Friendly check-in lady. Easy pull through on gravel lot. Good WiFi and cable TV. Brand new spotless bathrooms. We would return here. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The campsite is downtown, so we walked to El Capitan Hotel, Clarks Hotel Museum, a thrift shop, and Margie's Bakery - all were easy fun.

Definitely the nicest park in town; park was older but well kept. Small dog park and friendly staff. Internet and cable were a plus. Would stay here again. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The town is on the downhill slope, one full bar in town, opening at 5 PM

Perfect overnight spot. Easy in, easy out. Pull-thru, very level, graveled sites. 50 amp worked great. Did not use septic. The manager is very friendly. The grounds were very basic, but very clean. Very little noise from I-10, but the train is close by and quite loud in the middle of the night. We would stay here again as a stopover place. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Papa's Pantry is a good place for Mexican food (we had dinner).

We stayed here for one night while traveling across I-10. It's a small, very basic place to overnight. The sites are tight in width but were plenty long for us, and there is considerable noise from the train and highway. We set up on the far south end to get as far from the train as possible. Staff here is very friendly and helpful, and the bathrooms were quite clean. There is an adequate grocery store just down the road, perhaps a mile west. It's very easy off-easy on the highway, so I expect we will stay here again. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Stopped here for an overnight stay. Park is clean and easy to find. WiFi and utilities work fine. Did not use the cable. The only negative with this park is the trains that go by all night. Very noisy. If I came back here I'd bring some good ear plugs. I would stay here again with my good ear plugs. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Motorhome.

$13.50 per night is a 50% discount with Escapees discount.

To avoid staying in El Paso, we stopped in Van Horn overnight. Van Horn was on the mail route between San Antonio and El Paso. Unfortunately there is very little still in operation in this town. Our day rate of $13.50 is half off with Escapees membership. This RV park is small with only 25 sites set up on a red clay ground with wide long sites and full hookups including cable TV. There appears to be 2 full time residents and one or two rigs that pull in just for the night. The staff in the office are very nice. Only difficulty are the trains running close by all night. Needed to keep windows closed and fan on for white noise as well as a Benedryl to sleep. This is a good spot to stop over night out in the middle of West Texas. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Enjoy the sunset and sunrises

We almost felt guilty taking the passport rate of 12.50. The owner was very accommodating and waited for us to arrive after 7pm and gave us a nice level pull thru with plenty of room for our 45 ft and tow vehicle. As noted previously it is a bit noisy with the train and the freeway...but you can not beat the value. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This is just a quick stopover and not a destination.

Great overnight spot. Full hookups, including fast wi-fi. Cable reception was not great. Sites are level, and long enough to stay hooked up. Sites and roads are gravel, no vegetation. Beware for pet owners that there are unleashed dogs in the park. Not aggressive, but for folks with 'reactive' dogs, it can still be a problem. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a basic full-hookup park, everything worked well including the Wi-Fi and cable TV. Although a small park, there is plenty of room for large rigs. Gravel lot and, like everything in Van Horn, close to I-10. Wear earplugs or run the AC/heater. Escapees and Passport America pay only $13.50, other discounts available. The staff was very kind and helpful. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Motorhome.

The park is very level, gravel surface, excellent drainage. No potholes, all pull throughs, FHU, easily take longest rigs, trash, bathrooms are all tile. Immaculate showers with an enclosed dressing area at each shower, immaculate park, and best WiFi we've had. Absolutely no deficiencies, whatsoever. Would always stay here. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Can't change the date above (should be 2015) $13.50 was the cash fee for this clean park. Campsites are nice and level. Electric, water, cable TV, wi fi, all updated. No pool, picknick tables or meeting room, But great for a one night stay. Well kept and quiet. Best park in town for the money. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Motorhome.

Easy to get to. Easy in, easy out. Entire campground is dirt and pea gravel but level. Small park, no frills, no shade. All sites are pull thru. Wi-Fi was fair. We arrived around 3 without reservations but entire park was filled by 7pm. Dog area was weeds and had a lot of burrs which is why I give a 9. Would defiantly stay here again for a one nighter. Office is open from 8 to 8:30 am. And 2pm to 6pm. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed here while passing through the area. Level gravel campground geared to one nighters located on the main street in town. Utilities (sewer, elec, water) all good. Wifi excellent. Cable TV very good. Mostly pull thru sites (long enough for our 35 ft 5W with truck on the side. Longer units are put in the back to allow access for other campers. Friendly host that mostly works 2-9pm. Very good value and all services worked fine. Will definitely stay here again. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Dinner at El Capitan hotel was very good.

Great place for one or two night stay for the value. Not as fancy as other camp grounds but plenty of space for pull through and clean. Free internet and electric (30 & 50amp) and TV. Must be a passport member to get the $14 rate otherwise it's $22 per night. No one at office until 2 PM so check yourselves in if early. Will come back again when passing through. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
