We had a nice waterfront site. Nice views of the lake. Not a lot of shade for our trailer. It got pretty hot for 4 days, about 101 each day. The water felt good and made the temperatures bearable. The mornings were really nice until about noon. The camphosts were very nice. We will stay again though it will probably be spring time. We camped at Airport Park COE in a Fifth Wheel.

First visit to this park. Our site, #30, had no shade and it was 104 degrees. Many sites had shade. Nice aluminum picnic table on grated surface. Most concrete pads were extra long and spacious. Signage to the park is poor. Their sign sits back off the street at the entrance. The grass/weeds needed mowing, it was over our ankles and lots of burrs. We enjoyed our weekend get away in Waco but might look at other campground options next time. We camped at Airport Park COE in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We went to Homestead Cafe - it was an interesting place to go. They have a village surrounding it with little shops. We also went to Spice Village and The Findery and enjoyed both for shopping.

Nice COE park. Electricity was good at 50 amps. Our site was in view of the lake with a nice breeze and had a perfect place for the kids to play in the water with gradual slope and no drop offs that i found. (Our little one kept waterwings on though.)Bring swimming shoes because it is very rocky. Bathrooms are old but very clean and the showers are basic but good and private. The toilets have too much pressure so be careful when flushing. Grocery stores within 5 miles, also saw a restaurant along the way. It is also near the "Mammoth Site. " ( a new national momument where a mammoth nursery was found. Bike riding was good and easy enough for children. The sites are level and roomy and the tables were in good shape. There was also a fire ring at each site as well as a barbque. This park suffered flooding a few years ago and was closed but they have worked hard to clean it up. We camped at Airport Park COE in a Motorhome.

We stayed here to visit the attractions around the city, a little bit of a drive since it is out of town but no too far. The park staff does an excellent job of keeping everything clean with having a business come in and pressure wash the restrooms and even the campsites every few days. I think we saw them 3 times during our week there. Satellite reception was easy to get in our site #11 and has a beautiful view of the lake. We will definitely be back but would like to have our boat when we do as the lake was real inviting. We camped at Airport Park COE in a Fifth Wheel.

We had a beautiful site right on the edge of Lake Waco with wonderful views. The park was easy to get in and out of with good roads. Finding it was a bit of a challenge as our navigation system only knew about the main office. Signage could be better but it's there. We spent 3 nights here. We camped at Airport Park COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

This campground is only about 6 miles from the Magnolia Silos! That was our main reason for staying here but we enjoyed other parts of Waco too. Great little city!

We were looking for an overnight where we could also visit Magnolia Silo and the Dr. Pepper Museum in downtown Waco. We found this to be the best option based on location, price and a long enough Pull Through spot. The site was level and had a nice COVERED picnic table. The trees over the site were a bit low and could use better upkeep but we were able to get out 43 foot, 13 foot high coach in ok. While we didn't use any of the amenities and could only see a portion of the lake, it served our purpose. We would stay here again. We camped at Airport Park COE in a Motorhome.

Really nice park that is recovering from a flood. Most of the park was open when we were there. Our site was groomed when we arrived. We saw the staff clean and groom each site when someone left. Great full hook-ups. Close to town but at a great lake. We will definitely come back. We camped at Airport Park COE in a Fifth Wheel.

We enjoyed our stay here and can't beat the value with an America the Beautiful Pass--2 nights for $28. But we had some mixed feelings. Arrived on Monday, left on Thursday. Trash was evidently picked up on Monday and dropped all around dumpster. Some large eagle like birds were feasting almost right on our site, large enough to carry off a small dog. No one came near to clean it up. Didn't see any park employees other than gatekeeper until we were ready to leave. On Thursday there was a flurry of activity getting ready for the week end. No hosts in evidence in any of the 3 circles of campsites. We camp in a National Forest campground often, and there are always two hosts in every circle. Made us a little uncomfortable to think about if an emergency occurred. Sites were not really level but were ok. Interior roads need some repair, perhaps due to the flooding. Whoever designed the entry and exit gates must not have been a camper. The passages are so narrow that we came within inches of taking off the mirror on our motorhome. There was another lane on each side of the one lane open, but both were locked off, which we thought was a little strange. All in all we did enjoy our stay. Lake was pretty and we had good antenna TV. Very quiet--little airport traffic. Would come back again. We camped at Airport Park COE in a Motorhome.

Airport Park in Waco, Texas has reopened after two years of closure due to repeated flooding. It is a Corps of Engineers campground. Many sites have great Lake views and access. Full hookup, water & electric and water only campsites. The park looks great and they continue to clean it up. We were in full hookup site 28. We camped at Airport Park COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice Corps park on the banks of Lake Waco. Close to the airport but not a lot of plane traffic while we were there. Good AT&T mobile coverage. Gates close at 10 pm. Covered picnic table, fire ring and grill at site. Overall, very comfortable. We will stay here again if in the area. We camped at Airport Park COE in a Fifth Wheel.

This is yet another beautiful COE park on the shores of Lake Waco. As its name implies, it is right next to the airport which makes it very convenient if you are touring in the Waco area. The airport doesn't get many flights so that's not a problem. What is a problem is the signage for getting here. Your GPS has no problem getting you to Skeet Eason Road but most likely will direct you to the day-use area instead of the RV park. It is marked as Airport Park Beach. Don't turn there; go another half mile down the road to Airport Park on the left. The signs for this turn are poor and don't have the normal COE logo. Even within the park the signage is poor. We were in site 22 which is a decent-sized pull-through on the lake. However, the signs show "right turn for boat ramp" and "right turn for sites" but what they don't say is that the two turns are on successive roads, one right after the other. Not too much of a problem since there was plenty of room to turn around at the boat ramp. All in all it is a great place to stay and isn't more than 10 minutes off I-35. Our site had a huge metal picnic table and a shelter. We camped at Airport Park COE in a Motorhome.

Always enjoy staying here when we come to Waco/Baylor University. With a 36' HM and a tow dolly, we use Google Earth to pick a good site that allows us to pull through. The Reserve America\Recreation.gov web site descriptions are NOT always correct as to access, sewer hookups. You can always call the office for clarification if necessary.

The sites are great. Paved and level. Most have a covered picnic table. All have a fire ring & water. We chose a nice lake-side spot without trees since the weather was expected to be poor and we figured the satellite was going to be used (it was). A number of the sites are treed and that's a good thing in the Texas summer. Again, Google Earth is your friend.

The RV sites aren't close together so there's a modicum of privacy which is nice. Around dusk or sunrise is a good time to go for a long walk and see the wildlife around the area. Deer are all over the place. Lots of roadrunners and the usual collection of other Texas critters as well.

All-in-all a great COE operation. We camped at Airport Park COE in a Motorhome.

Do NOT forget about the 10 PM curfew!!

The gates are locked at 10pm and, if you're not back inside the park by 10pm, you have to park your car at the gate and walk back to you camp site.

Just sayin'

The park is situated on Waco Lake. Our site, #63, backed right up to the water and the showers were right across the road. It was beautiful, although it probably would have been pretty hot in the summer. A lot of the other sites had a lot more trees than this one, but since it wasn't hot out we loved the site. The site had a grill, a fire ring and a covered picnic table. We drove around the park just at dusk and saw lots of deer and roadrunners. We would definitely camp here again! We camped at Airport Park COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Shore Power 50/30 amp is good. No Sewer, Water @ 90psi. Wi-Fi Verizon 4GLTE is very good. Sprint 3G is -81dbm. AT&T Cell Phone is very good. No Cable. Sites are long and wide for about any RV. Sites have plenty of room between them. Roads are paved Asphalt with some pot holes. Restrooms and showers were not very clean. This surprised me. No laundry. DirecTV Satellite is easy access. Fee is $20 per night but there is a discount 50% if you have one of the Golden Age or America the Beautiful. Payment with credit card is accepted. This is an excellent park. My biggest cons on the park is the Restroom. They Padlock the gates at 10pm and open at 6am. They cut the grass after I got here. The grass has some burrs that get in my pets paws. I don't give 10's unless a campground is heads above any other campground so this is very well worth an 8. I will stay here again when in the area. We camped at Airport Park COE in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here in a 40' motorhome. Park was easy to get around in; wide asphalt roads and sites. We had site 010 on the lake (Lake Waco). Ours was 50A FHU, but only about 25% of all of the sites in this campground have a sewer connection so be sure to check your particular site first if you need that extra utility. Electric and water were both strong; Our Millenicom WIFI internet signal was 4G and our Verizon cell was 4 bars strong. We were about 10 minutes from all restaurants and grocery activities. Overall, a nice park and we would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Airport Park COE in a Motorhome.
