First trip here. We stayed in #12, 30/50 amp site with full shade. The road around the loop has some low trees. Our RV is 13'6 so be careful. The site are not all level but the grounds are very nice and well kept. No trash around. We camped at Coleto Creek Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We called ahead of time to verify the availability of an overnight site. We left a message and our number, but never received a return call. The interior roads continue to deteriorate. The WiFi had been out for a while and tech help had been called and the WiFi remained unavailable we were there. We camped at Coleto Creek Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a nice nature trail with the park. Plus, there is a large lake to walk along or fish in.

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This park is gorgeous, big nice spots with trees! The lake is beautiful - we stayed over Easter weekend and it was CRAZY CROWDED - (we won't do that again). We also had some horrible camping neighbors that stayed up all night getting super drunk and loud. The staff was very helpful when we talk to them about it the next day and they moved us to a GORGEOUS spot on the lake. The gorgeous spots on the lake are all 30 amp - but it was cool enough to make it work. I would stay here again for sure. We camped at Coleto Creek Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

After looking around the only bad site I could see for 50 amp was site number 69. All the others had a good amount of trees and privacy.

Overall Rating:

Price reflects senior discount for a pull-through 'multi-use' 50 amp site away from the lake. These sites are surrounded by a nice meadow. A herd of small deer roamed the park. The dirt interior roads were a little rough but easy / wide enough to get around on. We took advantage of the nature trail to enjoy a post-drive walk. A longer off road bicycle trail is also available. We saw a variety of birds along the trail and the usual shore birds at the lake. Open Wi-Fi is available at most sites. We'll return to this park as we come and go to the Rio Grande Valley We camped at Coleto Creek Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: February, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Nice camp ground with gravel roads and sites. Sites are very spacious. We stayed in 50 and 51. Price reflects premium view site, but $30 sites also available. There is excellent bass and catfish in the lake and a large concrete boat ramp. Many kayaks were in use here. There are lots of mountain bike trails from novice to expert trails available. Camp fires are allowed and they also did not seem to mind allowing grey water discharge; which is how it should be. Shady and sunny sites. There were a few full time RVs, but sites were maintained. Only reason for not giving a ten is lack of concrete sites, lack of full hook ups and no military discounts. Awesome place to camp and we will return again and again. Though it wasn't open, we have heard the Lost Cajun restaurant has great food and is just outside of the gates. We camped at Coleto Creek Park in a Travel Trailer.
