After being held up in traffic due to nightmarish construction around Little Rock, we were slated to arrive after their office closed at 6PM. No reservation required, park yourself, said the pleasant voice on the other end of the line.

Well, that kind of casualness makes all our hair stand up, right? I know what you picture too, when you hear those words: a grasscrete patch between two permanent residents on a windblown stretch of trash-strewn grass overlooking an Interstate. Our apprehension was compounded by our size: 45 foot rig pulling a 20 foot enclosed car hauler.

Imagine our surprise, discovering a spacious, luxuriously paved park with landscaping on par with the White House lawn. I'm simply dazzled by this gorgeous park. After a 3,000 mile trip packed painful arrival surprises, this crown jewel of Texarkana is one of the best we've ever visited.

The entry to the park is after the RV dealership of the same name, heading south. They've installed a nice wide driveway, so there is no harm no foul to coasting in on the shoulder for the last 200 yards. We camped at Shady Pines RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stay at this park twice a year for overnighters, and this year we decided to spend three nights since we enjoy it so much. Beautiful manicured landscaping in a lovely country setting with a small lake and lots of trees surrounding the park. No pool and no cable TV, but otherwise a solid 10. We camped at Shady Pines RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice little gem outside Texarkana. One of the best maintained parks I have been to. Wide concrete roads and pads (many long pull thrus) with concrete pad under picnic table. Grass between sites is manicured. Small tree on each site does not interfere with satellite. Very good Wifi. Only reason did not give best rating as they are a ways out in the country west of Texarkana but still 15 minutes from main shopping area. We camped at Shady Pines RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Park is located next to and west on Hwy 67 of RV dealer of same name.

This is an outstanding park right outside Texarkana. We spent Mother's Day weekend here and found the facilities outstanding. Here are just a few things we enjoyed: (1) nicely manicured park, (2) concrete around hookups, (3) most sites pull thru, (4) trash dumpster available anytime, (5) all utilities work. The only negative, and I mean only, is our site (and it appeared most others) had over a 2" slope to the right. We had to use boards on the right in order to level. If you're traveling through the Ark-La-Tex, this is a great stop for a day or two. We camped at Shady Pines RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Texarkana is a major city where you can find anything you might need to stock up (with the exception of a Costco, but there is a Sam's).

The park may be the best manicured park I have ever seen. It is about 10 miles off of I-30 but worth the drive to have a peaceful stay. Large pull-throughs with a table and a beautiful lawn. There is a stocked pond. Would be a great park for a small rally. We camped at Shady Pines RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is an excellent campsite. Clean, neat, tidy, level concrete pads and tarmac road with well maintained grass between sites and picnic table. It is a smaller campsite but the individual sites are very large, we had a pull thru that easily took our 36ft RV and tow truck but even the back-ins are big. There is big pond with water fountain and free fishing. The RV dealership next door is the same owner as the campsite and very handy for any spares required. Excellent WiFi. No cable TV but good reception on antenna. Laundry and restrooms were very good with an excellent book exchange in the laundry. Easy access from 1-30 but no road noise at all. We camped at Shady Pines RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Really a very nice, well-maintained small campground owned by and next to a RV dealership. The sites are paved with trees with nice picnic tables on a nice carpet of grass. There's a fishing pond, no pool or game room, just a real nice, small RV park. I'd stay here again. Every site is equally nice. Those on the periphery are back-in. No fire ring. We camped at Shady Pines RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

It's a little hard to make a reservation and the office is closed 12-3 or something similar.

The only negative was it did not offer any kind of TV cable. And being a big UK fan and they were playing on the night we were staying that was a disappointment, but we got over it. The park is really pretty with a fishing lake with a fountain in it. They own a large RV dealership/Service next door as well which if you needed would be great. The Hostess was great on the phone and in person. Highly recommend. We camped at Shady Pines RV Park in a Motorhome.

This RV park is a fantastic find! Nice and small, so there's not a lot of noise. All of the sites are concrete. Nice-sized side yards on your site. Immaculate! Plenty of space to take dogs for a walk. We've never been in a cleaner RV park. The only "problem" was that it was a bit hard to find -- right before is an RV dealership by the same name, so maneuvering in was a bit of a pain. Once you've been here, though, you find it instantly. This is on our list of definite places to return to. We camped at Shady Pines RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Great little park for a stopover. Everything's paved and level. Sites are adequately spaced and suitable for big rigs. Park Wi-Fi worked well. Both AT&T & Verizon had strong signals. We camped at Shady Pines RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The staff were great on check in. Roads and sites were paved and level. Grass between sites. The roads were wide and the lead ins and exits to the sites were widened to allow access to big rigs. We stayed one night, but would stay for longer if time allows. The campground was owned by the RV dealer next door. The dealer had an extensive inventory of repair parts and inventory. We camped at Shady Pines RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This small park was a real "find". It is small and off the highway, so very quiet. The spaces are long and wide for a larger vehicle. There is grass between the spaces and a picnic table at each site. It is very clean and comfortable. There is no cable, but local channels are available and we had a good satellite view. We stayed for 2 days and would have loved to stay longer had it not been so beastly hot.....not the fault of the park at all. There is a fishing without a license pond on the property. We would stay here again. We camped at Shady Pines RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Great find! Concrete drive and pads. Small trees and high-end picnic tables on each site. Highly manicured lawn. Utilities in perfect condition. Well off I-30 by a few miles so no highway noise, but not too far. Wonderful community building for RV club gatherings. Management was friendly and welcoming. Wifi was great and 4G Verizon coverage. A definite return for sure for a longer stay in east TX. We camped at Shady Pines RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice, neat little RV park about 10 miles west of the town of Texarkana. The sites all have nice concrete pads, patios, and picnic tables. It is very manicured and very neat. The Wi-Fi worked well, and all it needed to receive a 10 was cable. It is a great stop for the night. There were a few permanent residents, but they seemed to keep the personal possessions one might see placed outside at a minimum. I would stay here again. We camped at Shady Pines RV Park in a Motorhome.

What a delightful surprise. This small campground is great for an overnight stay. The sites are level and easy to pull into, the WiFi was strong, the hookups just fine. The restrooms were spotless and had ceramic tile floor, walls, and ceiling. This would be a good place for small rallies, since they have a covered picnic/grill area, as well as a room indoors for meetings. We would stay here again if we were passing through, but it wouldn't be a destination for us--too small, nothing to do. We camped at Shady Pines RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
