18 Parks near Sugar Land, Texas
Apr 2016 - $55.00
We stayed 2 different nights, parked by the office in pull in site 124. Older park with many full time trailers, campers, with huge trees, so watch your Sat, but strong cable TV & WiFi service. Super nice and friendly office staff. We stayed here to be close to galleria area. Pool area looked spotless and park is well maintained. We will stay here again when in Houston. With highway construction on Beltway 8, if you are going north on Beltway 8,watch for your east feeder street to I-59. Park is located east of PPL RV sales lots and behind Sterling McCall auto dealership, on the south side of I-59 - RV park has a sign on 1-59( southwest freeway). If you are going south on Beltway 8 , exit at 1-59 feeder road and go east. - Oooooooo
Oct 2015 - $50.00
Sites are concrete ad, very narrow. We were here for only 1 nite & our site was right next to office, laundry & showers. Very convenient but no privacy. Entire complex is mostly concrete, narrow strips of grass. Landscaping was nice & well maintained. Laundry was superb. Dog walk area & dog wash facility! Nice rec room & heated pool. Located in a very congested area in back of several car dealerships. Would not stay here for an extended period bit one nite was fine. - Hulda
Jun 2015 - $22.00
We stayed here for 6 weeks while working the floods of Memorial Day 2015. Owners are consistently grooming and cleaning the sites. There are a lot of workers of various occupations, but it's very quiet, people are friendly but not in your business. The laundry is clean with several options of cycles so the $2.50 seems fair. We kept a clothesline between the trees in the back of our RV for line drying and that was readily acceptable. The pool was treated 3 X/day for bugs and the most I saw using it were 3, including me. An exercise room, a computer room, and pool table rounded out the community hall. They recently added TengoInternet, have cable, and Wi-Fi works great. Very close to the 59, the 8, the 610 easy to get to any place in Houston. Found it to be a utilitarian city but lots of wonderful places to eat. Close to La Porte, Galveston, and Beaumont. Would come again anytime. - Barbara Smith
Jan 2016 - $42.00
This is a gated facility within the Houston city limits. We had read that a lot of patients seeking extended medical care stayed here and found this is true. We read about road noise and were fortunate to get a site in the middle of the park that was not too loud. The person who greater us the office and her husband were very nice and helpful. However, they don't own the park and seemed to be hand tied by lack of funds. The restrooms should be closed! The access ramp is far too steep, clearly not up to code. Really not sure why Good Sam would rate them so highly. If you have another option, I would seriously consider staying somewhere else. - Ncw
Mar 2015 - $50.00
If you only need a convenient place close to the Houston Med center or NRG stadium complex, this facility is fine. But beware.....there are issues to mention. The roads are very tight. Large rigs will fit but only after a lot of maneuvering and stressful nail biting. The staff is very helpful assisting with this task.
The sites are level and there is a nice concrete patio and quite a bit of shade about the grounds. But beware...the hook-ups work fine but are located at the very back of the site. I had to use my electrical extension cord to reach the pedestal and 2 sections of sewer hose to reach the dump drop. Cable TV is available but half of the channels were fuzzy.
Speed bumps...UNBELIEVABLE...they are everywhere and way too close to each other. Total Overkill. It's not like you can get up to any speed on the narrow tight roads that are also lined with tow vehicles. They could easily eliminate half (or more) of these and still be effective with controlling the non-existent hot-roders
And the Noise. If extreme noise is a problem pick another facility. This park is inches from a very busy Main Street. The noise is 24/7. Loud trucks, fast obnoxious cars, and sirens at 3am.
This facility was satisfactory for what we needed, but certainly not a pristine experience. - Tcamper
Jan 2015 - $38.00
Most people in this park seem to be here for weeks or months for medical treatment so if you are only here for a few nights they put you on sites that are right by Main Rd which is busy and noisy 24/7. We were on site 72 and I think this is mainly used for storage as there wasn't even a cable hook up. Staff was very helpful putting us on site but when I asked about a quieter site he said there weren't any. We booked ahead so if this was the case I feel we should have been informed of the close proximity to the road. Access to the park is also confusing as you enter by a sharp right turn and are confronted by locked gates, we carried on up the road looking for another entrance and ended up having to work our way back round - another thing it would have been helpful to have been told when we phoned. We would not stay here again and would not recommend the park for tourists. - 2onthemove
Oct 2014 - $0.00
Apparently this park has ceased to exist - User1650
Feb 2013 - $29.00
Park is nice and quiet and the staff is friendly. It is showing it's age but everything worked. There are a lot of permanent residents some of which are a bit trashy. Wi-Fi worked great. Road to the park is narrow so watch yourself. Showers are large and work good. Pool is clean but small. Would stay again. - Brian & Corky
Sep 2012 - $18.00
We did the monthly rate as we had planned on staying longer. Says Wi-Fi available but only close to the office/Laundry, it is not reachable to the RV sites. Our site was right on the lake. Very beautiful!! Wish we could have stayed longer. Country setting but close to town and shopping. - pittstl
Feb 2016 - $20.00
Wow - this is definitely a must if you want it all. First of all, the sites are nice and far apart, so you feel private. Next, the biking/hiking trails are wonderful (some of the trails were closed when we were here due to flooded), but still lots of trails. Then you get so see all the alligators, turtles and various species birds that you want! Lots of coyotes howling when you are at your campfire too. The Texans bring their own wood, and if you would be able to do that, it would be better as their wood for $5 was 4 sticks and very wet. - Scotty 5154
Mar 2015 - $20.00
A big, beautiful state park. Sites are well separated, long, wide, and paved. Multitude of hiking trails, beautiful trees, and friendly staff. Only drawbacks, like a lot of Texas state parks, is they only have 30 amp service and no sewer hookups but had a convenient, nearby dump. Plenty of wildlife, deer, raccoons, birds, and alligators. We didn't see any gators but didn't really look either. A little far from the city of Houston, but that's ok unless you are going in frequently. Verizon service for the internet was not available. We would return. - starwind
Aug 2014 - $24.00
This is a one of the nicest campground I've stayed in with spacious sites and lots of trees. I don't think there is an undesirable site! It is very clean and very well manicured, the park rangers at the office are the nicest I've ever met and they look happy to work there and reflects in how they treat you! I am definitely going back! - User3679
Oct 2012 - $35.00
Mostly permanent residents with some campers and sites in dirty condition. There are trees but some make entering site very hard. Not a good place for large rigs. Campground grounds are not well kept. Sites are very close and one side of campground is very hard to drive into to occupy site with no outlet sign and no turn around. - dagopapa
Sep 2012 - $35.00
Most residents are long term. I called this campground by mistake because I wrote down their phone number instead of the one I intended to call. The manager stated that they do not take reservations, but then proceeded to take my information and let me know we would be expected. Access is good and our site was level. There is no disconnect for the 50A electrical outlet - I don't like connecting/disconnecting "hot". Previous reviewers indicated no shade, but some sites are partly shaded. Also, a previous reviewer indicated no big rig access. We had no trouble with a 40 ft. coach and many sites would accommodate any big rig. My only issue is that this is not a $35 per day park. - 2005-Fulltimers
May 2011 - $30.00
Small park with mostly permanent residents. Staff very friendly and helpful. Restrooms and laundry in a portable building, were in good condition. Biker bar next door has great hamburgers and friendly atmosphere (if you like that kind of thing). If you need a weekend stop in the Katy / Brookshire area for a couple of days, this place will accommodate your needs. Would stay again. - Jim & Vic
Apr 2016 - $35.00
Hard to rate as the rains were awful many roads were closed having said that the staff other then the manager were clueless we called several times to get directions and they could not give us correct directions, they have the flea market which make getting into the park on the weekends dam near impossible, the office is not clearly marked, the electric hook ups are very low to the ground and if you use a surge protector you have a difficult time plugging your power cord in it hits the ground. not a great idea when every thing is sitting in water. The office needs some adults not teenagers who when they answer the phone have a little knowledge about how to get there when the freeway is closed, getting wrong directions several times just does not cut it. The site was large but the whole park is nothing more than a giant parking lot. if you want to go to a flea market then it may be the place for you other than that I will pass you also have the toll roads which some are pass only does not take cash and no pay by mail . Would not stay here again if you are just staying the night there are a few parks right off the 10 without having to travel all over the place to get there and. - tazman1953
Apr 2016 - $30.00
Excellent access to all highways. Great office staff. - Zoni Jay
Mar 2016 - $31.00
This is a nice campground. They have some pull thru sites.
They have 50 Amp FHU available. The park is clean and tidy.
ATT & Verizon work well. Plenty of clear sky for satellite set up. Restrooms are clean individual cubicles. No train or Hwy noise. Good free WiFi. Internal roads are concrete and pads are concrete but are close together. There is a large swap meet on the site at weekends. We will stay again. - TedandJan
Apr 2016 - $55.00
Hands down the most beautiful RV park we have yet to visit. The well-manicured grass areas were golf course quality, flower beds, rose bushes and well maintained trees everywhere. Would be a disservice to call it a campground. It's a resort. Well-appointed clubhouse with pool tables, table tennis, shuffle board. Heated pool. No grill at the site, but there are community grills throughout the park. We were only here two days, but could easily see staying long term. The only downside I see is there is just one restroom (that I could tell) at the clubhouse and could be quite a hike if your at the back of the park. Other than that, this is a first class resort. - ajmurray
Mar 2016 - $57.00
Excellent park! Friendly Staff. Very clean. Heated pool. Gated. Great Wifi! Only here for one night. I would suggest it for long term too. Lovely place! - User3274
Jan 2016 - $54.00
We stayed there because it is near the medical center area. The campground provides a free shuttle to different hospitals. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The pool and spa looked great, but it was too cold while we were there. Very nice workout room. There is even a place to wash your dog! The grounds are immaculate!
Only negative thing was the traffic noise at night. It seemed to be filled, yet it didn't feel like it.
We will be staying there again. - brsportsman
Nov 2014 - $29.00
Called ahead for reservation. Gave a cc #. They said they would save a pull-through site. They didn't. Rude park host yelled at my husband for stopping in the road in front of the poorly marked office. No signage visible for the office. No maintenance people to clean lots after the pigs leave. All they had was 2 sites that had wood pallets on them that previous people left. Had to move the pallet to get in. Got in and 30 amp was shorted out and outlet was broken. Used a 50 to 30 adapter. Never gave us a bathroom code number. Never stay here. - osofine454
Aug 2014 - $27.00
We were over-nighting while heading north on US 59. This park is about 5 miles off that road but worth the drive. No, it's not fancy, nor is it what I'd call a "resort". But it was quiet, the sites were level, the WiFi worked fine for us, and it was an easy in, easy out park. We paid $27.50 with our Escapees discount. We would definitely stay here again. - Pamela R.
Mar 2013 - $25.00
Lots of contract workers staying here. Sites are wide with rock and grass. It is not a resort for sure, but good place to stay for a few days. - Bob Woodall
Jan 2005 - $36.00
This is a mobile home park that will rent spaces to R.V. campers. The park is fairly dated, but kept clean and the staff is excellent. Located beside Hobby Airport, its a short drive to downtown Houston and all its attractions. Will visit again. - txtransplants
Oct 2014 - $23.00
This park has mostly full time residents, many eyesore units, and not a very sociable park. Rules are not followed by the residents, dogs are not picked up after, drivers race through on the dirt/gravel roads, and trains run loudly by all through the night. The only plus is it is close to major shopping and Brazos Bend SP. We will not return. - rvrrat520
Oct 2014 - $20.00
The sites are very close together. Wifi is iffy at best. There are a lot of full time residents so lots of "stuff" around campers. No picnic tables at sites. Lots of older, run-down campers. Ok for an overnight. - Susan C.
Feb 2014 - $18.00
Potholes, dirt, and trashy permanent trailers. Old unkempt park. Price reflects weekly rate. We left before the week ended. We will not return. - 1yearusa
