Staff was very friendly and helpful. Our site was located in the lower loop down by the creek. Gravel site but level and plenty of room between sites. Road to the site is gravel and recent rains had washed some gravel away but still quite drive able. Location is good for seeing the San Antonio area. About 30 minutes from downtown. Far enough away from freeways to be very quiet. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

The owners describe their park as a "no frills" place to camp and relax in. I would have to agree 100%. This park is all about relaxing and taking in the great views surrounding the sites. The sites are spacious, with a large grass islands between each pad. Plenty of trees, lots of birds, including road runners, acres upon acres of grassy prairie land, a river in the lower site areas and great Texas sunset views. They have one of the best dog parks we have come across in years. Hidden Valley RV Park is only 20 minutes from down town San Antonio, which makes it an ideal place to start exploring from. The only minus and it's not a big one, is the private road leading into the park is exceptionally dusty in the dry season. If you keep your speed below ten mph, it's tolerable. Car and RV washing IS allowed as long as you stop by the office and purchase a four dollar wash permit. A good deal. This is not a child or family type park. It's simply a very good place to use as home base. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice park and definitely big rig friendly. The bathrooms, showers and laundry are clean and well kept. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The location is convenient to town without all the interstate road noise. Like the other reviews stated the road to the park is long and dusty but hey, you're in Texas. Drive slower and it's not bad. We would stay here again . We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Not an RV resort but great place to stay if you don't need a pool etc. We felt like family. Will come back when in the area. Von Ormy is in the country just outside San Antonio with easy access to I 35 and I 410. If y0u don't like the normal busy city parks this is for you. Quite, clean, and as an added bonus you can hear the coyotes talk to each other. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

We've stayed here several times when coming to San Antonio for doctors, dentist, etc. New office building includes showers and a new laundry. My wife rates the laundry excellent. During our stay, the park implemented a new wifi system that is excellent most of the time. As with any park system, bandwidth is a limiting factor - the more users the slower it goes. On weekdays and early morning weekends, speed is between DSL and cable modem. Evenings after 5pm and midday weekends speed is significantly slower. The only drawback to the park is the 3/8ths mile long, dusty dirt road driveway coming in. Aside from that one drawback, this park is a 10. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

We really appreciate your taking the time to rate the park. Smaller parks are sometime harder to find and many travelers can benefit from seeing these reviews on such a popular review site. I know you usually come here when you have doctor appointments and I sure don't wish any more of those for you but we love to have you visit often.
Thanks again

We have stayed here 2 winters and love being out in the country yet 30 minutes from downtown San Antonio and the military installations. The best park is very well ran, clean, and quiet with brand new laundry and bathroom facilities. Only negative is the gravel road into the park is dusty but remember this is out in the country. We will continue to come back. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Great Mexican food at Benjamin's Kitchen just outside the Park. Nice small grocery, hair/nail salon, fast food, and pizza restaurant minutes down the road in Somerset. Access to highways just outside the park but little vehicle noise. Have the kids listen for the coyotes occasionally at night and watch for the Road Runners. Such a peaceful place.

Rate is based on monthly at $470 including electric. We have stayed at Hidden Valley several times with this visit being for two months. Many improvements have been made since our last visit including the addition of several new very spacious sites and a new office/bathroom/laundry building. Office hours are 1 to 5 PM daily and no arrivals are allowed after dark. The manager's are fantastic and go the extra mile to ensure you have a comfortable stay. Need a repair on your RV? They know who to call. Want to take a tour of San Antonio or need tickets to the attractions. Just ask and they will make it happen. There are actually two sections of the park, the "top" and "bottom" down near the creek. Several of the folks here are long-term residents but the manager's make sure the sites don't get cluttered or trashy. There is no cable TV provided but there are a ton of over the air channels. Satellite reception is good in most of the sites. The park's WiFi is OK for simple surfing and emails and no streaming is allowed. We found the speed fair except in the afternoon and evening. We will be back. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Thanks for taking the time to rate Hidden Valley. We just installed a microwave wifi system in April. It's new to me me but apparently much better than satellite and our guests have been real pleased with it. Look forward to sharing it with you next time you visit.

Two sections to the campground. The Top Section was a little crowded. However the bottom section where we stayed was in a circle with wide sites. The whole park is gravel. The long 1/2 mile entrance is road is also gravel. Very, very dusty. But that wouldn't stop us from staying there again. A severe thunderstorm came through. Owner told us to watch the water level and if starting to flood to just disconnect and come up to the top section. No sites available but OK to park on the access road. We ended up going there in the morning for a few hours. When water receded, we were all able to go back down, but our site was not acceptable, so they moved us to a high and dry spot. No further problems after this. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sure appreciated your patience with the crazy Texas weather. Sometimes the best sites are available only when the weather is more favorable. Creeks are beautiful but tend to make rain a weather problem. Thanks again for your patience and understanding.

Rate reflects monthly rate. We've stayed several times. Very quiet park. We started in site 1 but had to move after a flash flood which came up during the night. No flash flood watch, no severe rain watch or warning. Total surprise. We lost our car (insurance covered it.) Managers went out of their way to help us, including letting us borrow their car until we got a rental. Definitely will stay again. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

We had plenty of room for our 40 ft motorhome, with plenty of grassy yard area, but getting to and from, required driving almost a mile on very rough, dusty, dirt road. It was close to the interstate highway and an easy drive to downtown San Antonio. Owners were very cordial. No extra amenities such as swimming pool or organized park activities. Will not return. Dear Jim and Violet,
Thanks for taking the time to rate the park.
We agree that the dirt road is an inconvenience but since it is out of our control we attempt to make up for it by providing excellent service. We also hope our guests have a memorable visit to our city and help them plan their daily activities downtown SA and the nearby attractions.
While our "country" brand of RVing is not the "resort" type, we do hope that your stay with us was relaxing and will have little place in your good memories of San Antonio. We sincerely enjoyed having you stay us.

One of my favorite getaways from San Antonio! It's isolated so you feel hours from town but it's actually only 10 minutes. Self-contained RVs are best since it's quite a walk to the facilities (where the permanent residents live). LOVED the bonfire pit. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Park floods if it rains hard. We were not told this when we arrived even though the owner knew that heavy rain was predicted. It floods quickly and I had to literally wade through knee deep water to unhook and get out before my whole unit was flooded. Would not recommend a stay there. First of all, I would like to give the manager a 10/10. This lady is truly a nice and very helpful person. I have never had a RV park manager call to check up on us to see if we needed any help or directions before I even arrived. She set up our tours printed coupons for us and when we called she was there - thank you. Now the park. Long, dusty, but smooth road into the park, don't plan on keeping anything clean. The park was in the middle of some renovations and things were kinda out of place. You park on flat level gravel spots, the utilities were in place and working. This place could be a real mess if it rains. They have Wi-Fi that didn't work in our visit and Verizon had one bar and limited 3G. Restrooms and laundry were a bit of a walk up the road and off the beaten path. There is a small stagnant creek that runs thru the park - don't know if it has fish. There's no activities in the park so we stayed out and about until it was time for dinner and bed. I recommend the river walk tours, Alamo and the Toyota tour which manager can help you with. It has the potential for a higher rating. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

As mentioned previously, the folks who run this place are great. They have a clubhouse/bathroom/shower in a nicely finished out mobile home. Looks very comfy and homey. The shower is a mobile home shower/tub set up. If there is a draw back to the park the shower is it. The folks we camped with were all great. You are a bit tight, but there's a large open area all around the perimeter of the the sites and it feels very open. Their Wi-Fi is fast and slow depending on the load. Verizion MiFi works OK down here too. Roads and sites are gravel, and it can get dusty on the way in but it's not an issue in the campground due to low traffic volume. A note on the rate: they take PA but only one night at 17.50 then additional nights are 28 with discount. This is a nice quiet park, and I'd stay here again. This park is convenient to San Antonio, about 15 minutes easy driving on I-35. About 10 minutes away on interstate to a good market: HEB. It is as others said, down a long bumpy road but we just went slow and it was worth it to be out in the countryside. The sites are on grass, and set in a wagon train circle rather close together. Wi-Fi worked fine, but is restricted when you use it too long, so it slowed down later. We used Passport America for first night at $17, then a 15% discount was offered for 2nd night. We had a pull through space, as I said, very tight for a 38' rig with slides but we fit. Owner was extremely gracious and helpful. We didn't use the facilities. It was a great price for a stopover in a beautiful city like San Antonio. We would come back. Great area for pet walking, lots of open mowed grounds to wander around. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.
