This is a state park. It provides exactly what it advertises. No full hook ups but a great simi-private site in a nice location. The river is outstanding and a busy place this time of year.......come and enjoy it!!! We camped at Guadalupe River State Park (GRSP) in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful park about 25 miles from San Antonio....we love the state park setting, its quiet and your site is mostly secluded from the others....we had full hookups but not all the sites are....most of the sites will handle a big rig, there are 3 different camping areas here but the turkey sinks campground is the only one that can handle big rigs...our site was level and all hookups worked great...we picked up alot of local channels with antenna and our ATT cell service worked great and used our hotspot for wifi...restrooms were clean and plenty of hot water....the only reason I did not give it a 10 rating is because they charge you 7$ a person per day entrance fee even if you are camping, so although we paid 24$ a night the total cost per day was 38$....of course this is if your out of state and don't have a Texas park pass....but it was worth it because the park is beautiful.... We camped at Guadalupe River State Park (GRSP) in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for 2 nights, for the hiking and paddling on the river. The facility was very nice, as was the staff. Wonderful place for a family day-trip or for a week's stay. We would definitely go back! We camped at Guadalupe River State Park (GRSP) in a Motorhome.

Very quiet, wooded campsites. We were a little worried heading into the park with it being Spring Break, but we saw no problems - rangers and park hosts are constantly patrolling. The site lengths and widths vary considerably are are mixed with tent sites. We had to try several spots before finding one that would fit our 38' with slides, and even then we couldn't use our awning and the trees were just about on the roof. Our site was slightly unlevel but an easy fix. I would have given GRSP 10 stars if all the trails weren't closed due to recent rains - with cooler weather making swimming impossible, there wasn't much to do. We camped at Guadalupe River State Park (GRSP) in a Fifth Wheel.

We enjoyed our stay here. We love state parks and the secluded nature settings. This park gave us all that plus a lovely river! Reservations are not site specific so you get the best that's available. We were fortunate to get a large site for our 40' motorhome. It was nice and private and fairly quiet even though it was spring break week. No cell or 4G service on Verizon. I was able to text but rarely could complete a call. Time to enjoy back to nature! We got some OTA TV channels. I loved the Honey Creek ranger hike--don't miss it. It is on Saturdays, but I got lucky because they had an extra one due to spring break. My husband tried some fishing but spring breakers throwing rocks ruined that. Be advised that Texas parks require a $7 entrance fee per person per day. That actually increases the camping price to $38 for 2 people which is a lot for no sewer. I bought a Texas park pass ($70) since we were camping in another state park to help cut the cost a little. We camped at Guadalupe River State Park (GRSP) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We used this as a base to visit San Antonio. It was worth the 45 minute drive to be out of the city and in the country. Don't miss Old West Burgers on Rte 46 in Bulverde--delicious burgers and fries. Great gas prices at Walmart at intersection of Hwy 291 and 46.

Quite tight. Older park. In general, designed mainly for RVs 30' and under. Narrow sites and only a few sites suitable for RVs 35-40' wth slide-outs and awnings. Lots of overhanging trees, especially at site entrances, making it difficult to back in. No pull-through sites. It is nice and quiet and the river is beautiful, although not visible from the camp sites. We camped at Guadalupe River State Park (GRSP) in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a quiet wooded park with Guadalupe River access. The sites vary in length and we had to try a second site in order to fit comfortably. Our experience in Texas State Parks has always been very positive. The rangers are very knowledgeable and the facilities are always clean. The river is the big draw for this park. San Antonio is only 40 miles south. We toured the missions in SA and found the tours excellent. The town of Bourne (pronounced Bernie) is 20 west and very quaint.

Love it there. We live 30 miles away and go there just to clear our minds. The hike to the overlook is worthwhile. We like site 57, enough trees to feel like you're secluded from neighbors. Big site, too. We camped at Guadalupe River State Park (GRSP) in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed in Turkey Sink, space 52. Site was pretty level with one block needed on front tires. Real nice hiking trail down to the river, where another trail followed river for 1/2 mile. Great photography opportunities. We are also able to access Honey Creek State Natural Area for a guided hike, which the hold every Saturday at 9:00 am.
Cell coverage and OTA channels were fine and we were able to get our DISH satellite working. Will definetely stay here again. We camped at Guadalupe River State Park (GRSP) in a Motorhome.

Very nice state park. The bathrooms were the cleanest we have seen anywhere. The sites are large and wooded in the Turkey Sink area. Some of the sites, while large are a little tight to back a big Motorhome into. Watch the overhead trees. Water and good 50 AMP service at sites. Great hiking, the river is breath taking, we and our dogs had a wonderful time playing in it. The Discovery Center is excellent and well staffed. Park hosts were as good as they get, very helpful. Wifi isn't available at the sites but you get a good signal at the bathrooms. Cell service isn't good, and we could only get 4 antenna TV stations. Wish we had known sooner, Tweedy's an excellent RV supply center, is only 7 miles down the road. Good if you need supplies or parts. We camped at Guadalupe River State Park (GRSP) in a Motorhome.

Overall the park is great. The trails are well maintained and the facilities are top notch (considering it's a state park). The camping sites are large and plenty of room to move around. Though the bathrooms are clean overall, the shower area within the bathrooms were in need of some attention.

The family has stayed at numerous state parks and this by far has been best maintained. We camped at Guadalupe River State Park (GRSP) in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed in the Turkey Sink Campground area. The state park has large, wooded sites, each with a large recently constructed tent pad. The electric hookups have been upgraded and the sites each have 50 amp service, though the state website still doesn't reflect that. Now that there is water in it again, the river is beautiful, especially with fall colors. We camped at Guadalupe River State Park (GRSP) in a Travel Trailer.

Gave it an 8 because no sewer or 50 amp, otherwise easily a 9. Very quiet park. Camped here between Christmas and New Years. Camped here in a 40 ft 5th wheeler. Half the sites are suited for this size trailer. The other half would have been pretty tight. Our site was flat as a board and level. The neighbor had to use a couple of levelers. Each site also has a good, large, new tent pad either next to or behind RV site. Roads are large to get to the sites. Sites 55-65 are deep deep. Had to be a little careful backing in to avoid some small branches that need to be cut. We were able only to extend our awning about 75% of the way due to low branches. Our camper has three large slides but still had good room on each side once we backed it in correctly. This is a 30 amp park. We only come here in the late fall, winter and early spring when we will not need both air conditioners blasting. River area is awesome - clear wide flowing river - knee deep in most parts - much deeper in others. Pulling into ranger station is a little daunting with a bigger rig, with a narrow entrance. You have to watch both sides carefully not to wipe out building or guard shack - easily doable - just be careful. Good water pressure. Both their water storage tanks here were at 95% so that probably helped a lot also. About 50% of the sites have a lot of trees between the sites - the others are kind of close. Each site has solid picnic table and fire ring. Staff was very friendly. Internet is hit and miss. We were driving around and was getting 5 bars, and then no bars. In the Turkey Loop where we were half the sites had a marginal signal and half didn't. T-Mobile and AT&T worked out here fine; both had 4G. Quiet park. Not a lot to do, which is great. They have a very good bird sanctuary and tours on Saturday. Trails are nice but more on the rustic side, maintained, but not so well. To me this is a perfect park to be close to San Antonio or to simply want some peace and quiet. We camped at Guadalupe River State Park (GRSP) in a Fifth Wheel.

Excellent park. Ranger guided hiking at dusk for all ages. My young daughters really enjoyed this park even though we were there during a burn ban and severe drought. Great hiking, biking, swimming and overall activities making for a great workout. Very professional, helpful Park Rangers, office personnel, and field representatives. All sites are back ins with table, shade, and fire ring. We camped at Guadalupe River State Park (GRSP) in a Travel Trailer.

We love GRSP. This was our 3rd trip there in the last 5 years. Since we have had a little rain this spring in Texas, everything was green with lots of wildflowers and the river was flowing well. We stayed in site 69 which was a little tight for our 40 foot 5th wheel (with 4 slides). We didn't have enough room to let out our awning. Lots of birds. My wife kept track and we saw about 39 different types of birds. We took a hike with the Park Interpretive Ranger on Sunday morning and it was awesome. Will definitely return. We camped at Guadalupe River State Park (GRSP) in a Fifth Wheel.
