We had a site down by the creek with the HU's in the right spot. Large pull through and level so we didn't have to unhook. They could do with better picnic table though as ours was very rickity! Nice creek close by. Friendly staff. Only downer was the gravel road. Would stay here again. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Thanks for taking the time to rate our park and the tip about your picnic table. Took care of that right away. Look forward to your next trip through San Antonio.

Rate is based on monthly at $470 including electric. We have stayed at Hidden Valley several times with this visit being for two months. Many improvements have been made since our last visit including the addition of several new very spacious sites and a new office/bathroom/laundry building. Office hours are 1 to 5 PM daily and no arrivals are allowed after dark. The manager's are fantastic and go the extra mile to ensure you have a comfortable stay. Need a repair on your RV? They know who to call. Want to take a tour of San Antonio or need tickets to the attractions. Just ask and they will make it happen. There are actually two sections of the park, the "top" and "bottom" down near the creek. Several of the folks here are long-term residents but the manager's make sure the sites don't get cluttered or trashy. There is no cable TV provided but there are a ton of over the air channels. Satellite reception is good in most of the sites. The park's WiFi is OK for simple surfing and emails and no streaming is allowed. We found the speed fair except in the afternoon and evening. We will be back. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Thanks for taking the time to rate Hidden Valley. We just installed a microwave wifi system in April. It's new to me me but apparently much better than satellite and our guests have been real pleased with it. Look forward to sharing it with you next time you visit.

Two sections to the campground. The Top Section was a little crowded. However the bottom section where we stayed was in a circle with wide sites. The whole park is gravel. The long 1/2 mile entrance is road is also gravel. Very, very dusty. But that wouldn't stop us from staying there again. A severe thunderstorm came through. Owner told us to watch the water level and if starting to flood to just disconnect and come up to the top section. No sites available but OK to park on the access road. We ended up going there in the morning for a few hours. When water receded, we were all able to go back down, but our site was not acceptable, so they moved us to a high and dry spot. No further problems after this. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

The San Antonio Riverwalk Bike/Walk Trail is very nice and safe. We used it two times to bike ride to see all of the missions.

Sure appreciated your patience with the crazy Texas weather. Sometimes the best sites are available only when the weather is more favorable. Creeks are beautiful but tend to make rain a weather problem. Thanks again for your patience and understanding.

We had plenty of room for our 40 ft motorhome, with plenty of grassy yard area, but getting to and from, required driving almost a mile on very rough, dusty, dirt road. It was close to the interstate highway and an easy drive to downtown San Antonio. Owners were very cordial. No extra amenities such as swimming pool or organized park activities. Will not return. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Dear Jim and Violet,
Thanks for taking the time to rate the park.
We agree that the dirt road is an inconvenience but since it is out of our control we attempt to make up for it by providing excellent service. We also hope our guests have a memorable visit to our city and help them plan their daily activities downtown SA and the nearby attractions.
While our "country" brand of RVing is not the "resort" type, we do hope that your stay with us was relaxing and will have little place in your good memories of San Antonio. We sincerely enjoyed having you stay us.

We have a 36 foot fifth wheel so the area we stayed in was a large mostly open field. The hookups were easily accessed. We had very good antenna reception but Verizon was very weak. We had a large open grassy area in front of our door This park is within 10 minutes of Lackland Air Force Base which was convenient for our needs. The entrance into the park is packed dirt and gravel and require driving very slowly. We rented the cowboy palace for a family member and it definitely was not worth the rental price.. It was old and in very poor working conditions and with no heat which was very necessary with 40 degree nights. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Benjamin's kitchen is very close and provides a very inexpensive breakfast. There was a large communal fire pit which we did not use but it was near our unit. It took about 20 minutes to get to downtown San Antonio

Dear Pam and John,
Just recently got the privilege to respond to RV Park Reviews ratings and am so glad to get the chance to thank you for your time rating Hidden Valley RV Park.
I wish your family had let me know that additional heat was needed and apologize that I didn't perceive it on my own. There was one heater and the fireplace heater and I assumed they were sufficient.
I sincerely want to get details of the cottage conditions so I can improve them so I look forward to contacting you shortly to get your detailed opinion.
We welcome your comments and appreciate your review as a means to improve our service.

This is definitely a "campground" as opposed to an "RV resort." First the owner. She is a fabulous wealth of information and incredibly helpful. The lots are large with a lot of room for dogs to roam and it is very peaceful. This makes it a nice campground. If you are looking for a paved access road, a fancy clubhouse with top shelf laundry or good internet access and cell phone reception, then you are probably looking for an RV park and this park will disappoint in those categories. With that being said, we would stay here again if the stay was short, because it has great freeway access and is close to San Antonio. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

It is very important to be self contained here, as the unisex bathroom/shower is the bathroom in the mobile home clubhouse which is a fair walk from the campsites. This campground is about a 15 minute interstate drive from downtown San Antonio, with the end of the drive down a long, dirt road. Electric/water/sewer were good. It takes Passport America for the first night for a rate of $17.50 then additional nights are $28 with discount. The owner/hostess was super pleasant and provided lots of great information about the area. We took the Toyota plant tour she sent us info on and really enjoyed it. Small, quiet campground with several working permanents. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This was a very nice campsite away from the big city hassle. The trees and grass made it nice to just sit outside relax and grill. The owner was very nice and very knowledgeable about current downtown events. I would camp here again. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Park was "Hidden." Down a long and dusty road. Very friendly manager/owner. She hooked us up with a tour of San Antonio that we enjoyed, and the bus came to get us there. We'd stay here again. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This rate was a monthly rate which was cheaper than the daily rate. A quiet campground down in a small valley 15 minutes from downtown San Antonio. Close to flea markets and less than 10 minutes from a mall and major shopping area. There is a mile long gravel road into the park and if you drive slowly it is no problem. There is a creek you can fish in close to the campsites. The couple that run the park are great and go out of their way to help you find places and with any other problems you may have. It is a small campground set back from the roads and it provides for a quiet stay, we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is convenient to San Antonio, about 15 minutes easy driving on I-35. About 10 minutes away on interstate to a good market: HEB. It is as others said, down a long bumpy road but we just went slow and it was worth it to be out in the countryside. The sites are on grass, and set in a wagon train circle rather close together. Wi-Fi worked fine, but is restricted when you use it too long, so it slowed down later. We used Passport America for first night at $17, then a 15% discount was offered for 2nd night. We had a pull through space, as I said, very tight for a 38' rig with slides but we fit. Owner was extremely gracious and helpful. We didn't use the facilities. It was a great price for a stopover in a beautiful city like San Antonio. We would come back. Great area for pet walking, lots of open mowed grounds to wander around. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Price reflects the Passport America rate. Very friendly - Terri, the person we spoke with on the phone when we called ahead, called us by name when we drove up. Nice touch. A definite "out in the country" type place, close to the big city. Good, level sites; grassy, wide-open feel. We did not use the showers, which are in a mobile home near the entrance. The only downside of this park is the unpleasant washboard entrance road, about 7/10 of a mile... the speed limit is 10 mph, but if you try to drive that fast (?), you may lose some fillings. We would stay here again. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Two drawbacks for us: 1) the restroom/showers and laundry room were too far from the RV site so we didn't use them and 2) there is about a mile of bumpy dirt road to drive over before you get to the RV park. However the staff is very helpful and the RV setting is woodsy and green. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Rate reflects monthly. This is our second time staying here, this time for three months. The park is about 15 miles from downtown San Antonio, away from all the traffic and noise of the city. Getting to the park is very easy off I-35. Yes, you have to drive down a long gravel road but it’s worth it to be “in the country”. Quiet, secluded and dark at night is exactly what we like. Has an outstanding manager: going above and beyond the call of duty to make your stay here the best it can be. We’ll be back in November. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
