The campground is in a beautiful stand of tall pine trees on the shore of Wright Patman reservoir. There is water and electric but no sewer. There is a dump. There are flush toilets and showers. Most of the pull through sites were damaged in a flood earlier this year. Most of the back-in sites are in excellent condition with level asphalt driveways, gravel pads for tents and concrete picnic tables. The sites are spread out a bit, but there is no understory, so little visual privacy. The lady at the gate said that the pull through should repaired in time for Memorial Day, two weeks from now. The campground was only about a quarter full on a weekday in mid-May. I would definitely stay here again, if in the area. We camped at Piney Point COE in a Travel Trailer.

This park has lost about half of its spaces to erosion which is sad as it's a very nice park. I would highly recommend it for overnight or longer stays. The city of Texarkana, however, was a huge disappointment. Many buildings are empty and the town looks abandoned. There is a thriving new mall and restaurant area on the outskirts but I expected such an old town to have a historical area. We camped at Piney Point COE in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

The rate reflects a Federal Senior Pass discount of 50%. When we stayed here about half of the sites were flooded. Most of the other COE campgrounds on the lake were closed because of flooding. Even so, the campground was not full during the week. Most of the sites have some shade trees. We were able to get satellite through a hole in the trees at our site. We had very good Verizon data and voice. There is a gate attendant and the gate is locked during the night to give some security. However, during the day, there are a lot of lookers driving past. The lake is visible from most sites. Overall, the campground could be very nice, but it has a tired, sort of dirty look. It could use some help. There is a pump of some type near the campground which runs continually. If you are around site 16, you will be able to hear this pump very well, which we would find very annoying. The park, overall, was quiet during the week. Unfortunately, some of the longer term folks have put up lights that are very bright, so it is not dark at night. We would probably try to stay at one of the other COE campgrounds if in the area again. We camped at Piney Point COE in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The park was very clean. The gate attendant was friendly.

The weather was cool, but I fished from shore for a couple hours.

I enjoyed my stay though I had business in town.

I had a beautiful lake front lot. It was quiet and peaceful.

I will camp here again if business calls in this neck of the woods. We camped at Piney Point COE in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a fair corps park. It has good sites with full hookups if needed. While it is nice to have trees totally around you - it is not good for satellite reception. So if you need to watch TV you might want to select a site, if you can find one, without trees. The bathrooms were grungy and typical campground type of surroundings. Fortunately it had rained so we didn't have to smell any campfires. We camped at Piney Point COE in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful park with spacious, mostly shaded sites. Of course shaded sites mean spotty satellite reception. Verizon wireless card works fine. 48 sites but one small bathhouse with two showers each side. No place to hold your soap or shampoo, doors are warped and do not provide privacy. I would give the park a 10 if not for the washrooms and lack of sewer hookup. We camped at Piney Point COE in a Motorhome.

What a great park. We had some issues with the electrical box in site 31 so we were able to move to site 1 which was perfect. The site had a lot of shade although we could not see the lake but we enjoyed our privacy. The site were quite big. This is a beautiful park and we will be back. We camped at Piney Point COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice COE campground in on Lake Wright Patman. There are 3 COE parks in the area which are all within several miles of each other. Nice employees and nice park. We camped at Piney Point COE in a Fifth Wheel.
