We made reservations and when we did that staff was very helpful and efficient in getting this done for us. The staff also was great about welcoming us in the morning (we arrived after hours).

Even though we arrived late at night towing a big dolly and vehicle (our total length was 70'), we were greeted by new owner. The owner happily led us to our campsite. Our site had 1 tree on it and we were lucky enough to get a site with a casita type structure that gave us a second tree, fenced grass area and was the perfect place for me to put our chairs. The owner also stayed and helped us get settled in and told us that is we needed anything at all to let him know.

The sites are very large level sites and most are pull-through sites. Easy hook ups and located in a great place. There is a great pet area that is fenced and has a couple of benches for us owners to sit on. Pet area is very convenient and clean. If you're traveling with horses they have some corrals too.

The pool is extremely clean as are the grounds here. They also sell propane here as well.

There is a beautiful stocked fishing pond-catch and release fishing only. A perfect, serene and peaceful place to relax and detox after a long day of driving or fish for a bit. There is also a beautiful view of the mountains.

It's extremely quiet here, which is a great change from most RV parks. It's off the highway and down the road a little bit. I think we took exit 140A and drove past a glass station with a Wendy's. Turned left at the sign.

Van Horn RV park has daily, and monthly rates - possibly weekly (didn't ask about weekly). We are here on business and found their monthly rate very competitive, with a large site and all the amenities that they have. They also have a 24-hour laundry room, restrooms and I believe showers too. There is also a playground, tent area with picnic tables and small BBQ grills installed. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Dinner at El Capitan Hotel was wonderful!

Was pleasantly surprised at how nice the park was because I expected it to be rundown, seeing that it was no longer a KOA. Office Manager/Lady is a sweetheart being very considerate and professional. Very close to the 10 freeway but no noise. Looks like the new owners are going to make it a nice place to stay. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Motorhome.

Well, as of 5 days ago (that would be May 6, 2015) this park is no longer a KOA. Which is one reason we picked it out of those available in Van Horn. Then when we inquired about the great breakfast cafe, we were told that it's closed Sun, Mon, and Tue because they are shorthanded and don't have enough staff. That was our second reason for stopping here! Oh well, can't win them all!

The park is typical of what you will find in the southwest: lots of gravel and lots of wind = lots of dust, but the sites are good sized and the park is far enough from I-10 that noise is not an issue. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Motorhome.

Placed in the back row of pull through sites which are very long, no problem for 45' coach pulling SUV. Of course in this area there is nothing but gravel sites, but not much dust. As always pay a bit more for being in a KOA, but Park is far enough from I-10 to not be a bother compared to other park in town. As we weren't in a hurry in the morning, we ordered breakfast from the onsite restaurant. Good, plentiful food and it was delivered quickly. Park is also near the big Stripes truck stop. If ever in the area again would stay. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Fuel at Stripes 1/2mile away.

Over priced, but it is a KOA. Nice cafe for breakfast in the morning is why we stop each year. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Motorhome.

This is a good overnight park. Near I-10 but little noise. Easy in and out. All utilities worked well. Plenty of space. The sites on row G are very long. The sites are hard clay and very level. They have a small cafe. Will stay here again. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Motorhome.

Nice large level spaces. Staff was very nice. They have a cute little café that serves breakfast and dinner served some good Texas-style southern comfort food. We extended our stay 1 night to give us a chance to just relax for a day. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Try the café.

Good park far enough from I-10 to be quiet at night. The staff was friendly and escorted us to our pull thru site with everything working well. This KOA offers breakfast and dinner in their restaurant and we had a good breakfast before we left the next morning. A very nice stopover in west Texas. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an excellent overnight stay. Very long sites so we didn't have to unhook. Dirt sites and throughout park. Good WiFi and excellent cable. They have a new cable system with over 50 digital and 20 analog channels. The staff is quite friendly and helpful. The park is clean and well maintained. There isn't much here in Van Horn but due to the extensive Oil work in West Texas, it is the only place to stay between Van Horn and Abilene. This is a well maintained campground with friendly and helpful staff at check-in. Road and pads were gravel. We had a spacious and level pull-through, big rig access was good. Easy on and off 1-10, and Pilot is just on the corner. Plenty of space for our towed, so no need to unhook just for a one night stopover. There were a few shade trees and some grass, which had the usual Texas stickers in them. The bathrooms were old but clean, however the ladies did have a large ugly hole in the ceiling! The laundry was small but adequate. Pet friendly with a dog run, but no pick up bags. Wi-Fi was slow but cell was okay. There is a small KOA Kafe on site. They serve breakfast and dinner, nothing fancy, but very welcome after a long day on the road. We would stay here again. This campground was surprisingly quiet, and we appreciated the host allocating sites intelligently and not putting everyone together in one small space.  We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Motorhome.

This was a great park. We arrived early in the day and got a end site with the a view of the mountains. It was very quiet and peaceful. They had a small but nice dog run. The sites are level, mostly gravel. Hooks ups were convenient. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Motorhome.

Not much in Van Horn but this is a nice park with level pull-throughs. A couple of small dog runs and they're working on a larger one. Restaurant on site serves breakfast and dinner pretty good for price but limited menu. It's very quiet. Fills up quickly. Better to call than make on-line reservation, or just show up. We have stayed here several times. Not much else between Van Horn and El Paso or Van Horn and Kerrville if you want to drive more than a couple of hours. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.
