We really like this park. We stay here a couple of times a year when visiting friends in the area and would highly recommend it. They are constantly making improvements and renovations and now have two separate areas for permanent or semi-permanent residents. The transient sites are long, level gravel with concrete patios for the picnic tables. The areas between the sites are nicely landscaped with grass and shrubs. The staff is friendly and helpful and gives visitors chocolate chip cookies on check-in (my husband's favorite part). The dog park is large and well kept. The utilities are convenient and everything worked well. WiFi was fast and easy to access and there were 34 channels on the cable TV. The gate is closed at 9:00 pm but you can be given a code to open it if returning late. We camped at Bluebonnet Ridge RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Just a few minutes from Buc-ees. If they don't have it, you don't need it. Very interesting place to stop for fuel and everything else.

Very nice park. We only spent an overnight but certainly would have been fine for several nights. A little noisy due to proximity to Interstate but it was warm and, with the AC on and windows closed, we did not hear it. Good Verizon and ATT. We also had a clear view of our Dish Satellites. Some sites will be good - some might not. The rv park options along I20 seem to be limited and this was a pleasant find to add to our list of decent options. Asphalt site was crumbling a bit but not a problem. Utilities were well placed. We were able to easily fit the Coach + Toad (65' total) with no problem and hook up to utilities. We camped at Bluebonnet Ridge RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Take exit 506 off I-20 and go north about 1.5 miles My GPS (Garmin) wanted to send me east and come back on a farm road. That route would add 15-20 min to your trip. I think it's because the road is marked as 56K lbs Max and the Garmin is using an old trucker platform for routing.

We stayed in the newer long-term area for 1 month while we were taking care of some business in the area. Our area was nice, though not quite as nice as the somewhat permanent area across the drive. We have stayed in the short-term before and it is nice. When I notified the staff that the wi-fi wasn't good, they immediately came out and put a big wi-fi repeater right near my rig, giving excellent wi-fi. The place is a little far out for Dallas, but we like it. We camped at Bluebonnet Ridge RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

I picked this park based on the favorable reviews and the pictures on their home page web site. Those reviewers must have stayed in a much different part of the park. Based on my visit I must give it a less than glowing review. The site I had was full of deep ruts. It appeared that it was asphalt at one time but the asphalt had long since broken up and there was an attempt to fix the site with gravel. During the time that I was there it rained, the ruts and surrounding area filled with water making it impossible to walk outside without stepping in a pool of water. The driveway in the entire older area was nothing but potholes filled with water. It appears the owners have focused their time and money on the newer, long-term "Retreat" area and have let the area for overnight guest decline. We camped at Bluebonnet Ridge RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very nice park and well maintained. Has park models in first part of park. Easy in and out. Relatively level. Street is paved and the site is gravel. Site has a picnic table. We were in a pull through, it has 50/30/20amp for the FHU that is plenty long and we did not have to unhook. There is plenty of room between sites. There is a very nice club house with pool table, kitchen, game tables and small store, laundry room. There's a small swing set area, good dog park, tennis court and they sale propane. Only had 2 bars of AT&T service, wifi & cable is good. Bathroom/shower is a private suite and decent size with hot water and good hooks. Exit 506 and follow FM429 about a mile, the park is on the left. They give military and good sam discount. We camped at Bluebonnet Ridge RV Park in a Motorhome.

We really liked this park and will definitely stay here again when visiting friends in the area. It had paved roads and very long, level gravel sites. All utilities, including cable and wi-fi worked very well. There was some noise from I-20 but it wasn't bad. The dog park was nice and everyone seemed to pick up after their pets. We liked the trash pick-up every morning and they also had a place to recycle aluminum cans. The laundry was small but clean and everything was in working order. The rec hall had a pool table that we took advantage of while using the laundry. There is a fitness room but we did not check it out so can't give any information on it. Staff was helpful and went out of their way to accommodate our need for an extra night. We camped at Bluebonnet Ridge RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park was really good. Very long sites (pull throughs comprise most of the park) although sites are rather narrow. There are two sides to the park. When you drive into the long driveway, you'll see the long term part on your right. This is a much nicer area, many sites are owned, all sites paved, etc. We were told there's a 6 month minimum stay to stay there. The other part isn't as nice but fully functional. Sites are gravel and the roads are a little more beat up. Nice dog park, really good wifi. Package delivery was convenient. It is about 30 minutes from Dallas - we wanted something that was off of 20 near Dallas and this suited us fine. We camped at Bluebonnet Ridge RV Park in a Motorhome.

A nice campground except for being next to I-20. It seemed to be very much louder than the last visit. An asphalt entry road (repaved since the construction of last year, so it's a lot less bumpy). Two lane gravel access roads (trees convert some of these to a single lane for taller rigs). Mix of pullthrus and backins surrounded by grass with trees at most sites providing shade opportunities while not generally presenting problems with satellite access. While a generally well maintained campground, they have made no improvement in dealing with the ruts. It can get very soggy with the rains resulting in ruts both on the gravel of the site and in the adjacent grass due to rigs running over the edges of the sites. They need to bring in gravel for the sites to deal with the ruts and cleanup the ruts adjacent to the sites. The ruts can make it somewhat challenging in places to be walking around the rig. The gravel of the sites is loose enough that we settled a lot even using large jack pads. The interior access roads are getting a fair number of potholes. Power ok, water 60psi, sewer ok, satellite access ok. Verizon was 2-3 bars with adequate to good speed. Tmobile was 4 bars with ok speed. Campground wifi had ok signal with variable speed - sometimes usable, sometimes not, occasionally not handing out an IP address. Soda can recycle on site. No good road bike riding adjacent to campground. Long wheelbase rigs do not come south on 429 to the campground (potential for hanging up on the railroad crossing at 80 and 429). We're presently rethinking our options for the metroplex and may come back. We camped at Bluebonnet Ridge RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a nice, well-maintained, spacious RV park. It is a little overpriced, but they don't have much competition in the area. It is near the freeway, but not overly noisy. We will stay there again when we are in the area. I am not certain of the site number or the price we paid. There is a really pretty little lake, and a few residents said that they were catching fish in it. We camped at Bluebonnet Ridge RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

We stayed for 2 weeks, so the nightly rate reflects the weekly discount. The people that run the place are very friendly and helpful. We had no problems locating the hook ups and no problems getting connected. The cable TV and out satellite TV worked well. We didn't use the antenna. AT&T cell service was good, even though most of the time it was just one bar. Wi-Fi, most of the time, worked well. There was no problem with the water pressure. As far as I could tell, all the sites were gravel, with a paved interior road. We had a pull-thru, which we found was large enough for our motor home, our toad, and another vehicle, if needed. Each site had a small patio and a picnic table. This is a good place to stay when exploring Dallas and surrounding area. We camped at Bluebonnet Ridge RV Park in a Motorhome.

This was a nice park. It has a pool and store; everything looked well kept and clean. There is a fishing pond. A picnic table at our site.
