Quiet, laid-back atmosphere. Beautiful shade trees down by the Guadalupe River. Great for fishing. I wish they had a swimming pool and/or area for swimming on the river. We camped at River Shade RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
Tips for other Campers:
JJ's Cafe and Dixie Grill are two good restaurants for home-style meals.

We had a narrow gravel site with a small concrete patio. It appears that the park has many long-term and/or weekend residents. Campground is built on a slight hill next to the river, but sites are carved out of the hills and we had no trouble leveling our motorhome. Free WiFi and good cable selection. We camped at River Shade RV Park in a Motorhome.

We only stayed at the park for a quick visit to downtown San Antonio for the night. The park was conveniently located for that, although the sign for the park is difficult to see from the highway. The site we stayed in was a pull through and very long, accommodating our 42 ft fifth wheel and tow truck along with another truck and small trailer. It was a bit difficult to understand one of the signs to get to our site, but we made it. The park is on a river and it looked like it would have been fun to explore it, but time did not allow for that. When checking in the clerk was very nice and helpful. It appeared the majority of the sites were occupied by older units that were permanent residents, but for an overnight stay it was more than adequate and we would stay again. I can't comment on the bathrooms or shower house as we did not use them. Our rate reflected a Good Sam cash discount. We camped at River Shade RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a small park mostly inhabited by permanents, but it is nicely maintained. We love the ambiance with the Guadalupe River, trees, grass, ducks and squirrels. The laundry and bathrooms are older but are clean. Roads need some work. Staff is excellent. This is our favorite park in the New Braunfels area. We camped at River Shade RV Park in a Motorhome.

When we arrived here we were checked in quickly and given a long pull through. Our site was long enough but a little narrow. Unfortunately, we found every dog in the park liked our side yard too. We have never stayed in a park where this was a problem as most folks pick up after their animals. After picking up after the animals so as not to bring it in our rig, we noticed the owner's dog was quite fond of that spot and was not restricted from roaming the park and leaving "surprises". The WI-FI signal was a bit weak, bathrooms and laundry were both clean. All in all, nice place as long as you do not mind cleaning up after the owner's animal. We camped at River Shade RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

A very nice place to park our motorhome except for all the gravel sites. I guess we're spoiled. Just kidding, it is a nice place and we will return when in the area. We camped at River Shade RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed here Thanksgiving weekend and the park was almost full - many are permanent. Clean restrooms and showers. Stayed in site 19 which has a good view of the river. This is a pull-through site but has 4-5 climb to the pad and our tongue jack did drag as a result. We camped at River Shade RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We had spot #10 right on the Guadalupe River and it was beautiful. The park is older but spotlessly maintained. There are permanent residents but they are all very friendly. The owner and office staff are just super. This is one of the nicest parks we have stayed in and will be our favorite from now on in the area. We will definitely be back. We camped at River Shade RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a great park. We stayed four nights. The sites were level and plenty of room in between. Good cable and WiFi. The people at check in were very friendly. A lot of full time folks and all were very friendly as well. The only criticism I have is they have a great park area on the river. However the docks were full of duck droppings and the large grass area had a lot of dog droppings. This place is a real gem; all it needs is a little TLC. Given this we would stay here again. We camped at River Shade RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very nice park. We stayed on a waterfront site; it was very nice. We had full hookup, but there was a phone hookup, which we didn't use. Clean park, with a boat launch. We did not use the bathrooms available there. Extremely friendly owner, very welcoming. Nice views, lots of shade. We will definitely stay here when passing through. We camped at River Shade RV Park in a Motorhome.

We pulled in here after a long day driving and were very happy to have found such a cute, clean park. The owner was very nice, and we would stay here again. We like our location under the shade trees. Park is quiet and the other campers were very friendly. Bathrooms and showers are clean and well kept. Wish we could have stayed longer. We camped at River Shade RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

A very nice park. Has gorgeous landscaping. The staff is very friendly, especially the owner. She's a real howdy doody type. They have brand new bathrooms, but one drawback to this is that the bathrooms are not kept up very well, so they get pretty sad before someone gets to them, and when they are cleaned it is done piecemeal. There is mold in the shower stalls. The front of the park is kept up pretty nice, but the back of the park is pretty sad. After the fall and winter, what with all the leaves which are not picked up, the place gets to looking pretty sad. The cockroaches are also a major nuisance in the back of the park. We had an infestation and so did our neighbors. We camped at River Shade RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
Date of Stay: November, 2009 - $29.00
A beautiful park with lots of shade. Our site was just long enough to leave the truck hooked up since we were only staying one night. The employee was very friendly and mentioned that the recreation building/bathhouse was new, but we did not go in. This park is about 4 miles off of the interstate, but worth it for the shade! You pass a Wal-Mart and lots of shopping areas, so very convenient in that regard. We would stay here again. We camped at River Shade RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
Date of Stay: August, 2009 - $33.00
We really enjoyed the park, well shaded, and comfortable. We stayed two nights for the weekend. We were in sites 9 and 10, close to the river, but no easy access to the river and when we were able to get in the water, there was not really a place for the kids to play in the water. The two sites were great for our two trailers and we really enjoyed sitting around and visiting in the park. The park was full, but not crowded and people were out at their trailers and social. It was a very comfortable park, we would stay here again if in the Seguin area. We camped at River Shade RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We used this park for an overnight stop off of IH-10 near San Antonio. We called ahead from the road and requested a spot. Since we were arriving late, the very friendly manager told us to just pick a spot upon arrival and settle the bill in the morning. We parked in a long pull through site that did not require us to unhook the toad from our motorhome. The electrical box looked old and only had a 30 amp connection, but it checked out okay and provided sufficient power for our overnight stay. The free cable TV worked great and had many channels to select from. The park appears to have several permanent residents, some with pretty old travel trailers. The park was nicely situated along the river and had many shade trees. We would stay here again for a quick stop while traveling. We camped at River Shade RV Park in a Motorhome.
