An OK park with potential with new owner and enlargement plans. Currently they have 3 rows of sites, 2 back ins and the other pull thru down the middle. Concrete pads are wide enough for disconnecting rigs and parking. Grass between sites, some also have trees. We planned to use Passport but were advised they had just dropped it, however, the week stay rate was just as good. We were there on the edge of off/high season. Chose location because of price. Our site was a back-in with a tall fence behind, picnic table (full of ants in the legs) and a tree which provided afternoon shade. Most of the sites were taken by longterm folk who were very friendly and quiet. Manager, while pleasant, could use more training, in service as well as local information. When we arrived we asked for recommendations on sightseeing and dining - he had no idea and offered no literature. During our stay we commented on a few issues we encountered (laundry left in machine for hours, dogs running loose) but felt nothing was done to correct them. One afternoon manager trimmed a long hedge row, leaving all the clippings which were still there when we left 2 days later... We camped at Summer Breeze USA Victoria (formerly Lazy Longhorn RV Park) in a Truck Camper.

Tips for other Campers:

Stop at the Tourism Office (M-F) in town - they have so much info on things to see and do. We even earned a free t-shirt by visiting some of the places they suggested. For a nice dining experience, try The Pumphouse Restaurant - we did Sunday Brunch and had the most fabulous Shrimp & Grits! A $ type store is ½ mile away for quick groceries or simple supplies

Overall Rating:

Nice park on the quiet side of Victoria. Cheaper than the nearby campground, which did not look as nice. Friendly folks, good utilities, including wi-fi. Park has apparently changed ownership. Some work underway either due to new owners or hurricane that came through this September, but not any kind of a problem to residents.

Site surface is a concrete pad and features a picnic table and patio. We camped at Summer Breeze USA Victoria (formerly Lazy Longhorn RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed in a pull through site. It was a long, narrow site, with level concrete pads and grass between sites. All utilities worked well, and the cable tv was good. The park is neat, and the long-term residents maintain their sites well. The wifi was very weak at our end of the park (#64), and we couldn't use it at all inside the camper. Our major complaint about the park is the price increase. We were here in January and paid $27. This time it was $45, with the Good Sam discount. Apparently there has been a change of ownership, and a name change is in progress (to Summer Breeze). There may have been some upgrades that the working residents appreciate, but for travelers, it's pricey. We will be looking for other alternatives next time we pass through Victoria. We camped at Summer Breeze USA Victoria (formerly Lazy Longhorn RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Park was easy to find. We stayed for a week @ $135 plus electric. The pull troughs are long but narrow. With the slides open there wasn't room to walk on the concrete without going in the grass. No traffic noise from the highway but you do hear the trains during the night. The park is clean and convenient to everything of interest in the area. I would stay here again. Tips for other Campers:

Victoria has some beautiful homes that are on the Texas Historical Registry. Get a driving tour map at the Visitor Center. Fannin and Goliad are within 30 miles for those interested in Texas history. Riverside Park is quite nice.

Overall Rating:

This is a park that caters to full time residents during the winter. The access roads and pads were all paved and the utilities were grouped well. The only knock on this park is the overgrown vegetation. If you are going to advertise as "big rig" then you had better be trimming the overhanging trees and shrubs so they don't impact the roadways and sites. The host actually had to get two straps to pull the shrub together so we could open our entry door. The hosts seemed afraid to trim the shrubs since they weren't the "owners." Too bad because it was a nice place for a pull-through overnight. We camped at Summer Breeze USA Victoria (formerly Lazy Longhorn RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Very nice RV park and very friendly people who run this place. Easy pull-through spaces, quiet, and very clean. Victoria is a good size city with lots of restaurants. Other than that not a lot to see but great place to rest. We camped at Summer Breeze USA Victoria (formerly Lazy Longhorn RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

They claim to be rated in the top 1% of all RV parks in the US; don't believe it. The park is primarily full-time residents who weren't very friendly. Between the residents socializing with each other and their kids running around it was a little noisy. It is easy enough to find, but not convenient to the highway. The spaces are very close to each other, and there is only ONE bathroom for the whole park for which we had to wait a half an hour to get in for a shower. We reserved on-line with a credit card, but when we arrived learned they only accept payment via cash or check. We only stayed one night, but would like to come back when we have more time. This is a very nice campground with super friendly people. Concrete roads, sites and patios are all in good condition. Our site was one of the most level sites we've ever had. We camped at Summer Breeze USA Victoria (formerly Lazy Longhorn RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for the first two weeks of March 2015. Rate is based on weekly rate; electric is metered so cost varies.

Space between campers is what you'd expect, lots of nice trees and grass between sites. Paved roads and sites are wide enough for picnic tables to be on pavement. Staff is friendly and helpful. CG is kept clean. Clubhouse is nice, full of Roy Rogers memorabilia, but is on small side if CG was full of winter people. Appears to be several workers, but that doesn't present any negative. Laundry area is small, only 4 washers and 6 dryers, but clean and reasonable price.

Victoria is a nice town, lots of history to check out, really nice park along the river, bike/walking path, any store you'd want & yet traffic is easy. We really like Victoria! We camped at Summer Breeze USA Victoria (formerly Lazy Longhorn RV Park) in a Motorhome.

We recommend Halepaska's Bakery for breakfast. They also serve lunch but we only ate there for breakfast so can't comment on that.

Overall Rating:

Park is one if best in Victoria. Paved sites and roads and lots of trees and shrubs. Few available sites. Right now only 6 back-ins available. Pull-through sites are large enough for big rigs, barely. Some turns are tight. Staff friendly and helpful. Issues: 1) you may need a Sudden Link box (cable provider) to get extended channels and they are freely available at office, 2) major railroad is about 1/2 mile away and is frequent and loud in early morning, 3) neighborhood is commercial and deteriorated houses on Hwy 185, 4) lots of pickups leaving early. We camped at Summer Breeze USA Victoria (formerly Lazy Longhorn RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This was the Passport America rate for this park. Nice concrete roads and sites. Well kept grounds and pool/ hot tub. There were mostly long term residents (oil workers, etc.) but rigs and spaces were neat/clean. The pull through sites were good but the back ins were a bit tight, with the Jeep parked in the designated parking space it crowded the RV front door. The major bad was the nearby trains running All night long! We camped at Summer Breeze USA Victoria (formerly Lazy Longhorn RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Very few spots for overnight. I didn't find the check-in person particularly friendly or helpful. Crowded. Laundry room clean and reasonable: $1.25. Cozy rec room/lodge. Only one bathroom available after 9 PM. Clean, however. Wi-Fi not good. Cable TV good. And worst of all, TRAINS at night!
