All gravel and dirt roads and pads. Flat with some trees and a little grass. Large RV park behind nice motel, no pool or playground. The pull thru sites are long and wide with FHU. No traffic noise. 4 bars Verizon cell signal and 3G mobile hot spot, good satellite signal, no local channels, no cable TV. No wi-fi at sites, only in rec room. Office staff friendly and helpful. Adjoining café, store and gas station clean and well stocked. After seeing other RV parks in the area, would stay here again. 5 miles from Terlinqua and 5 miles from Big Bend NP. We camped at Big Bend Resort & Adventures RV Park & Campground (Big Bend Motor Inn) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Hints: Don't take the "River Road" inside the park. 50 miles of ugly rough dirt road - 5 hour trip and no river. Drive from Presidio TX to Terlingua on paved river road, very scenic. Café at RV park good. Try the Chili Pepper café 1/2 mile away for Mexican food and cold beer.

The word "resort" does not belong in this campground's name. Our campsite was in an area that would have seen much water if it had rained. It was dried, caked mud and dust with no grass, a broken square of stones (patio?), and a scrawny tree struggling to hold on. The wifi was terrible. The laundry had 12 washers and 20 dryers but many machines were out of order. We ate in the cafe every night. The food was good. We camped at Big Bend Resort & Adventures RV Park & Campground (Big Bend Motor Inn) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Big Bend National Park needs 3 days to see it all. Cross the Boquillas border for an interesting adventure. Go to La Kiva and the Terlingua Ghost town to see a ghost town that's not a ghost town.

The park is very convenient to Big Bend National Park. The local populace and establishments exists because of the park and prices reflect that fact. The park is laid out nicely making it easy in and out with trailer. The water pressure is a little on the low side but adequate. Wifi exists but weak. There is a lounge room to use if you need a strong signal. There are showers but are coin operated. I pull a 32 foot trailer. We camped at Big Bend Resort & Adventures RV Park & Campground (Big Bend Motor Inn) in a Travel Trailer.

weekly rate. Wifi okay for a campground. Trees and some grass landscaping, dusty roads when the wind blows. Beautiful mountains and desert scenery surrounding you. It is a long way from anywhere so bring what you need, surrounding stores and resturants expensive. Off road motorcycles for rent from GSM Motorent. Lots of great off roading in the park (Big Bend) and other areas. We camped at Big Bend Resort & Adventures RV Park & Campground (Big Bend Motor Inn) in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here in March 2016. I made a reservation online after being unable to get one in Big Bend. The initial site assigned to us online by Forever Resorts turned out to be a back-in with a dirt road in front and on the side near a bunch of popups. I went back to the office and asked for a different site and was assigned one without a single problem. The full hook-ups all worked fine, it was easy in and out and quiet despite being a busy place with a motel, RV sites, and tent sites. Other interaction with different office personnel were also pleasant. One should keep in mind that Terlingua is a desert community so if you are expecting a lot of grass and a lot of trees with shade, you won't find it. The majority of the pull-thru sites do have a tree. Showers are pay but we have our own so that was no issue for us. It is an easy drive into Big Bend and, if you have a medium or larger size RV, probably a better choice. I would definitely park there again. The office gave us the Good Sam discount when we checked out. We camped at Big Bend Resort & Adventures RV Park & Campground (Big Bend Motor Inn) in a Fifth Wheel.

This RV park is in the middle of the desert in Texas. It is sand. There is a lot of wind and the roads on the property are not paved. It is a large gravel area but all of the RV parks are about the same. It is very Big Bend Nat'l Park where it is difficult to find any RV spots. The property also has a motel in the front and they have a very nice game room where it is possible to bring one's computer and get some internet time. The phone service is almost non-existent for T-Mobile and Verizon - when here you are pretty much "off the grid". But, the area is amazing, more of that later. This is as good a park as we saw and we would stay again. The sites are level and it varies as to how close together they are located. Not laid out in a real organized way throughout the park but it does provide some mighty nice sunsets and sunrises to view. We camped at Big Bend Resort & Adventures RV Park & Campground (Big Bend Motor Inn) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

When in this are you are surrounded by amazing scenery, wonderful opportunities for a variety of outside activities. It is beautiful. It is pretty busy and worth the long drive. We traveled in the National park and in nearby towns.

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Site was long enough for our 40'er, but had to park our tow car in front of the site. Park is plenty level and all sand. Unfortunately the pull through sites in the main section all face south which means the sun beats down on the awning side of your rig all day and the sometimes strong west winds also come at the awning side. How easy it would have been to build the place so the sites faced north. Utilities worked well and are in good position for connections. WIFI is sometimes weak and sometimes gone. No cable TV and no air TV, so bring your satellite dish. We camped at Big Bend Resort & Adventures RV Park & Campground (Big Bend Motor Inn) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Have dinner at the Starlight Theater in Terlingua and at the Chisos Basin Lodge at sunset. Maybe we just got lucky, but this was the second week of February and the weather was fantastic with highs in the 60s an 70s and lows in the 40s and high 30s. Great time to visit Big Bend National Park - great weather and small crowds.

This place is probably your best option if you can't (or don't want) to get into one of the campgrounds at Big Bend National Park. It's a pretty typical RV park with the sites all in rows. They are fairly close together but not as bad as a lot of places. There are some back-in spots, but most seemed to be for the long-term residents. Most, if not all, of the sites for the travelers were pull-thrus and appeared to be long enough to accommodate big rigs with no problems. All the RV sites are FHU and the utilities worked fine although we didn't use the water hookup a lot because it was below freezing most nights. Didn't use the restroom or showers, but they looked clean, modern & bright. The laundry is large and spacious with lots of washers & dryers but they are kind of spendy ($1.75 for medium sized washers and $2.00 for dryers and not everything came out dry). The lighting is poor and there are no vending machines or bill changer so come prepared with laundry products and quarters. The biggest drawback is that the whole place is just dirt/sand with a little bit of gravel. It snowed the night we arrived, and when it started melting the following day it was a muddy, sticky mess. The best part of the place, though, is the café next door. They have good food, affordable prices, and fast service. The convenience store there is just that though with pretty much no "real" food available and a slim choice on a lot of things. I suggest you do your shopping before you arrive and come prepared. The wi-fi only worked sporadically and was very slow when it did. I had five bars of "extended 3G" service on Verizon though and it worked ok for data. If we get back this way I would definitely try to get into one of the park campgrounds, but failing that we'd stay here again, We camped at Big Bend Resort & Adventures RV Park & Campground (Big Bend Motor Inn) in a Truck Camper.

Good Sam discount rate for 3-night stay for a FHU, 50 amp, level dirt site. Moved from the first assigned site because we could not level the motorhome in the soft sandy soil. Verizon cell and MiFi reception limited to 3G and could not receive text messages. Park WiFi was only available at the store and restaurant. Satellite reception was good. This is a very adequate park considering the remote location, the low nightly rate, and the proximity to Big Bend National Park. We camped at Big Bend Resort & Adventures RV Park & Campground (Big Bend Motor Inn) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Starlight Theater (restaurant) is an interesting place for dinner and live entertainment. We enjoyed the Street Tacos and Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie ala mode.

This is an old park behind a motel near Terlingua. Many electrical pedestals are inoperable. We had to move twice to find one that worked. There was a whole line of 30 amp sites that had no service. Dirt park, few immature trees. We camped at Big Bend Resort & Adventures RV Park & Campground (Big Bend Motor Inn) in a Motorhome.

Not much to add to previous reviews except that this campground is the same as Big Bend Resort and Adventures RV Park and Campground. There is no cell phone coverage and no cable. Store next to campground for breakfast. We camped at Big Bend Resort & Adventures RV Park & Campground (Big Bend Motor Inn) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Store next to campground has a restaurant for breakfast. There aare cable hookups at site but they are enclosed so not available for campsite. Those who book the motel rooms have cable. Wi-Fi is available and adequate. No password required. Electrical boxes have exterior lighting. We would stay here again.

Gravel parking lot with pull through's. Has new electrical and good power. There are cable hookups but the box is sealed and not for use for RV's/ Fair Wi-Fi at site but the Wi-Fi was off line for most of day three. Several of us went to the office to ask about reception but they said they could do nothing and refused to reset router. Motel rooms also available. Site was fairly level. Had an issue with billing as they charged my card for one night upon booking which is normal. When I checked my card site for pending transactions they charged me for one night too many. When I questioned that they said they would credit me upon checking out. Never had that happen before.

Good location for visiting the west side of Big Bend and we stayed at their sister campground on the east side.

This campground is the same place as Big Bend Motor Inn is actually in Study Butte not Terlingua. Park is nearly empty. Although this is a large park site are tight but pull through's allow easy entry. Entry into the motel registration from the East is very bumping because of ruts created by rainfall run off.

We camped here in a fifth wheel and would stay again. We camped at Big Bend Resort & Adventures RV Park & Campground (Big Bend Motor Inn) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Cafe next to motel for breakfast buffet.

Great proximity to Big Bend, restaurants, and the town. CG is more like a big dirt parking lot, but it is dry and hot so didn't expect to much greenery. Sites were level and amenities worked well. We camped at Big Bend Resort & Adventures RV Park & Campground (Big Bend Motor Inn) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

So much to do in the State and National Park, but make time to go into down on a Friday or Saturday night.

RV park operated by the motel out in front. Small souvenir store as part of lobby, as well as TV room; cafe in adjacent building; laundry in another building. Nothing special, but fit for purpose of visiting the west side of Big Bend. Spacious FHU pull-thru spots were fine. Pay showers so we didn't use. We would stay here again.
