A very good campground for families. Somewhat rustic campground (in very good shape) in a wooded area. Roads are asphalt and in fine condition. Sites are gravel. Electric/water/sewer hookups are all fine. No cable TV. We received several antenna channels alright. Wi-Fi didn't seem too good. The staff at this park is by far the best part. They work very hard. Saturdays are absolutely amazing with all that they have planned for kids. Parents, your kids will have a good time at this park! We camped at Jellystone Park at Whispering Pines (formerly Whispering Pines RV Reso in a Travel Trailer.

We had a reservation at another park in the area, but when we drove by it realized we did NOT want to stay there, so we drove over to Jellystone. We were late arrivals with no reservation and the owner had just locked up for the night when we pulled up. She opened the gate for us, told us just to go ahead and set up and stop by in the morning to pay. Such a kind lady as a major storm was brewing! We were just there for the night, parked in one of the pull through spaces. Hookups were great and we were set up and safely inside before the storm hit. Next morning walked around and this is a lovely park. Super clean, lots of fun stuff for families to do. Highly recommend! We camped at Jellystone Park at Whispering Pines (formerly Whispering Pines RV Reso in a Travel Trailer.

We spent two nights here in route from Tennessee to San Antonio. It's off the main roads, but our GPS took us right to the campground. The gated entrances / exits are very tight!!! You need a passcard for the gates to work and you'll be charged $25 if not returned. When we left at 9AM, the office was still closed. They have to have a better process for returning the cards. The adult pool/spa is a very nice touch for a Jellystone Park. The site we stayed in had lights and power to the cabana over the picnic table. What a great idea! There had been a lot of rain/flooding in the area, but we had no problems with bugs or mosquitoes. There is a lot of construction going on in the campground and the roads to the sites are in need of repair and the trees trimmed back at the exits. A lot of work had been done and it should become a favorite stop for families with children especially. We had no children with us but we stayed there because of Jellystone campground reputations, which this campground met or exceeded. We camped at Jellystone Park at Whispering Pines (formerly Whispering Pines RV Reso in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a nice state campground a few miles away with a big lake. There is also a tiger refuge that is open to the public a few miles away. Both would be enjoyed by children. There's also an advertized indoor waterpark nearby. There's also boat access nearby for the local big river.

Wow. A big place. A little tight for 45 ft to get through with trailer but we did just fine. The host had a service guy guide us in and watch our blind side. Nice pools. Nice pools. Adults and kids. Plenty of stuff for kids. A nice BBQ open area with large pit for anyone to use. We will visit here again on our way home to New Orleans. We camped at Jellystone Park at Whispering Pines (formerly Whispering Pines RV Reso in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

They have a nice morning cafe with good breakfast right on site. Hidden in the deep woods. Yogi's Place is so cool.

Our stay with this park has been fantastic. They have it all, lots of amenities and an extremely clean park. The owners have taken this park and totally renovated. You can see the work being done and it is really fantastic. The new sites they are building will be great. Everyone should take a drive and tour the park; its not the old whispering pines. You will love it. We camped at Jellystone Park at Whispering Pines (formerly Whispering Pines RV Reso in a Fifth Wheel.

We used to come here for several years. Since it became a Jellystone park, it has gone downhill. First, the positives. The staff are friendly, they deliver firewood, and the restrooms are very clean. The bad: unless you have 3 year old kids, it is BORING. The Yogi Hey ride has no Yogi. Its a dude pulling a trailer with a tractor. The tie dye shirts are $20 a pop. The arcade is gone. So is the playground, replaced by a pre-school piece of plastic. There used to be spring break activities like dancing. No more. The hot tub is anything but hot and the "free Wi-Fi" doesn't work anywhere. The miniature golf course is falling apart with torn carpet and broken wood. We remember this campground being packed during spring break, but it is now mostly empty. This campground has become an overpriced piece of garbage and we won't be back. We camped at Jellystone Park at Whispering Pines (formerly Whispering Pines RV Reso in a Motorhome.

We stayed a night off-season. Staff members were extremely friendly and helpful when we had some technical issues with our trailer. The on-site cafe had excellent food (some of the best gorditas we've had anywhere and an incredible dessert called chocoflan) and the people who ran it were also very kind and helpful. This park is in the process of converting to a Jellystone Park franchise and promises to be a family oriented destination when the conversion is complete. Despite the construction when we visited, we were delighted with the friendliness of everyone we encountered during our stay. I would definitely stay at Whispering Pines again. We loved the park because it was very clean and kid friendly. My children who vary from 3 to 11 had a blast. There is something for all ages and lots of things for us to do together. We had a great time and we will go back. We camped at Jellystone Park at Whispering Pines (formerly Whispering Pines RV Reso in a Travel Trailer.

Nice park nestled into the pines North of Tyler and East of Lindale. A bit out of the way but the surrounding area is lovely to drive through. This would have gotten an 8 except that the sites aren't level, at least where we were placed. Excellent staff, always friendly and helpful. Laundry room needs some serious updating, 2 pools, were nice but the furniture around them needs updating. This rate reflects Passport America Sun to Thur paying full on Fri & Sat. Listen close when communicating with park personnel. What you ask for and what you pay for will probably be different. To stay here you must love posted "rules". They are everywhere! The back-in site we were assigned was a muddy gravel and not level. I had to dig the sewer connection out of the dirt and needed help to pry the cap off. This is a beautiful resort. Lots of trees and a pond and so many facilities. We really enjoyed staying here. We were going to visit our family n AZ and stopped for a day. The whole setting is very enjoyable. The staff running the resort are very friendly, especially Christina. Your cell phones may not work here, but WiFi was good. Will stay again. Rate based on weekly rate. Of which we only used 4 nights. Loud vehicles racing through the park late night/early morning (11:30pm until 1:30am). Office alarm going off in the middle of the night (4am). If you have a golf cart, you'll love this place and it's golf cart races that seem to go on all day. On the good side: it's almost empty, so you can choose your site. It has a mini golf course and a jump pillow for the kids. Will not stay here again. Very recent change in ownership. New owner hasn't got a clue! Reservation lost. Raised the rate agreed upon. 6-7 year old kids "driving" golf carts everywhere! Not at all impressed - will not stay here again. We camped at Jellystone Park at Whispering Pines (formerly Whispering Pines RV Reso in a Motorhome.

Office staff were very friendly and helpful: as this was our first time with the RV we even enlisted some assistance in backing in to the spot! Camp store is well stocked with basics and the park has separate sparkling clean adult and kids pools for relaxation. Would recommend to anyone and will stay here again.
