Good park, out of the way and right on the Lake Waco. No sewer hookups and a so so dump station, needs help! Lots of wild life, as we witnessed Foxes, Skunks, Lots of Deer. Weekends are packed. Gate Hosts watch the park like a hawk. I have stayed here several times before and will go back. Good place to relax and have fun. We camped at Speegleville Park COE in a Fifth Wheel.

The park is clean and well kept, although the restrooms left something to be desired. The park is far enough from the highway so there are no traffic noises, but there are cars driving through the park from the time it gets dark until about midnight. I am not sure if the gate is left open or why there is so much traffic, as the park is at the end of a long road. Also the park has no pet rules. While we were there one camper had 3 dogs and another had 4, and they barked from 6 AM until late evening. My overall rating would have been a 10 if not for the traffic and the dogs barking. We would and have recommended this park to friends. We camped at Speegleville Park COE in a Motorhome.
Date of Stay: January, 2011 - $16.00
Beautiful campground, nice level sites near the lake with hookups. The restrooms were a bit on the tacky side -- needed some updating and the toilet in the handicap restroom sprayed water all over the floor when it was flushed. Spent only one night, but would stay again. Gates are locked at 10 p.m. We camped at Speegleville Park COE in a Travel Trailer.

This is the fourth COE park around Lake Waco. Small but appears to be recently created or renovated. Most sites have covered metal tables with neat concrete and graveled areas around. While some trees, few provided shade on campsite but sites are large and easily accessed (no trees to navigate around). $10 fee is Golden Age Pass price. We would certainly return. Nine rating is due to restrooms a bit far from some of the sites, especially lake side. BE SURE to follow directions from recreation.gov web site, as some GPS may take you over McLaughlin Rd now under water. Also, at the time of this review, three of the four COE parks around Waco Lake were mis-labeled at the recreation.gov site. The coordinates for Speegleville took you to Airport COE park. Check satellite maps around Waco Lake for clarity. Good TV and broadband card reception. We camped at Speegleville Park COE in a Fifth Wheel.
