Small park, basic dirt/gravel sites. We were just here for an overnight, and chose it because of the Passport America price ($14)

Sites are close together, and the noise of late check-ins was very loud. We had the site closest to the entrance, which meant constant road noise all night. There is also train noise, but that is to be expected at most rural RV parks. Office staff was very kind and actually stayed open a half hour longer to check us in (we were coming east from AZ and forgot to account for the time change.) Wi-Fi is free and REALLY good. The site was just long enough for our 34' rig and we don't have a toad. It looks like people that have tow vehicles have a harder time here. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Motorhome.

Park was clean though dusty, as you would expect in West Texas. Owner was friendly and helpful. Our Class A with trailer was 64 feet long and she was able to accommodate. One night stop over.. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Motorhome.

From the looks of things, most of the residents are semi-permanent, some temporary workers probably. The site was fine, but the neighbors were close, although quiet. It felt more like a trailer park than an RV place. The women's bathroom was out of service, and there was an evening crowd hanging out in front of the men's bathroom. The bathroom facilities were OK, clean enough, but very dated. Although the price was reasonable for an overnight stay, I would not stay here again. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Motorhome.

The sites are close together. Seems to be a good number of people living here. Typical west Texas gravel and dusty. Adequate for an overnight. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very basic campground with level dirt and gravel sites. This was just an overnighter for us, so I can't rate the amenities. The cable worked fine for us. The woman at the office is friendly. She and I had a nice long conversation. We had a site with full hook ups in the main campground, but they have an overflow area across the road. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a basic rv park that served our needs well for an overnight stay. Utilities worked well, clear sky for satellite, and good cell signal. Would stop here again. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stopped here overnight on our way to Dallas. It isn't much to look at, but for the price, you can't beat it if you need a short term stop. Check in was easy, hook ups worked, and the restrooms/showers were surprisingly nice. The spaces are a little tight but we have a smaller RV so that was ok. The only downside was that the train that ran nearby is really loud. If you are a light sleeper, you may need some ear plugs. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The campsite is downtown, so we walked to El Capitan Hotel, Clarks Hotel Museum, a thrift shop, and Margie's Bakery - all were easy fun.

Park is a flat parking lot with hookups. Surface is salmon colored gravel. Utilities worked fine and are conveniently at the center of the site. Cable TV worked fine, but we could not get Internet on their WIFI for the entire 2 days we stayed. The Days Inn nearby, though, has an unsecured WIFI and it worked well most of the time. The sites, otherwise, are bare bones - no picnic table, patio, BBQ, fire ring. Train track is nearby and train whistles sound every 15 minutes all night. Ear plugs recommended. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Motorhome.

Perfect overnight spot. Easy in, easy out. Pull-thru, very level, graveled sites. 50 amp worked great. Did not use septic. The manager is very friendly. The grounds were very basic, but very clean. Very little noise from I-10, but the train is close by and quite loud in the middle of the night. We would stay here again as a stopover place. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for one night while traveling across I-10. It's a small, very basic place to overnight. The sites are tight in width but were plenty long for us, and there is considerable noise from the train and highway. We set up on the far south end to get as far from the train as possible. Staff here is very friendly and helpful, and the bathrooms were quite clean. There is an adequate grocery store just down the road, perhaps a mile west. It's very easy off-easy on the highway, so I expect we will stay here again. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Stopped here for an overnight stay. Park is clean and easy to find. WiFi and utilities work fine. Did not use the cable. The only negative with this park is the trains that go by all night. Very noisy. If I came back here I'd bring some good ear plugs. I would stay here again with my good ear plugs. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Motorhome.

$13.50 per night is a 50% discount with Escapees discount.

To avoid staying in El Paso, we stopped in Van Horn overnight. Van Horn was on the mail route between San Antonio and El Paso. Unfortunately there is very little still in operation in this town. Our day rate of $13.50 is half off with Escapees membership. This RV park is small with only 25 sites set up on a red clay ground with wide long sites and full hookups including cable TV. There appears to be 2 full time residents and one or two rigs that pull in just for the night. The staff in the office are very nice. Only difficulty are the trains running close by all night. Needed to keep windows closed and fan on for white noise as well as a Benedryl to sleep. This is a good spot to stop over night out in the middle of West Texas. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
