Easy to get to. Easy in, easy out. Entire campground is dirt and pea gravel but level. Small park, no frills, no shade. All sites are pull thru. Wi-Fi was fair. We arrived around 3 without reservations but entire park was filled by 7pm. Dog area was weeds and had a lot of burrs which is why I give a 9. Would defiantly stay here again for a one nighter. Office is open from 8 to 8:30 am. And 2pm to 6pm. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed here while passing through the area. Level gravel campground geared to one nighters located on the main street in town. Utilities (sewer, elec, water) all good. Wifi excellent. Cable TV very good. Mostly pull thru sites (long enough for our 35 ft 5W with truck on the side. Longer units are put in the back to allow access for other campers. Friendly host that mostly works 2-9pm. Very good value and all services worked fine. Will definitely stay here again. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Dinner at El Capitan hotel was very good.

Great place for one or two night stay for the value. Not as fancy as other camp grounds but plenty of space for pull through and clean. Free internet and electric (30 & 50amp) and TV. Must be a passport member to get the $14 rate otherwise it's $22 per night. No one at office until 2 PM so check yourselves in if early. Will come back again when passing through. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

If you're traveling west Texas on Hwys 20 and 10 and looking for RV "Resorts" stop looking because there aren't any! Desert Willow is a great place to overnight. Easy access, a short distance off the Interstate, clean, friendly, and very reasonable. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Checking out the El Capitan Hotel is a must. Read good reviews about Van Horn Cattle Co. steak house and was disappointed. It wasn't bad, but nothing special either. Chuey's looked more interesting and we would have eaten there had we stayed another night. The menu and what we saw being served at El Capitan looked wonderful. Relatively expensive but worth it. There's a chef at work in that kitchen. Nice bar!

Great park, The older lady who checks you in could not have been any more gracious. Give it a try. Only downfall is you can hear the train at night, but really did not bother us. Great park, easy on and off I-10. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Easy on and off to I-10. Flat gravel sites, with easy access into and out of park. Close to several restaurants, including Chuy's, a John Madden favorite. Great overnight park and for the price that included cable with full hook ups, you can't beat this park. Fast, friendly and easy check in. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Motorhome.

Charming park, clean and well maintained with excellent WiFi, easy on and off access to I-10, and nearby food and fuel. The elderly lady who manages this park is an absolute delight. We stay there whenever we are in the area. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Chuy's Restaurant is right across the street but we prefer the Van Horn Cattle Company which is about 1/3 mile away. Excellent steaks at good prices with wonderful sides and a great Caesar salad.

Easy checkin. Great WiFi. Showers some of the best I've ever seen and so convenient to pull in and out with my motorhome pulling a toad. Super value with PA discount. Only downside are the trains on one side and the interstate on the other, but I'll put up with them for the price and convenience. I'd definitely stay here again if in the area. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

I looked in El Capitan Hotel and it looked interesting, but didn't eat there. Museum also looked interesting as well as a Chuy's restaurant. Grocery store a couple of miles down the road. LOTS of motels charging only $29.95, if you need a break from your RV.

Couldn't be better in terms of a decent off/on stop over from the highway. Full hookups for $13.50??? That's with Passport or Escapees discount. Gravel, level, convenient, inexpensive. Small, seemingly safe and secure park that fits the bill perfectly for a stop over. Food, fuel nearby. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Motorhome.

As other reviewers have noted, this is a gravel parking lot but is very convenient, well managed and is a great value with either Escapee or Passport America discounts. Perfect for overnight. Dog owners be aware that sand burrs and 'goat heads' abound, even in their fenced in pet area. Lots of traffic noise. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There appeared to be fast food facilities right across the street.

Price reflects Passport America rate. It is a no frills park but well worth the price for full hook ups, cable, and WiFi that actually works. They also have an enclosed area for dogs which is a nice feature so the pets can get some exercise. Very friendly staff! Clean park. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate is cash payment, with a Passport America discount; credit card rate is $14. You just pick a spot until office is open. Laundry is $1.50 and is very clean. I checked out the showers/restrooms and they were very clean as well. The Wi-Fi here is fantastic. There is cable as well. This is a small park but very comfortable for the 2 nights we spent here. We would definitely stay here again. I also looked at the other parks in the area and think this is the best. Just a note, this is a small town with few amenities and the train does go through town but that was not a problem at night. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate reflects s Passport America discount. We thoroughly enjoyed the restful time we spent at this park. The Wi-Fi and all utilities worked just fine. We not only had their Wi-Fi but were able to connect through the Day's Inn down the street. We will camp here again. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This park is basically a parking lot. I rated it highly due to its great location for a one night stopover, and excellent value. The customer service was very friendly. The wifi reception and cell signal were both excellent. My site was perfectly level. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Van Horn isn't much of a town, but the park manager directed me to a local diner called "Papa's Pantry" that had good homemade food with fresh ingredients.

Fairly nice park, and very easy to get to. Not much to look at, and not much to do. But, easy on/off and a very nice place for a quick stopover. Site was open, clean, and flat. Would stay there again. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
