Great park! Very neat and clean. Good sized sites with picnic table and grassy area. Nice pool. Lots of long term folks but very tidy. Sweet couple managing the facility. Feeding and watching the alpacas lots of fun. Good WiFi and cable. If you have trouble getting connected to WiFi, allow pop ups, then reboot computer We camped at Wagon Master RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Wagon Master provided a great place to stay and interesting with the alpaca farm! From my initial contact to reserve to amending our reservation through the check-in process, the lady in the office was very helpful and pleasant. The first evening we took our visiting pre-teen cousins to feed the alpaca and the gentleman who oversees the petting and feeding was equally as nice and great with the kids. The 2nd day I awoke not feeling well and needed a down day, so I called to ask for an extra day. She had to do some maneuvering, but kindly worked it out so we could stay on the same lot. We highly recommend a stay here! We camped at Wagon Master RV Park in a Motorhome.

History Buffs - be sure to visit Dealy Plaza and the Book Depository where JFK was shot. an easy drive into Dallas. Denton is a nice town for amenities such as drug store, restaurant and anything most cities offer. We ate Mexican at the Mazatlan restaurant there and it was delicious.

Clean, well-organized park, with a beautifully clear swimming pool. Our only issue was with the online reservations. While it works beautifully, allowing one to choose one's own space, it makes no provision for discounts. We had to wait until the office opened next day to get the discount taken off the charge. Because of the $3.50 charge for online reservations, that $3.60 discount only saved us ten cents. And then we had to phone the office staff to unlock the office door some time after the office was supposed to have been open, making departure a little frustrating. Otherwise, we'd be happy to stay here again -- just without the online reservations. We camped at Wagon Master RV Park in a Motorhome.

Both the Conoco (Chicken Express restaurant) and the Chevron stations on the west side of the I-35 intersection can handle big diesel rigs. An O'Reilly's auto parts store is across the street from the Conoco and carries DEF.

This park was clean and well maintained; however our checking in process was a bungled mess. We made on-line reservations and had a slot number which was 70. When my husband checked in at the office, he was told to go to slot 63. We went to that slot only to find the water connection full of muddy water making that connection unusable. My husband called the manager 4 times on his cell phone trying to let them know the condition of the pad site. He was hung up on 4 times and finally received a text telling him to go to slot 70, our original slot. So confusing!! The manager did, however drive to our site and apologized but we could not understand why they didn't just send us to our reserved site number in the first place. Would not stay here again unless it was absolutely necessary. The roads leading into the pad sites were narrow making it hard to turn into the actual site. The roads/sites were gravel. The park is quiet, a point in their favor and it was easy to find from the highway. We probably wouldn't stay in this park again unless absolutely necessary. We camped at Wagon Master RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

I’m sincerely sorry there was a water issue in site 63. It was the result of the Camper in it the night before leaving the water on when they pulled out. These issues just happen from time to time and we do our best to rectify them quickly. Your cell phone wasn’t connecting to the office phone, I would never hang up on someone. That’s why i texted you to go ahead and move to another site and we drove up immediately to make sure you got the message. Best to you in your travels. Ken and Janet Woolston

Overall Rating:

Mixed feelings about this park. Pros: Sites are well laid out and, especially in the back area, almost spacious. Pretty quiet even though there are many long tremors, some even with kids. Alpaca viewing is interesting but watch out for the "guard dogs"...they really are. Roads are good and well maintained but of a coarse gravel mix which is uncomfortable to walk on and could raise dust, but everybody does drive very slowly to keep dust down. Utilities are generally good although our water connection at second site was below ground and awkward. Owner and workers were very nice and helpful Cons: Very high occupancy rate. We wanted to stay for a week and had to move to a temporarily vacated long-term site (very nice) to make the full week. Wi-fi is Very poor. Erratic connections and drop-offs, difficulty logging in (every time you put a device to sleep or disconnect) and speed seems variable. Free, but marginally usable at times. We camped at Wagon Master RV Park in a Motorhome.

Thank you for staying at Wagon Master. Our guardian dogs are actually quite friendly to people, just serious when it comes to dogs. They are working dogs that protect our Alpaca herd. Most of our campers enjoy the dogs as much as the Alpacas! I’m glad we could accommodate you. Happy Trails.

All elements satisfactory as far as utilities, length and width of space, maneuverability, and staff attitude. Wi-Fi is evidently a minimum of $7.00 for 24 hours usage, nothing was said about this, you discover what the set-up is after logging on with the provided info. You don't have to take it after logging on. Signage needs to be more prominent on FM488. I drove by and went another two miles or so before able to turn around. Somewhat dusty, nothing unusual. I'd say this is a $28.00 per night park but the proximity to I-35, o.k., and the alpacas (God's coolest creatures) are worth the present posted rate. We camped at Wagon Master RV Park in a Motorhome.

This review pertains to site 76. We stayed at Wagon Master RV in late September in our 43' Class A motorhome with tow. Site 76 is a pull through with water & 50amp service only, no sewer. Plenty long for our rig and tow, literally next to a barn. As far as the park overall, it would be WONDERFUL if the large entrance area and egress into the campsites was paved as this gravel area kicks up lots of dust! Many of the spaces at Wagon Master are filled with long term residents, so if park is full it seems it is because they simply don't offer that many true RV spaces. Sites are wide with plenty of room between. Clean showers, restrooms and laundry. Staff was very pleasant and we had fun watching the alpacas in the fields nextdoor to our site. We would stay here again if in the area & willing to put up with the dust. We camped at Wagon Master RV Park in a Motorhome.

Thank you for your review. You visited us after a solid month of no rain. Normally our gravel roads are smooth and virtually dust free. We have twelve sites designated for weekly and daily campers, and yes, we could rent 20 more nightly if we had them. RV parks have to cater to the demand of the area, and we have many monthly folks here because of doctors and grandkids in the area. Glad you enjoyed the alpacas.

The staff is really friendly and will come to your site to address any complaint. It is kept immaculately clean with no trash anywhere. The alpacas are in a large 2-3 acre field and are fun to watch. There is a lot of grass, all roads and sites are gravel with fairly level sites and many pull-thru sites. There are two dog runs and the gravel/dirt roads will never burn your pets' feet. The swimming pool is small, but not heavily used. The permanent residents have their own loop, and all the sites are well kept. There are several Osage Orange trees (horse apples in Texas parlance). Throw a couple of these neon green fruits under your RV and they make great insect repellents. There are no fire rings or grills provided. I will definitely stay here again when we are in the area. We stayed here overnight on the way down from Oklahoma to south Texas so we didn't spend a lot of time in the park. I was able to make reservations online before we left OK, so that was nice. The office was closed when we arrived but they had left us a park map with clear instructions so we had no trouble finding our spot. The bathrooms were very nice and clean although having to use a pass code to open the door was annoying especially when you don't remember it and have to make a trip back to the rig to find it. Other from that we enjoyed our stay so much that we decided to stay there on the way back. This time they were full but allowed us to park in front of their maintenance shop so we could plug in and have water. It was almost dark when we arrived after an exhausting day of driving and when my husband made the circle around to back up to the shop, he cut it too close and the front of the RV caught the back window of his truck shattering it. (we have a goose neck instead of the regular 5th wheel hitch). Glass all over the place inside the truck, the bed, and on the ground. We apologized to the maintenance man for the mess on his parking area and he said not to worry about it. We had also suffered roof damage while down in Donna and were trying to make it back to OK without ripping the EDPM on the roof any worse than it already was. He directed us to the local Camping World to try and get it taped down so we could continue on back to OK. After such a terrible trip, I was pleasantly surprised when I got my credit card bill and saw that the park manager had not charged us for our night in front of the maintenance shop. So very thoughtful and their generosity was much appreciated. We camped at Wagon Master RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stopped by for one night. The owners & workers were wonderful. The alpacas were fun to watch & even more fun to hand feed. Because of this we decided to stay a second night. If you can get by with water/electric only, ask for the site by the barn. It offers the best view of the alpacas. We camped at Wagon Master RV Park in a Motorhome.

Great place to stay when you are in the Denton area. We have stayed at Wagon Master a number of times with each experience being extremely positive. We love the alpacas and especially the alpaca guard dogs. You can't go wrong staying here. (WiFi can be a little slow but that is just typical of RV parks...) Thanks to the owners for always making our stay enjoyable!!

The pull through sites in the wagon wheel area are spacious. There only a few trees, so you get the full Texas sun. Each site has a picnic table, but there is no fire ring. Sewer connections are placed at the rear of some sites, so you might need a line extension. All the roads are gravel, but in relatively good shape. We've been living here for 7 months and absolutely love it. The sites are very big with plenty of room between campers. The grounds, pool, and laundry facility are all well maintained. The owners are nice and helpful. This campground has the cheapest monthly prices around and is by far the best value for your money. The alpacas and guard dogs are precious and we loved seeing them as we came and left. We are leaving because of my husband's job but we would definitely stay here again. We stayed here for 14 months and loved it. Almost all the sites are Very large with tons of room to spread out. They have an old western/Texas theme and an alpaca farm so lots of great atmosphere. The owners are great people and helped us out on many occasions. They work very hard to keep the park in the great condition it's in. It's very quiet and peaceful and they do a great job making sure it stays that way. We had to leave due to a new job and had a hard time finding a new park that lived up to our new standards. They do get full so get your reservation in to get the best spots. We will go out of our way to stay here again in the future. We camped at Wagon Master RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
