Park is all gravel and dirt. We experienced a significant rain storm shortly after our arrival and areas of the park mostly on the roadways had large puddles even the next morning, not an issue but muddied up the motorhome a bit on the way out. WiFi didn't work most of the time, typical of most parks when busy. However Verizon and AT&T service was good. The park had many long term worker residents, with many sites cluttered, and some truck noise early in the morning. One advantage of this park is that it's located just south of town and away from the railroad that runs frequently on and east/west rail on the north side of town. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Motorhome.

We have a 45' motorhome, towing an F150, and had plenty of room to pull through without unhooking. Very nice fenced pet areas, convenient for our two dogs. Generous space between sites in the front section of park. Will stay there again. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Motorhome.

This is a nice campground. They have some nice long pull thru sites that allow big rigs to stay hooked up. They have 50 Amp FHU available. The park is older but clean and tidy. ATT & Verizon work well. Plenty of clear sky for satellite set up. Restrooms are dated but clean. No train or Hwy noise. Friendly staff. Cafe was pricey and smaller portions for dinner.
Will try another Park next time due to price for just a one night stay. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.

An older but clean property with lots of coats of paint on everything. My low rating for service has to do with the traffic in the park - not the personalities of the employees. There appear to be quite a number of "monthly" sites with folks who work in the area and call this home. They drive way too fast through the park, and if a child or animal were to step out, they would get hit, not to mention the dust. Almost all the parks we visit have speed limits, speed limit signs, and enforcements by management. This park desperately needs these restrictions. Good Sam rate. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a cafe on site for eat-in or take-out. Friendly staff. Basic meals such as salsbury steak, chicken-fried steak or chicken. Instant mashed potatoes, packaged gravy and frozen vegetable. Good enough for what it was.

A basic park but appreciated the easy in and out for a one night stay in a big rig, towing. Dog park close to our site that our lab appreciated after a long day on the road. Office staff very friendly. Little cafe on site that will deliver your dinner to your site, which is wonderful when you don't want to unhook! This is an older park, but they are adding a new section. It's great over night campground, far enough from I-10 to be quite, but not a long drive. We're given a friendly greeting, roomy sites with 50amp, Wi-Fi, and cable. Sites are gravel and it's dusty. They have a Café on site with a limited menu for dinner a few more choices for breakfast. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.

This former KOA has level pullthrough sites of various lengths up to 110 feet long. Spacing between the sites was average for an RV Park: fairly close together, but not right on top of each other. The park is almost entirely gravel, with a few small patches of grass at some sites. The staff was friendly and helpful. The free WiFi worked well sometimes, but was slow or unusable at other times. Verizon and AT&T had strong signal and worked well. There are two smallish fenced dog areas, and lots of open area nearby for slightly longer walks. We were only there for two nights while waiting out a snow storm so we didn't use any other amenities. We'd stay here again for an overnight stop. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Motorhome.

This is a nice campground for an overnight stay. After hours checkin was easy. This being an old KOA most of the hook ups were at the rear of the site. Arrived late and left early so did not use many of the facilities that were available. Would stay again if I needed to. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Motorhome.

This is a former KOA but still the same campground. We have stayed here previously and really like this setup. It is all long pull-throughs and the utilities all work fine. There is an onsite small diner that we used for a nice supper. Would have had breakfast but wanted to get moving in the AM. They are now a Good Sam park. Will definitely stop here on our way back in the spring. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.

Bunnies everywhere! The view was awesome, and the facilities were very nice. Pool was a blast. Only negative is the traffic noise 1/2 mile away. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Motorhome.

We made reservations and when we did that staff was very helpful and efficient in getting this done for us. The staff also was great about welcoming us in the morning (we arrived after hours).

Even though we arrived late at night towing a big dolly and vehicle (our total length was 70'), we were greeted by new owner. The owner happily led us to our campsite. Our site had 1 tree on it and we were lucky enough to get a site with a casita type structure that gave us a second tree, fenced grass area and was the perfect place for me to put our chairs. The owner also stayed and helped us get settled in and told us that is we needed anything at all to let him know.

The sites are very large level sites and most are pull-through sites. Easy hook ups and located in a great place. There is a great pet area that is fenced and has a couple of benches for us owners to sit on. Pet area is very convenient and clean. If you're traveling with horses they have some corrals too.

The pool is extremely clean as are the grounds here. They also sell propane here as well.

There is a beautiful stocked fishing pond-catch and release fishing only. A perfect, serene and peaceful place to relax and detox after a long day of driving or fish for a bit. There is also a beautiful view of the mountains.

It's extremely quiet here, which is a great change from most RV parks. It's off the highway and down the road a little bit. I think we took exit 140A and drove past a glass station with a Wendy's. Turned left at the sign.

Van Horn RV park has daily, and monthly rates - possibly weekly (didn't ask about weekly). We are here on business and found their monthly rate very competitive, with a large site and all the amenities that they have. They also have a 24-hour laundry room, restrooms and I believe showers too. There is also a playground, tent area with picnic tables and small BBQ grills installed. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Dinner at El Capitan Hotel was wonderful!

Was pleasantly surprised at how nice the park was because I expected it to be rundown, seeing that it was no longer a KOA. Office Manager/Lady is a sweetheart being very considerate and professional. Very close to the 10 freeway but no noise. Looks like the new owners are going to make it a nice place to stay. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Motorhome.
