and are fun to watch. There is a lot of grass, all roads and sites are gravel with fairly level sites and many pull-thru sites. There are two dog runs and the gravel/dirt roads will never burn your pets' feet. The swimming pool is small, but not heavily used. The permanent residents have their own loop, and all the sites are well kept. There are several Osage Orange trees (horse apples in Texas parlance). Throw a couple of these neon green fruits under your RV and they make great insect repellents. There are no fire rings or grills provided. I will definitely stay here again when we are in the area. We camped at Wagon Master RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here overnight on the way down from Oklahoma to south Texas so we didn't spend a lot of time in the park. I was able to make reservations online before we left OK, so that was nice. The office was closed when we arrived but they had left us a park map with clear instructions so we had no trouble finding our spot. The bathrooms were very nice and clean although having to use a pass code to open the door was annoying especially when you don't remember it and have to make a trip back to the rig to find it. Other from that we enjoyed our stay so much that we decided to stay there on the way back. This time they were full but allowed us to park in front of their maintenance shop so we could plug in and have water. It was almost dark when we arrived after an exhausting day of driving and when my husband made the circle around to back up to the shop, he cut it too close and the front of the RV caught the back window of his truck shattering it. (we have a goose neck instead of the regular 5th wheel hitch). Glass all over the place inside the truck, the bed, and on the ground. We apologized to the maintenance man for the mess on his parking area and he said not to worry about it. We had also suffered roof damage while down in Donna and were trying to make it back to OK without ripping the EDPM on the roof any worse than it already was. He directed us to the local Camping World to try and get it taped down so we could continue on back to OK. After such a terrible trip, I was pleasantly surprised when I got my credit card bill and saw that the park manager had not charged us for our night in front of the maintenance shop. So very thoughtful and their generosity was much appreciated. We camped at Wagon Master RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stopped by for one night. The owners & workers were wonderful. The alpacas were fun to watch & even more fun to hand feed. Because of this we decided to stay a second night. If you can get by with water/electric only, ask for the site by the barn. It offers the best view of the alpacas. We camped at Wagon Master RV Park in a Motorhome.

Great place to stay when you are in the Denton area. We have stayed at Wagon Master a number of times with each experience being extremely positive. We love the alpacas and especially the alpaca guard dogs. You can't go wrong staying here. (WiFi can be a little slow but that is just typical of RV parks...) Thanks to the owners for always making our stay enjoyable!!

The pull through sites in the wagon wheel area are spacious. There only a few trees, so you get the full Texas sun. Each site has a picnic table, but there is no fire ring. Sewer connections are placed at the rear of some sites, so you might need a line extension. All the roads are gravel, but in relatively good shape. We camped at Wagon Master RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We arrived on Sunday, having made a reservation some weeks before, to find them closed, with no record of our reservation. After some phone calls, we were assigned a site next to the equipment barn, along the entrance drive. As expected, there was some traffic noise. Wifi was unusable at this site. Water and electric worked; no sewer. We walked through the "normal" loops; they looked very attractive and well maintained. Hopefully others will have a better experience than ours. We camped at Wagon Master RV Park in a Motorhome.

Wagon Master RV Park, owner at Wagon Master RV Park responded to this review

Dave,
I apologize that your instructions were not posted on the door, my fault entirely. We are always closed on Sunday's, our one day off, and it slipped my mind on Mother's Day. The site you were in was a water/electric site, and the one you reserved online. We could have helped with the wifi connection had we known you had trouble. We aim to provide a good experience and apologize that you had issues. Best of luck to you in your future travels and we hope you will give us another try in the future.

This was our first stay at Wagon Master. It was lovely. The sites are "Texas Sized" and the facilities are spic and span, and just charming. Wi-Fi worked well in our site. The park is clean, well-maintained, and felt secure. We enjoyed watching the guardian dogs laying with their alpaca herd. You can see them well from site 63. The sunsets over the alpaca fields make for amazing photos. We will definitely return! We camped at Wagon Master RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Great park 5 minutes from i35. Numerous perms, but all well manicured. 60s loop might be tough in the Summer sans shade. Alpaca area and two pups who watch them are the big draw. Att and Vz average strength. WiFi excellent strength. Numerous TV stations from DFW market. Smaller pool, small community bldg. Would recommend. We camped at Wagon Master RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This was the first day of our sixty day journey. Wife and I are celebrating our Sixtieth Wedding Anniversary with our sixty day journey - one day for each year. This was the perfect park with which to begin our journey. The managing couple are gracious and generous with their spirit and wisdom. This is among the best parks in which we have stayed! We enjoyed our stay in our Airstream 30 foot Classic. We camped at Wagon Master RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We were delighted with this nice little RV park! It was neat as a pin, had great amenities, a nice pool, large laundry room, & a nice community room-all with a western theme. The spaces are decently far apart with nice trees, all very long and level-great for big rigs! The highlight was the small alpaca herd that we got to hand feed during their daily evening feeding. The owners are super nice and even offer some fun homeschool-enrichment classes for any interested kids in the park, (one afternoon each week). There are some long term residents but their rigs and spaces were just as neat and tidy as all the others! It's only a mile off I-35 but in a beautiful, quiet country setting. We would definitely stay here again if looking for something about an hour north of Ft. Worth. Very reasonable rates for full hook-up/50amp. Price reflects a Good Sam discount. We camped at Wagon Master RV Park in a Motorhome.

For other campers information: The train tracks are about two miles away. Sometimes they can be heard, but they are not nearby. We are glad you enjoyed yourself here and appreciate the nice words about our park. Happy trails.

We have been on the road for a month full timing as a family. We had to stay close to Dallas to fly back east in early May. When we discovered that there was alpacas at this RV park there was no question this is where we wanted to be. It turned out to be our favorite RV park to date

The park owners live on site and are closely involved with what happens at the park. They were just a text away if we needed anything. We stayed for three weeks and enjoyed the pool and feeding the alpacas. They have a wonderful homeschool program for residents. Our site was very close to bathrooms and I was so impressed with the cleanliness and beauty of the bathrooms. They also have a beautiful clubhouse you can rent for events or cookouts. The laundry facility was spacious and very affordable. Open 24 hours a day.

The Wagon Master runs at full capacity most of the time so if you want a reservation check far in an advance. We absolutely loved our stay in Sanger Texas.  We camped at Wagon Master RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Wagon Master RV Park. We stayed for 3 nights while our daughter was at UNT orientation down in Denton, TX. We met the owners who are delightfully nice people. The RV park is also an alpaca farm, which is very cool. When they feed the alpacas in the evening (about 8 PM) they will let you go with them and you can help feed and pet the animals. Neat experience and very lovable creatures. The sites are all fairly large and not cramped on top of each other. The roads are wide and gravel covered. The entrance area was a little rough but understandable due to all of the rain that has fallen in the last few months in North Texas. We will definitely stay there again as we go up to the Denton area to visit our daughter while she attends UNT. We camped at Wagon Master RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
