Overall Rating:

The owners describe their park as a "no frills" place to camp and relax in. I would have to agree 100%. This park is all about relaxing and taking in the great views surrounding the sites. The sites are spacious, with a large grass islands between each pad. Plenty of trees, lots of birds, including road runners, acres upon acres of grassy prairie land, a river in the lower site areas and great Texas sunset views. They have one of the best dog parks we have come across in years. Hidden Valley RV Park is only 20 minutes from down town San Antonio, which makes it an ideal place to start exploring from. The only minus and it's not a big one, is the private road leading into the park is exceptionally dusty in the dry season. If you keep your speed below ten mph, it's tolerable. Car and RV washing IS allowed as long as you stop by the office and purchase a four dollar wash permit. A good deal. This is not a child or family type park. It's simply a very good place to use as home base. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

This place was a pleasure; and it was the hosts/owners that made it that way. Super Bowl party was low key but great fun. The location is really in the country; coyotes yipping at night, no highway noise. Pleasant walking along the creek, apparently fishing too. Thursday night bonfires are fun for a bit of mixing. I'd go back here in a minute! We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Not an RV resort but great place to stay if you don't need a pool etc. We felt like family. Will come back when in the area. Von Ormy is in the country just outside San Antonio with easy access to I 35 and I 410. If y0u don't like the normal busy city parks this is for you. Quite, clean, and as an added bonus you can hear the coyotes talk to each other. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Park was very quiet, laundry room was open 24/7 which was nice for me since we worked late. Spaces are nice and big. Restrooms were clean. I loved that it was out in the country even with the dust which was minimal! We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We've stayed here several times when coming to San Antonio for doctors, dentist, etc. New office building includes showers and a new laundry. My wife rates the laundry excellent. During our stay, the park implemented a new wifi system that is excellent most of the time. As with any park system, bandwidth is a limiting factor - the more users the slower it goes. On weekdays and early morning weekends, speed is between DSL and cable modem. Evenings after 5pm and midday weekends speed is significantly slower. The only drawback to the park is the 3/8ths mile long, dusty dirt road driveway coming in. Aside from that one drawback, this park is a 10. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

We really appreciate your taking the time to rate the park. Smaller parks are sometime harder to find and many travelers can benefit from seeing these reviews on such a popular review site. I know you usually come here when you have doctor appointments and I sure don't wish any more of those for you but we love to have you visit often.
Thanks again

We have stayed here 2 winters and love being out in the country yet 30 minutes from downtown San Antonio and the military installations. The best park is very well ran, clean, and quiet with brand new laundry and bathroom facilities. Only negative is the gravel road into the park is dusty but remember this is out in the country. We will continue to come back. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Great Mexican food at Benjamin's Kitchen just outside the Park. Nice small grocery, hair/nail salon, fast food, and pizza restaurant minutes down the road in Somerset. Access to highways just outside the park but little vehicle noise. Have the kids listen for the coyotes occasionally at night and watch for the Road Runners. Such a peaceful place.

Rate reflects monthly rate. We've stayed several times. Very quiet park. We started in site 1 but had to move after a flash flood which came up during the night. No flash flood watch, no severe rain watch or warning. Total surprise. We lost our car (insurance covered it.) Managers went out of their way to help us, including letting us borrow their car until we got a rental. Definitely will stay again. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice park in a country setting close to downtown. We had an EASY back-in site by the creek area. Ours was shaded & roomy. The dirt road didn't bother us. It makes you feel like you are almost really camping! The owner is very pleasant and on top of things, especially if the weather forecast isn't the best. We'll come back if we're ever in San Antonio again. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

One of my favorite getaways from San Antonio! It's isolated so you feel hours from town but it's actually only 10 minutes. Self-contained RVs are best since it's quite a walk to the facilities (where the permanent residents live). LOVED the bonfire pit. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very nice with very helpful workers. Nice spots with some in the shade. Has a creek running through that you can fish in. The drive throughs have no shade but are very wide. The only reason I gave it a nine is because the driveway is very long and very dusty. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We were warmly welcomed by the park operator. She was friendly and freely gave us all the info we sought. The park advertised free wifi at the site, to us this is important. The wifi was great. The second evening we even enjoyed Netflix. The park is set in a valley ,it is clean there is little light pollution and it is very quiet. Look forward to camping there again. Friendliest camp hosts ever! They were the most helpful and friendliest people. They are the owners and take pride in making your stay everything you could hope for. They arranged for a tour bus to pick us up at the park. When the bus was delayed by an accident they invited us into their home to wait. We had a great visit with them while they continued making phone calls to the tour company. They also will pet sit if you are gone for the day. Walk you dog or whatever you need. Our family visited us at the campground and they gave us some bait to fish the river that runs through their place. If you are looking for a quiet place to stay, this is it! Close to San Antonio and Lackland AFB. Will stay here again for sure when our other two grandsons graduate from basic training. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate reflects Passport America discount for one night. We have stayed at Hidden Valley several times, and it always feels like "home" when we get here. The manager welcomes you with a big smile and a "Howdy" that always makes us smile. She will also give you a lot of information about the local area including directions to the downtown attractions, best parking based on what you will be driving, and much more. If you are looking for a park with a lot of amenities, Hidden Valley is not for you. But, if you want a quiet, peaceful park completely away from the city, then this is the place you need. Yeah, there is a long gravel road to drive after turning off Fisher Rd., but believe me, it's worth it. Just go slow so not to kick up a lot of dust. Although the WiFi can be slow at times, it's free. We will be back! We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
