It has concrete sites and is an older park so it can be tight for a big rig pulling a car. But it is an OK to good overnighter. The long term residents seem to keep their rigs neat and their cars out of the roads. I would stay again if in the area. We camped at #1 RV Park of Tyler in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $31.00

We came into Tyler, Texas, for one night with our Class A. Due to bad weather in the area we arrived late and indicated we wanted to leave late the next day. The manager was quite generous and only charged us for one night though we were clearly exceeding the checkout times for the next day. We went in with a specific agenda, try Stanley's BBQ and find a used record shop that we had heard about. We did both. If you like Texas BBQ, don't miss Stanley's. Selfishly, the vinyl record shop will have to remain my little secret. The park was perfect for this as in we needed a short stop. It is really a large parking lot. The benefits of this is that it is very level. The con is that you have NO grass between each site. This is not a place to extend your awning and sit outside. There are no picnic tables, grills, firering, etc. There are full hookups and a small laundry and restroom area. We didn't use either, so I can't comment. They do have a nice size dog park with grass; however, there are burrs. The location makes this quite a good place to stay as it is right off the highway, easy to navigate a large rig, and in Tyler city limits. The park has numerous pull-thrus with plenty of room for your toad. We were able to hook and unhook at our site. If you aren't looking for frills and really just wanting to stay for a day or two to enjoy Tyler (they do have one of the last remaining drive-in movie theaters, Sky Vue) then this is a good spot for you. If you need a place for a longer stay, I would suggest Tyler State Park, one of the Texas Gems, or go on down the highway a bit, spend a little more, and pamper yourself at Mill Creek RV Resort in Canton, Texas. We camped at #1 RV Park of Tyler in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Stanley's BBQ is quite the hip little spot. Fresh market, a Brookshire's Whole Food spin-off, is really a neat little place to get some unique groceries. Tyler has one of the only remaining drive-in movie theaters, Sky Vue. They show two newly released movies for $6 a person! They also have a Studio Movie Grill that allows you to see a first release movie while having dinner. Larger cities have these, and we were surprised to see one in Tyler, Texas.

The sites were concrete pads and level. Good WiFi, very friendly service at check in. The draw back was that this is an older park and the sites do not have a lot of room between them. Also there are a number of full time residents with most of their units in good shape but there are a couple of residents whose units look terrible. It was good place to stop for a couple of nights as we passed through the area. We camped at #1 RV Park of Tyler in a Fifth Wheel.

The park is easy to find on State highway 31, west of Tyler. Management and staff were very helpful with information on local area businesses. Wi-Fi is available, but we didn't use it. Cable TV is available and channel selection was extensive. The bathrooms and showers are clean, but we didn't use them. All of the sites had a concrete pad for parking the RV, but the spaces are very close together. Interior roads are paved and all sites are easily accessible to big rigs. We have a 31' Class C. Highway noise was minimal. We only overnighted, but would stay here again if we're in the area. We camped at #1 RV Park of Tyler in a Motorhome.

The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. The best thing about the sites are the concrete pads. But they are not wide and we could not put out our awning to block that Texas sun on a very hot day. We camped at #1 RV Park of Tyler in a Motorhome.

The lots are close together. There is not a whole lot of grass In each lot. The price was excellent for what was offered. There are on site bathrooms and laundry. We camped at #1 RV Park of Tyler in a Fifth Wheel.

The sites are extremely narrow; our awning could not be extended without touching the neighbor's slide. There are two large holes in the cement driveway that cause bumps and possible tire damage at the front and at the office speed bump. There are only two washing machines for the entire park. Only a very few sites have grass and those are very near the highway noise. The other sites are all gravel. There are no tables nor any room to sit in deck chairs. Mostly permanents occupy the back. It is a quiet park. We would not stay here again. We camped at #1 RV Park of Tyler in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects Good Sam rate + 2 extra adults. Good over night stop. Clean, well maintained, no frills park. Level concrete pads. Hosts were very, very friendly and helpful, and led us to our site. Would stay there again. We camped at #1 RV Park of Tyler in a Motorhome.

Good park for a few days, but not for longer stays. Sites are very close together and noise from Highway 31 can be loud at times. Place is clean and staff friendly. We camped at #1 RV Park of Tyler in a Motorhome.

Very nice park. We were in Tyler to see the rose gardens and attend the East Texas State Fair. The park was very close to both and very convenient to everything in Tyler. The park has long pull thru concrete pads which was great because it rained for 2 days and we didn't have to deal with mud and dirt getting into our rig. The office has a movie library that has about 350 movies that guest can check out at no charge. The facilities were very clean and the owners were great. We stayed for 4 days and will return. We camped at #1 RV Park of Tyler in a Fifth Wheel.

The concrete roadway to our site was crumbling; the restroom was in need of attention with a stopped up toilet and no paper products. The Wi-Fi signal was slow and intermittent at best. The next day the water to the park was turned off without warning. When confronted we were told by the owner: "there's a break .. we'll have it fixed in a while." No apologies for the inconvenience or lack of notice. No shade and temperatures were near 100 degrees F. With the right management and upkeep this could be a nice place. We camped at #1 RV Park of Tyler in a Motorhome.

Stayed here for 4 months. Concrete pads, but no picnic tables. Site # 50 is a nice level site and wide enough for a 5th wheel or motorhome. We were not bothered by the owners but they were always there when they were needed. They were very helpful when asked and they keep the park in tiptop shape. Very neat and clean. Some sites are very narrow and would not allow awnings to be fully extended. Sites around the concrete pads are gravel. They have storage on site also that is security protected. Will stay here again and recommend this park to others. We camped at #1 RV Park of Tyler in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for a week visiting family in the area. We have stayed here before and liked the park but it has gone downhill since our last stay. The site was very narrow making it difficult to open our awning. There is a huge amount of junk around some of the long term sites and several junky FEMA trailers are there. I don't think we will stay here again. We camped at #1 RV Park of Tyler in a Fifth Wheel.
